About: I love taking area dogs for lovely walks in the neighborhood and looking to expand with a few more clients. I'm currently pursuing Veterinary Assistant certification online. I'm also a small dog volunteer at Oakland Animal Services and occationally foster dogs in need. I'm currently self-employed working out of my home with a very flexible schedule provide services. I am available morning, mid-day and evening walks on weekdays. I suggest arranging a meet and greet to get to know each other and see if it's a good fit. I would like to understand about the pet's personality, routine and any special needs.

About: Hello! My name is Mary. I am a lifelong pet owner and animal enthusiast. I grew up on a horse farm with dogs, cats, horses, hamsters, and the odd rogue toad, so caring for animals with love and respect is literally second nature. I'm a somatic embodiment coach by trade, so I have a unique skill set for helping animals feel relaxed and comfortable in my care. I have joyously fostered 20+ dogs and cats in their transition to forever homes, and have extensive experience with house and pet sitting. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and breeds, from 6 pound little weasels to 80 pound gentle giants. I have a special place in my heart for seniors (and have experience caring for them.) I am comfortable and experienced with administering medication. Because I work from home online and over zoom, I can accommodate animals that need a shorter window of alone time. I'd be delighted to treat your fur family with all the love and care I would give my own. I look forward to hearing from you! I have my own online business, so my schedule is very fluid and flexible. I love walking dogs and can easily do day or evening walks and stop-bys. I have experience with staying in many different homes and I know that every animal has its own unique routines, needs and rituals that help it feel in flow. I'm very happy to work with your pet in the way they are used to.

“We are so thankful for Elizabeth! She is great with our energetic French bulldog! She takes him out to different areas and parks to walk and explore. Lando loves it!”

“Ziggy was so excited to see Melissa for his second walk with her, and he was completely bushed when he got back. What more could you ask for?”

“Osaze, has worked my Joey a few times and is always on time and really makes secure she gets a good long walk instead of meandering down the street like some dog walkers.”

“Mango loved her first walk with Alexis! Looking forward to many more adventures.”

“Maia was great! Very friendly and you can tell she loves animals. She went out of her way to make sure my often anxious dog felt comfortable around her. Recommend.”

About: I have taken care of this little angle since I was a little girl, I sheltered, feed and loved them , they are main part of my life. I live with my two lovelycats , and have a lot free hours to spend with these little angles . Everyone knows me as a serious animal lover. I have 2 cats in my home, a fenced balcony and a safe place to live with them . I love pets as my own family.

About: Hi there, my name is Sheelah. I've grown up with animals my whole life, but had to leave them behind once I started college. In the years since, I have developed a passion for caring for other people's animals, and get a lot of satisfaction from providing quality reliable care that puts pet-parents at ease. While growing up, at any given time we'd have 2-4 birds, 2-3 dogs (Rhodesian Ridgebacks and one German Shepard) and up to 5 cats (we took in the stray "foreclosure kitties"). I'm well versed in all forms of animal care, including the ominous tasks of bathing cats and administering medications via food or water. I have over a decade of informal experience walking dogs of about 100 pounds, and am quite comfortable with animals of all sizes. I'm a marathon-runner, so even a full day of the most energetic pups can't tire me out. I've always treated my pets like family and will show the same respect and consideration for yours! My schedule varies depending on which city I'm working in, but I love animals and they are a priority throughout my daily routine. As long as I have 24 hours notice prior to a scheduled walk, I can make it work. My primary job is remote (I work in Environmental Justice, primarily grant-writint and organizing) so I have some flexibility with my schedule. I have completed over 60 sits on TrustedHousesitter in the last 3 years. Afternoons and evenings are usually the best times for walks, but I can accommodate an early-riser if needed. I'm experienced with reactive dogs and am comfortable walking multiple dogs at once (even large breeds) but do let me know if your pup needs a solo walk and I will ensure that they get that. My top priorities are always the health and safety of the animals I care for. I like to meet and greet the dogs I walk with the owner present first, if possible, so they can establish familiarity with my scent and presence. I'm comfortable walking/caring for reactive dogs, and love high-energy animals that need a lot of exercise. It's tick and foxtail season, and I always check the dogs I care for for both of those after every walk.

