“Tina took great care of my girls! They get along well with her dog Booker. She was able to administer antibiotics for one of my dogs and sent photos and updates at the end of every day. Highly recommend! Thank you Tina!!”

“Patty is the absolute best! She took such great care of my dog Pippa for an extended stay. She was so kind and communicative. She treated my little girl like she was her own. She and her husband are truly dog whisperers.”

“This was an amazing stay for our boy! They sent so many photo updates we could really enjoy our trip knowing our pup was well cared for! Would love to use this family to watch our dog again❤️”

“Dana was someone I know I can trust with my best friend, May. It was clear that she cared about May's well-being and kept us updated with pictures and text about May and took into consideration we were away from her and enjoyed knowing she was having fun, eating well and getting outside for a run or a walk. I liked the idea that I could text Dana and get feedback anytime! I would not hesitate to take May over for our 'week' down the shore or anywhere for that matter. Thank You Dana for being such a good friend to the best dog I ever loved.”

“My dog doesn't like to be away from home, but Rhea makes her feel comfortable and takes excellent care of all her needs, also during the recent heat wave. Sage was happy and in great shape when I returned after a longer trip. While I was away, Rhea kept me up-to-date on how Sage was doing, which is very helpful for peace of mind. I will always ask Rhea when I need help with dog sitting. I highly recommend her.”

“Wenji and family are great. I got some pictures and Jo got lots of walks. When Jo came home, she was very calm and balanced and happy. Very happy about this experience. Will have Jo stay again with Wenji.”

“Christin was great with Santos! He seemed so happy to be there. It was apparent that she is a natural dog lover who appreciates different canine personalities. She cared for him during the most trying times of doing so with any dog, involving historic cold weather. And went above and beyond the duty of just 'watching him'. Communication was great and I will not hesitate to use her again”

“Nicole is awesome! She really loves dogs and my Josie was very comfortable at her home. She sent pictures and Josie had absolutely no issues. I would highly recommend Nicole!”

“Clarissa took such good care of our Benny for 12 days and sent us tons of videos and photos! She is very responsive and we felt so good knowing Benny was having fun playing with other dogs in a home environment.”

“Craig was great with our 10-yr lab/spaniel mix. I could tell she had a wonderful long weekend with Craig and his lab. She was walked and spoiled. I feel fortunate we found Craig. We love our dog AND we know she can be high maintenance.”

“I can’t say enough great things about Drew, he is truly the dog whisperer! My dog is sweet and wouldn’t hurt a fly, but a ppl dog that growls at other dogs. It’s a playful growl but other dogs don’t like it and it can cause problems. Drew took him in and my dog didn’t just do ok, he thrived and made lots of friends! Even slept w/ the other dogs at night! Drew sent lots of pictures and videos w/ updates which was so nice:) Great communication, responding quickly to any messages as well. It felt great knowing while on a long vacation, that my dog was in the BEST of hands w/ someone who loves dogs and knows how to keep them happy and cared for. So glad we found you ! Will always bring him to you for future trips:). Thanks again for everything, especially helping Cocoa make friends, I didn’t think it possible, but WOW, you did it! Incredible! You have a gift my friend!”

“Lynda was awesome! Super communicative. Marvel seemed so comfortable which is huge for my anxious baby. Will be reaching out to Lynda for future dog-sitting needs for sure.”

“Amy was fantastic - we instantly felt comfortable with her husband and her (and, more importantly, so did the dog!). She was very detail oriented, sent pictures throughout Champ's short stay and made sure Champ got plenty of exercise. I also appreciated her policy not to take multiple dogs at once. We will definitely be repeating with Amy - the whole experience was great!”

“My dog Mabel absolutely LOVED her stay with Joanna and Henry! She was so happy and calm for her stay and I know that because of all the wonderful pictures and videos that Joanna sent while we were gone. Mabel usually comes back with an upset stomach when she stays with someone other than us, but this was not the case with Joanna. I know she kept a close eye on her and made sure she didn’t eat weird random things outside and that she gave her the attention and love she is used to. Henry and Mabel because quick friends and that was the icing on the cake!! We are so happy to have found someone we can truly trust with our girl and will definitely be using her when we go away again:)”

“Alexa was incredible! She sent me updates on my dog without me having to ask, including plenty of pictures of him having a blast staying there. I’m leaving Sunny with Alexa whenever I go out of town!”

“Maya watched our two dogs and they had an incredible time. I felt bad when we had to pick them up! Maya is thorough and ensures she knows exactly what your pets will need during their stay. She sends multiple updates with a ton of photos so your mind is always at ease. I would 100% book her again.”

“We left our yorkie, Richie with Julia for over a week and Julia took great care of Richie, took him on regular long walks, shared pictures and videos of Richie and ensured that he ate well and kept him comfortable in her home. Thanks to Julia we were worry free about Richie on our vacation”

Thalita did an AMAZING job with Louie! She watched him over our wedding weekend and it was so nice knowing he was in such good hands. She even was willing to drive Louie to the venue to take a few photos with us as we got ready. She went above and beyond and clearly just loves dogs and animals. We would definitely recommend Thalita and are so happy we found her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
