About: I am an academic (and animal lover!) living in Berkeley looking to spend some time walking, cuddling, and generally taking care of pets -- dogs, cats, and otherwise! I have lived with both cats and dogs before, including my beloved dog "niece" Stevie (pictured in my profile photo), who lives back in my hometown, Chicago. Back home in Chicago, I volunteered with One Tail At A Time shelter. Duties included playing with/socializing dogs, cleaning and sanitizing kennels, and lots and lots of laundry duty! My time volunteering in the shelter taught me how to interact with dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I have several friends who I have cat-sit for regularly and am looking to expand my network of cat-sitting and dog-sitting clients. I have both stayed over in people's homes and done more "drop-in" style pet-sitting depending on what works for the situation. When possible with cats I prefer indoor cats, but I have stayed with outdoor cats as well. I would call myself a moderately experienced dog walker who enjoys getting her steps in, but equally is happy to just take your dog around the block for some fresh air! I am an effective communicator and genuinely enjoy this kind of work! I am in academia -- mostly writing and researching -- and make my own schedule. I almost only work from home. This gives me great flexibility in working with your pets! Safety is a key concern of mine. For example, I do not walk animals with headphones in, as I prefer to be aware of my surroundings. I also prefer to do a "meet and greet" before working with an animal so they can identify me/my scent so that everyone feels safe and happy! I am happy to meet owners' individual safety needs.

About: I‘ve rescued, fostered and placed animals from different species in homes since 11 years ago. It all started with my soul dog who made me get into dog training and ethology. More animals came into my life and continued to taught me how to properly take care for disabled and senior animals who had terminal cancer, seizures, and mobility issues. As well as different species of animals that urgently needed veterinary care and new homes like bearded dragons, turtles, rats, chickens, cows and fish. I‘m surrounded by a community of animal rescuers who have taught me a lot on how to help more animals and educate the public about their needs and challenges. It‘s very important for pet parents to leave their animals at the hands of people who understand that these pets are family members and each of them is unique and deserves to be given the best care and life possible. I‘m currently available most days of the week, and trying to get consistent pups that I can take on adventures with others at least twice a week. I‘m also available for boarding and house sitting. I train tuesdays-fridays at night for an hour. I like to do multiple walks and exercise at selected parks around berkeley and oakland. I live in a 1b-1ba apartment with a big cemented balcony in an apartment building. All my windows and balcony door have a screen. My door goes to a carpeted hallway with other apartments so there‘s no possibility of escaping accidents. I also have a 360 camera at my apartment which I use for monitoring.

Our almost 3-year-old dog is a rescued and very skittish pup who is incredibly sweet and affectionate but needs a lot of time to feel comfortable with new people and new surroundings. About: Nickname: Fox I am staying in Oakland till the end of July. I truly love animals of all kinds. I love them so much that I have had everything from cats and dogs to birds, rats and rabbits. I have also had fish among other exotic animals over my lifetime. I have experience with disabled pets, pets with extra medications, and pets with special needs. I am also extremely capable of taking care of multiple pets at a time. I can easily manage various species of pets at a time. They will be well cared for with me. House sitting with light chores and overnight care are not an issue with my schedule! In the case of small and medium sized dogs I'm capable of handling them on walks if they're very reactionary to people and other animals. I'm capable of walking larger dogs if they're on the calm side and won't chase animals and people. About: I've had pets my whole life from dogs, birds, and different reptiles. I've volunteered at shelters and rescues with walking and fostering dogs. I'm very comfortable with dogs and excited to meet yours! My schedule is currently very flexible and looking to walk dogs during this time. Growing up on my grandmas farm with 7 dogs, 5 horses, 9 cats and about 50 llamas taught me how to properly care for animals of all kinds, and how they can also take care of you! About: I grew up with a dog that I was responsible for from a young age until my late teens. Today, I am the go-to dog care person for family and friends. I love animals but especially dogs so I decided to try expanding my skills here on Rover. I have experience helping dogs who are injured and need medicine, active, semi-active, and mellow dogs too! My current schedule offers flexibility throughout the weekdays and most weekends, which helps me balance and accommodate dog owners' various schedules/needs throughout the entire week.
