“Zsa-zsa is phenomenal and did a great job caring for my old dog while I was out of town. She is communicative and kind and clearly has a way with the four-legged among us. She'll be our go-to-gal from here on out!”

About: I have always had pets, growing up it was cats and rats, now I have a senior Maltese cutie pie I adopted as a rescue 5 years ago. He is a joy and an honor to care for and has brought so much positivity and goodness into my life. I have dog and cat sat in personal settings, for my family and friends when they were out of town. I am familiar with a variety of dog breeds everything from Dachshunds to Great Danes. I have also cared for dogs and cats in a professional setting as well, the pets of my home healthcare clients. I have helped care for three legged cats, dogs with severe medical conditions, and dogs with high anxiety. It would be an honor to care for your loves! I am currently working as a substitute so I have a flexible schedule. I have a few days a week where I am available all day, and a few days where I am available for the afternoons/early evenings. I am always sure to put your pets needs first and make sure they are happy and comfortable. When I commit to a task I see it through and complete it according to instruction and to the best of my ability, especially when someone else’s welfare is at stake.
“And all around beautiful girl. Very well-versed in every possible situation that could arise, from a super hot day, to passing by a reactive dog Tucker anticipated his walk with her every time with a bark and wiggly butt!”

“Jennifer was lovely, attentive, and a great communicator. We just adopted our dog and he has little bursts of aggression and Jennifer was kind enough to come by before their first walk to test the waters. Everything turned out great and Jennifer sent updates and pictures throughout his walks. We will definitely work with her again.”

“Sandy is so sweet. Bella loved her. We hired her for a few walks while out of town and she was perfect. She ebbed can and met us before we left time to meet Bella. We will definitely hire her again!”

“David and Mabel were very easy to work with, had good communication, were flexible, and did a great job with our 2 dogs! Definitely recommend them and will use them again.”
About: Hello! My name is Mary. I am a lifelong pet owner and animal enthusiast. I grew up on a horse farm with dogs, cats, horses, hamsters, and the odd rogue toad, so caring for animals with love and respect is literally second nature. I'm a somatic embodiment coach by trade, so I have a unique skill set for helping animals feel relaxed and comfortable in my care. I have joyously fostered 20+ dogs and cats in their transition to forever homes, and have extensive experience with house and pet sitting. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and breeds, from 6 pound little weasels to 80 pound gentle giants. I have a special place in my heart for seniors (and have experience caring for them.) I am comfortable and experienced with administering medication. Because I work from home online and over zoom, I can accommodate animals that need a shorter window of alone time. I'd be delighted to treat your fur family with all the love and care I would give my own. I look forward to hearing from you! I have my own online business, so my schedule is very fluid and flexible. I love walking dogs and can easily do day or evening walks and stop-bys. I have experience with staying in many different homes and I know that every animal has its own unique routines, needs and rituals that help it feel in flow. I'm very happy to work with your pet in the way they are used to.
“Alejandra has been awesome! She is super trustworthy, sweet and my puppy loves her to bits. Thank you for taking such good care of my old boy. I am sure we will see you again soon!”
About: Hi! We are two animal lovers who have had pets of all kinds throughout our lives. Chrystal has raised dogs, cats, fish, iguanas, guinea pigs, and other small furry creatures. Daniel was raised on many acres with many furry and farm animals as pets. Our family consists of ourselves, 2 kids, and 2 adorable cats. Our sweet, large goof of a dog recently passed and we miss him dearly. We both work from home with a flexible schedule, so have plenty of opportunity to support your family's needs. We both have years of experience dog and cat sitting. We are comfortable and experienced with all breeds and ages and can provide medication as needed. Daniel is also uniquely skilled with larger dogs who need extra support, confidence, or attention when walking or near others. If your pet is not comfortable with kids and/or cats we can easily accommodate with scheduling and separation. Reach out with any questions and we look forward to meeting your furry family! We work from home with a flexible schedule and so can easily schedule time away during the day. One of us is available evenings as well. In the winter months we are away for the weekend, so only available weekdays (Sun eve - Fri midday) We like to know from you what makes your pet the most comfortable in their space. Any guidance is appreciated! We leave a space cleaner than we found it and are natural organizers. If you are traveling, We are particularly thoughtful about how you'd like to leave the house with lights on\off, etc.
“Natalie is super communicative and easy to work with. She’s very respectful in my home and always confirms all the tasks before leaving. I am definitely a repeat customer !”

“Adam took our Golden Retriever Kobe on two walks. He was great. Kobe was being a little difficult on his second walk, and Adam was very patient and even stayed to play with him for the last 20 minutes when he didn’t want to walk anymore.”

“We are so happy to have Irina walk our two corgis now that I’m returning to an office a few days each week. I think I probably had more separation anxiety than the pups, but it’s comforting knowing they get a visit with Irina and burn off some energy. We love the photos and card updates. Looking forward to many more walks!”

