About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for pets, primarily dogs and cats. Dog breeds include: French bulldog, German shepherd, Pitbull, Lab mixes, Terrier mixes, and other mixed breed dogs. I have experience co-raising a German Shepherd dog (Benny) from 8 weeks to 2+ years old. He was my buddy! My experience caring for dogs includes daily walking, play time, feeding, and giving bathes as needed. I have experience taking dogs to veterinary appointments and administering oral and topical medications as needed. I’ve primarily watched after family dogs over the many years. The dogs include: Mocha, Nemo, Sue, Satch, Simon, Daisy, Arthur, Opie, Benny, and Ziggy! I have a flexible work schedule that is fully remote so I am fully available to provide pet care, at your home or mine. Please communicate with me what you need so I can be sure to organize my day and time. Outside of pet care, I teach recreation studies to college students. I enjoy getting outside and would be happy to walk with your dog around the dog beach or your local neighborhood. I follow the care guidelines you provide for your pet, and take extra caution to be sure your pet is safe. That means I am sure to close gates and doors so your pet does not get out, and risk injury from going into the street. If I care for pets in your home, I will respect your space and keep it clean, in the same condition or better.

We’ll have scheduled breaks, playtime, potties, etc. to ensure your fur baby comes home without missing a beat! Your fur baby will have 100% of my attention in my secured home. As an experienced owner of 2 working service dogs, I’m happy to ensure your everyday best behaviors are always met!
“We are so happy to have Irina walk our two corgis now that I’m returning to an office a few days each week. I think I probably had more separation anxiety than the pups, but it’s comforting knowing they get a visit with Irina and burn off some energy. We love the photos and card updates. Looking forward to many more walks!”

“David and Mabel were very easy to work with, had good communication, were flexible, and did a great job with our 2 dogs! Definitely recommend them and will use them again.”
“Thank you so much Jennifer! 5 stars! I am an anxious dog mom to a very anxious doodle, and it’s very hard for me to find people that I feel comfortable leaving my little fur baby with. But from the moment I started communicating with Jennifer through Rover, my anxieties were eased! Jennifer is kind, warm, and a very clear communicator! She was very gracious and non-judgmental too as I over explained and neurotically walked through Ruffles’ preferences and routines! I felt so at ease at work knowing she was taking care of my baby and didn’t even think twice! And her updates and pictures were always great and informative. It’s funny too how you just know when your dog likes someone, and I could tell he really felt comfortable with her! Can’t wait to book again for dog walking.”

About: I have always had pets, growing up it was cats and rats, now I have a senior Maltese cutie pie I adopted as a rescue 5 years ago. He is a joy and an honor to care for and has brought so much positivity and goodness into my life. I have dog and cat sat in personal settings, for my family and friends when they were out of town. I am familiar with a variety of dog breeds everything from Dachshunds to Great Danes. I have also cared for dogs and cats in a professional setting as well, the pets of my home healthcare clients. I have helped care for three legged cats, dogs with severe medical conditions, and dogs with high anxiety. It would be an honor to care for your loves! I am currently working as a substitute so I have a flexible schedule. I have a few days a week where I am available all day, and a few days where I am available for the afternoons/early evenings. I am always sure to put your pets needs first and make sure they are happy and comfortable. When I commit to a task I see it through and complete it according to instruction and to the best of my ability, especially when someone else’s welfare is at stake.
“Extremely reliable, was able to make a last minute time change. Barkerini seemed very comfortable with her, and now greets her at the door. Jena is going to be a big help when I need to be gone for the day ;-)”

About: Animals are one of my life’s greatest loves. I’ve spent a lifetime working hands-on with cats, dogs, birds, and other small animals—at this point, I’m a level-capped pet sitter with stat bonuses vs shy guys and grumps. 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬: I’m strong; I can walk and manage large dogs easily (esp. with a harness). I’m experienced with energetic and anxious dogs who need 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 handling. 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐬: I’m ridiculously good with cats and offer professional-level 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 as an add-on service. I have all the tools and expertise to handle mat removal, brushing, nail trims, and ear cleaning—skills I’ve developed caring for my own cats. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫: • Follow care instructions as written • Regular photo updates • Respectful of your home and routines • Flexible part-time schedule I work from home part-time, so I can structure visits around your pets’ actual schedules—midday walks, multiple daily check-ins, or extended house sitting. Serving Rockridge and surrounding Oakland neighborhoods. Prefer to walk or bike for drop-ins and walks; happy to drive for house sitting. I work part-time from home (and for house sitting, can easily work from yours), so I have a flexible schedule to structure around your pets’ needs — walks, feedings, playtime, grooming, cuddling and companionship. At home, I maintain a clean, calm environment with scheduled meals, play, and grooming for my own two beloved cats. Routine and enrichment are key to keeping pets stress-free and content.