About: 🐾💖 🐾 Hi, I’m Lee—a lifelong dog lover based in Oakland, CA. My home is designed with small dogs (≤15 lbs) in mind, featuring cozy lounging spots and a large, secure backyard with new turf—perfect for play and sunbathing. As a remote worker, I'm home most of the day and ensure dogs are never left alone for long; if I step out for more than an hour, a trusted local friend comes over to care for the pups. 🐕 Dogs 🐕 in my care are treated like family—they’re welcome on the furniture, receive tons of love, and enjoy a tailored experience that includes playtime, gentle walks, enrichment activities, or plenty of couch snuggles. 🌈 I take extra pride in working with shy, senior, and special-needs pups, making sure every dog feels safe, seen, and spoiled. 🏡 A Typical Day in My Care 🏡 Each day begins with attentive potty breaks and a gentle introduction to the fresh turf, allowing pups to explore at their own pace. After a nourishing breakfast, we engage in a balanced mix of interactive play, affectionate cuddles, and serene indoor relaxation. Dogs are encouraged to bask in the sun, frolic with toys, or curl up on the couch with me and my two friendly senior resident pups, Carl and Midge. 📅 Throughout the day, I maintain a structured routine that includes regular potty breaks, stimulating backyard activities, leisurely neighborhood walks, and ample downtime. This thoughtful schedule ensures a calm and enjoyable atmosphere, tailored to each dog's individual needs. 🌙💤 As evening approaches, we wind down with more outdoor time, gentle bonding on the couch, and a peaceful night, ensuring every pup feels secure and cherished. 🩺 Experience with Special-Needs Pups 🩺 I have extensive experience caring for dogs with various special needs, including: - Medication Administration: Both oral and injectable medications. - Blindness & Deafness: Adapting communication and environment for comfort. - Diabetes: Monitoring and managing dietary needs and insulin schedules. - Incontinence: Providing regular potty breaks and maintaining hygiene. - Heart Failure: Observing for symptoms and ensuring a low-stress environment. ⭐ I approach each pup with patience, empathy, and a commitment to their well-being, ensuring they receive the personalized care they deserve. 🐾 Pet care is an integral part of my daily routine. As a remote worker, I'm home most of the time, which allows me to provide constant care and attention to the dogs in my care. Each day begins with potty breaks and a calm introduction to the outdoor space, followed by breakfast and a mix of interactive play, walks, and cozy moments on the couch. I prioritize structure, ensuring there are regular potty breaks, enrichment activities, and downtime for every pup, whether they're playful or need a more relaxed pace. With two resident senior pups, Carl and Midge, I incorporate bonding time with them as well, creating a peaceful, inclusive environment. I also make sure special-needs pups, including those with medications or other health concerns, are carefully monitored and receive the personalized attention they need throughout the day. This routine ensures that every dog feels loved, safe, and relaxed, fitting seamlessly into my work-from-home lifestyle. ❤️ 🏠❤️ At my home, I prioritize safety and trust by creating a secure environment where dogs feel comfortable and cared for. My backyard is fully enclosed with new turf, providing a safe space for pups to play and relax. Inside, dogs have access to cozy lounging spots and plenty of places to rest. I maintain a structured routine with regular potty breaks, interactive play, and walks to ensure each dog’s needs are met. For dogs with special needs or medical requirements, I’m experienced with administering medications and providing additional care to make them feel secure and comfortable. Trust is crucial, so I make sure to communicate openly with pet parents and maintain consistency in the care I provide. I closely supervise all interactions to ensure safety, whether with my own resident dogs or pups in my care. If I need to step out, a trusted friend comes over to ensure the dogs are never left alone for long. Whether in my home or a client’s, I maintain a calm, secure, and enriching environment where every dog feels loved and protected.

“Brenna was able to walk Pumpkin on very short notice; she cheerfully followed all directions and advice. I'd be happy to rebook Brenna any time needed.”