About: I am a genuine animal lover - especially dogs - and I will care for your pets as if they were my own precious beings. I am very responsible and will be a reliable source of company and support for your pet while you're unavailable. I have been around dogs and cats throughout my childhood and adulthood and I truly enjoy spending time with them - exercising, playing, affection, tummy rubs - these are some of the many ways to keep your pet engaged and happy. I also understand the important need for BOTH unconditional love and boundaries - I can use basic behavioral techniques to help train your dog. I look forward to meeting you and your sweet pet and to being a helpful presence in both of your lives. When I'm home and open for pet-sitting, I don't have any other commitments, other than to take care of your pet. I'll rarely leave them for more than a couple of hours at a time. I don't care for pets in my own home - I only do pet sitting (and house sitting) in someone else's home space - which I think is great for the pet!
About: My background spans a lifetime of animal husbandry, from raising horses, poultry, and rabbits on a hobby farm to specialized adult experience with iguanas and high-energy breeds. Most recently, I raised my Pitbull, Fang, from eight weeks old, giving me hands-on experience with puppy development, leash manners, and managing powerful, athletic dogs. I’ve also completed the American Red Cross online Pet First Aid course, adding emergency awareness and safety training to my practical experience. Whether it’s a backyard flock or a misunderstood breed, I provide confident, intuitive care built on decades of working with diverse species. Since my active hours are 8:00 PM to 1:00 PM, I am perfectly positioned for late-night check-ins, early-morning walks, and night-shift owners. My own routine includes three-hour morning adventures with my Pitbull, Fang, ensuring your pets receive high-energy exercise and dedicated attention while the rest of the world is still asleep. Safety and trust are paramount, especially when handling powerful breeds like my Pitbull, Fang. In my home or yours, I maintain a secure, hazard-free environment with a focus on clear boundaries and consistent routines. My "nocturnal" schedule ensures I am alert for late-night needs or early morning exercise when the neighborhood is quietest and safest for walks. Whether it’s managing high-energy dogs, specialized reptile habitats, or backyard flocks, I prioritize double-checking gates, monitoring health cues, and providing constant communication so you have total peace of mind while you are away.
About: My pug mix Lulu will LOVE to go on walks with your dog in the Oakland hills. Lulu loves all friends and has made so many furry friends in the neighborhood in Piedmont Pines. We are very active together and go on lots of walks, hikes and I take Lulu to Joaquin Miller dog park and Fairy Land dog meet up. I'd love to take your dog along on our adventures and host your dog at my house, or go for a drop in visit with Lulu at your house. We'll have so much fun together, especially with Lulu wanting to play constantly! Your dog's comfort and safety is my priority, and I also give them so many hugs and snuggles. Since I have my 2 year old Pug mix Lulu, we have a great routine together that includes morning and afternoon walks and taking her to dog parks in the evening. She also has her best friends up the street on Ascot and we go play with them a bunch of times in the week. Lulu's happiness and joy is my priority, and we prioritize being outside for playtime and hikes as much as possible. I'll be sure to include this care for your pets as well because they deserve to have the most fun possible!! I currently work a couple part time jobs and my schedule is very flexible. Pet care is easy for me at the moment. I try my absolute best to keep everything as safe and as comfortable as possible at my home for the dogs!! They are my priority :) I always keep a good eye on them when they are in the backyard, and I never leave them fully alone when they are outside. They also get endless cuddles from me throughout the day, which I hope helps them feel comforted and safe with me :)
About: I offer dedicated care, with years of dog walking experience, training & loving my own dogs —ensuring comfort, play, and tailored attention for every pup <3 I'm currently a full time student & spend most days working on assignments from home! This leaves me with free time to care for pets! I have a fenced in yard at my home & have plenty of experience caring for my own pups as well as dog sitting/walking dogs in my neighborhood!
“Extremely reliable, was able to make a last minute time change. Barkerini seemed very comfortable with her, and now greets her at the door. Jena is going to be a big help when I need to be gone for the day ;-)”

About: Even as I pursued a new path and became a geographer after earning my degree from UC Berkeley, my love for dogs has remained constant. Since 2011, I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all kinds...puppies to seniors, from Pomeranians to Labradors, and even the occasional Siamese cat. I truly enjoy being around animals and continue to offer dog boarding because I genuinely love their company. I share my home with Lola, a large, goofy, and very friendly pup who gets along with everyone—humans and dogs alike. As a result, I’m only able to board dogs who are also dog-friendly. I work from home so I am available for boarding and drop-in visits any day as long as I received advance notice, otherwise I am pretty flexible. My home is your dog home while you are away. It is dog proof, with no sharp corners, many rugs, and use of gates to limit room access when needed, I live in the neighborhood of Montclair in Oakland, a house with a garden and surrounded by nature.
Montclair dog parents share their Rover experiences
Ananda was wonderful with our pups. We have a very shy skittish girl who warmed up to Ananda immediately. Our wild boy also adored her and couldn't wait to see her arrive for walks. Quiet and calm,Ananda was timely, communicated about the pups walks and great with our dogs. I highly recommend her.

I am very happy to have found Chloe on Rover. She's a super nice person, and my dog, Raffi, is in love with her. She's helped me out for 2 weeks, and she's been on time every day, gives good long walks, and always gives me a heads up when she's on her way. She's also flexible when I had to make some last minute changes in schedule. I highly recommend her for your dog walking needs. MY dog will miss her!
Laura is awesome! She pays close attention to our reactive pup's cues and works to stay within her comfort zone to have a successful walk. Laura also has super communication, sending detailed updates and walk reports. We're so grateful for her reliable care!

Yonte took incredibly good care of my dog over an extended period of time and I am very grateful for her support. My dog has some behavioral reactivity and Yonte was willing to put in the time to get to know how best to care for her. She then took care of my dog for several months, going above and beyond to meet her needs for exercise and love. I would trust Yonte with all pet sitting, from short walks to extended stays. She definitely has an intuitive sense with pets and is very loving with them. She is also incredibly kind and easy to work with. I cannot recommend Yonte highly enough for the extraordinary care and love she puts into pet sitting! Thank you, Yonte!

Christine was so helpful with Nara. I had never had a dog walker before and she was so accommodating. My dog was an escape artist and she suggested certain things that might help. She sent lots of pictures that made me feel comfortable when I was at work. I have now put my frisbee escape artist in daycare since she has anxiety about being alone but would use Christine again if the occasion arises.