“Bailey did a wonderful job taking care of our girl Raya for the day and keeping us updated on each visit and walk. This was our first time using Rover to find a sitter and are so grateful that we found Bailey. Raya was certainly happy to have a new friend to go on walks with.”

About: 🍼 My granduncle, who babysat me, was the founder of the first Korean dog rescue organization in Los Angeles. I grew up playing with all the dogs waiting for their forever family. Rescues have a special spot in my heart. In my own home, I grew up raising three dogs. Since moving to Oakland, I have been a cat mom for ten-plus years and adopted a Korean Jindo-mix in 2025. 🎨 I am a WFH Product Designer so I have some flexibility between meetings. 👟I *try* to go on a daily walk for inspiration, fresh air, and time away from my computer. Walking or walking to visit an adorable fur child makes my walks exponentially more joyful. 🦺 For safety and visibility, I walk dogs while the sun is out. I do not walk dogs once it is dark. I carry pepper spray and a protection alarm. 📍I accept walks and drop-ins in the City of Piedmont, Piedmont Avenue, and Montclair neighborhoods of Oakland. My emergency contacts actively monitor my live location and are aware of my schedule to ensure your pet and I are safe. 📋 I follow and respect the pet owner’s protocol and wishes. Please share the information I should know beforehand so I can provide the best-personalized care.
About: I’ve spent five years volunteering at an animal shelter, working with pets of all kinds, and have fostered kittens, so I’m no stranger to cuddles, chaos, and everything in between. On top of that, I have plenty of experience with overnight pet care, house sitting, and making sure pets feel safe and happy while their humans are away. Whether your pet needs extra attention, a structured routine, or just a reassuring presence, I’ll make sure they’re well cared for while you’re away. I work from home, so I have plenty of flexibility to provide attentive care, frequent check-ins, and a consistent routine for your pet. Whether they need regular walks, playtime, or just some extra companionship throughout the day, I can easily accommodate their needs and keep them happy while you’re away. I prioritize safety, trust, and comfort when caring for pets in my home or a client’s home. While I don’t have a yard, I live near a park, making it easy to ensure dogs get plenty of exercise and fresh air. In a client’s home, I respect their space and routine, keeping pets comfortable in their familiar environment.
About: Even as I pursued a new path and became a geographer after earning my degree from UC Berkeley, my love for dogs has remained constant. Since 2011, I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all kinds...puppies to seniors, from Pomeranians to Labradors, and even the occasional Siamese cat. I truly enjoy being around animals and continue to offer dog boarding because I genuinely love their company. I share my home with Lola, a large, goofy, and very friendly pup who gets along with everyone—humans and dogs alike. As a result, I’m only able to board dogs who are also dog-friendly. I work from home so I am available for boarding and drop-in visits any day as long as I received advance notice, otherwise I am pretty flexible. My home is your dog home while you are away. It is dog proof, with no sharp corners, many rugs, and use of gates to limit room access when needed, I live in the neighborhood of Montclair in Oakland, a house with a garden and surrounded by nature.
About: I have an extremely well rounded pet care history. I grew up with cats & dogs and have always been surrounded by people with all sorts of pets. From bottle fed kittens to assorted aquatic animals, I feel confident in my ability to provide the best possible care for any pet when supplied with adequate instruction. I pride myself in not only caring for your pets at the same level that you would but also in caring for and respecting your home. I am an independent contractor with full control of my hours so I can accomodate whatever schedule is needed. Please reach out to me with any scheduling questions or concerns :) I take caring for my pets extremely seriously, this also includes caring for the environment in which they live. This passion carries over into the way I treat other peoples pets & homes as well. I believe animals should always feel safe and loved by whoever is responsible for their care. I hold myself to the highest possible standard because I think your pets deserve it.
Merriwood dog parents share their Rover experiences
Christine was so helpful with Nara. I had never had a dog walker before and she was so accommodating. My dog was an escape artist and she suggested certain things that might help. She sent lots of pictures that made me feel comfortable when I was at work. I have now put my frisbee escape artist in daycare since she has anxiety about being alone but would use Christine again if the occasion arises.
Byung was absolutely wonderful! I hired him to walk my dog Riley at night while I was recovering from a broken leg, and he was consistently reliable and on time every single evening. He even helped with feeding Riley one night when I was out late for work. Riley adored him — he’d light up the moment he arrived. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I’ll definitely reach out to Byung again whenever I need help. Highly recommend!

Richard was incredible with our new puppy. Moro can be a bit of a handful, but Richard was so good to him on the walks and provided him with all the care he needed. We really appreciated Richard's timely communication and engaging updates. We even got a helpful doggy report card at the end of our vacation! Moro looks forward to spending more time with Richard in the future.