“I was very pleased with Lucas’ care for Brutus and give him 5 well-deserved stars! From the very beginning, he was professional, timely and communicative. He provided regular updates during his walks and was wonderful with Brutus. He followed instructions to a tee and was a great listener. I came home to a happy & blissfully tired Brutus everyday this week. I’d recommend Lucas to anyone looking for a caring and efficient dog walker :)”

“Zihir is super awesome and goes above and beyond to take care of my dog. I am very happy with dog walking and appreciate the flexibility and reliability.”

About: I’ve always been in tune with animals, from an early age when my cat had kittens. I learned to care from them at their earliest stages in life until we sent them off to their new homes, except for one, Star, who I got to see grow into her older years. I’ve had cats and a dog as an adult, and have cared for them through illness, difficult training, and loved them all the way. I’ve also been able to look after pets for family and friends over the years. It would be a privilege to care for your pet. I am currently working part time, so I have plenty of time to work with you! My schedule is very open at the moment. My roommate works from home and is also incredibly supportive—if your dog stays with us, they will never be alone! Care and safety are the most important parts of supporting you with your fur baby. I am confident I will be able to respect your home and that I will make your pet welcome in mine. I spend dedicated time at the start to acclimate them to new circumstances, and continue to work with them to make sure they have what they need while you are away.

About: Even though I haven’t walked any dogs yet I would like to bond with them and have fun with them and enjoy their company with them. I currently have one job over the weekends and I’m currently in a program and I get out at 12pm during the week from Monday to Thursday I can keep them company and make them feel safe and let them play with some toys can take them out for walks and get to know them

About: Our pets are family. My approach is a balance of attention and simple structure that makes for happy socialization. My partner and I have always had cats and dogs and I have experience with everything from puppyhood to the special healthcare challenges of senior pets (including administration of oral meds and injected insulin) I used to walk dogs back in college as a part-time job. Now, I am excited to make some new 4-legged friends and get out for some exercise together. I work from home part-time and with a very flexible schedule. I do long walks in the morning and afternoon and, if staying with us, in addition to walks, your doggie will have full access to the yard during the day to sunbathe and play. If house sitting at yours, I will be on hand with your pet at a minimum in the morning, for a few hours mid-day, and then all evening and night. We have a large fenced yard and two small, friendly pups (9lb young female yorkie and 12lb female coton de tulear) to play with. "The girls" are not crated at night, but I am happy to set up your pup's normal sleeping area if staying with us. For dog walking, I do 30-45 minute adventures with priority given to clients located in Oakland's Laurel, Dimond, Maxwell Park, and Redwood Heights neighborhoods. Ideally, your dog loves walking with some friends, but we can customize for personal pup needs.

About: Most of my experience revolves around taking care of my own animals and taking care of them growing up. I have always enjoyed being around animals and making sure they are cared for. My partner is a vet tech in training and has shared a lot of her knowledge with me. I’m a currently working part-time so I am very flexible when it comes to what times you would prefer visits for your animals. I am fully available for overnight visits. My job does keep me till 10-11pm occasionally, but I open to do visits those nights as well. Caring for clients with animals that need a little extra attention and care is absolutely not a problem. One of my cats has to be on a very specific diet due to his medical issues and i’ve always worried about leaving them with a pet sitter. But i would be more than happy to listen and fulfill any extra steps that your animals need.

“Zsa-zsa is phenomenal and did a great job caring for my old dog while I was out of town. She is communicative and kind and clearly has a way with the four-legged among us. She'll be our go-to-gal from here on out!”

“Emma, is really one of the best pet sitters we’ve ever had. She is really professional and most importantly caring and loving towards our dogs. She is really in her element with animals as she is proactive about giving them plenty of attention and walks. We are so happy to consider her our primary go-to dog care taker. 4. Mary L.
“Mary has been a volunteer foster mom to many dogs from shelters in our area over the years, and I've seen firsthand the loving care she's provided to them. She's received dogs with behavioral or medical needs who could not be placed with others. I've observed some who were recovering from trauma/abuse begin to trust again as a result of Mary's care and kindness. Mary also looked after my beloved 16-year-old dog on a couple of occasions when I had to travel, provided the extra support she needed, and I was so grateful and confident that my beloved was in good hands. Finally, and oh my goodness, how Mary loved her own dog, Winnie! What a love story. Anyone would be very fortunate to have Mary care for their dog(s).”
