Leah took wonderful care of our dog, Nutmeg, while we were away for 10 days. She gave us complete peace of mind by providing daily updates with photos, which made it so reassuring to see how well Nutmeg was doing. Leah carefully followed all of the instructions we left and treated both Nutmeg and our home with great care and respect. It was clear that she genuinely cared about Nutmeg’s well-being, and we came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and a house that was just as we left it. We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter and would absolutely book Leah again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and reliable to care for their pets.

What a great gal! She is so caring to people and animals. Our 3 dogs loved her so much and she was so good about walking them and sending us pictures all day long. We felt totally secure with her taking care of our babies for a whole day! I only wish we were staying in this area so we could use her services again. Would not hesitate to call her and if you need a recommendation, please get in touch with me! She also was on time and so polite!

This was my first time using Lisa to house sit but definitely not the last. She was responsive and took excellent care of my three dogs ranging in age from 6 months to 16 years old. I received detailed updates and lots of pictures. This has been one of my best experiences with Rover and I have been using it for many years. Lisa is excellent!

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since middle school and have loved every minute of it! I’m a certified veterinary assistant with 3 years of hands-on experience and currently working toward becoming a licensed veterinary technician. I also volunteer at the Houston SPCA, where I gained even more experience working with pets of all kinds and personalities. Having had animals my whole life, I truly understand how much they mean to their families. Whether it’s a walk, a drop-in visit, or just extra cuddles, I’ll always treat your pets like my own—with love, patience, and plenty of attention. I currently work weekdays from 10am–6pm and Saturdays from 9am–2pm, with Wednesdays and Sundays completely off. I plan my pet care services around my work schedule, making time for morning and evening walks or drop-in visits during the week, as well as more flexible availability on my off days. Sundays and Wednesdays are perfect for longer visits, extra playtime, or multiple walks. I always make sure every pet gets the attention, exercise, and care they deserve—no matter how busy the day! 🐾 When I visit a client’s home, I always make sure pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable right away. During drop-ins, I follow each pet’s routine—whether that’s feeding, playtime, potty breaks, or giving extra cuddles and attention. For walks, I keep things fun and active while making safety my top priority, always using secure leashes and paying attention to each dog’s comfort level. I treat every pet like my own, making sure they’re happy, relaxed, and well cared for until their favorite human returns!

Natalie is AMAZING!! She did a meet and greet with us and it was clear from the start how much she loved animals. Aside from instructions, she got on the floor and engaged with our cats. While on our trip, she sent us pictures, videos and updates for all three cats. Eventually, even our shy cat came out and began hanging out in the common area; she made sure to check on him everytime she came over. She was amazing with communicating when she was on her way and heading out, too. While we were gone, she even cleaned up litter from the floor and tidied uo our place. She is phenomenal, we really appreciate Natalie so much!

About: Hello my name is Alejandra! I have been a veterinary technician for 6+ years and have 10 years of experience in pet care. I am a loving and compassionate person and have a soft spot for senior dogs and bully breeds. I am a firm believer that pets are a huge part of the family and should be treated as such! I am currently a stay at home mom but have a flexible schedule. With my job history I am comfortable with all breeds of dogs and cats and exotic or pocket pets. I am able to medicate and administer injections and perform nail trims (if your pet will allow me to trim nails) . I am available for pet sitting in my home, or dropping by your house for playtime/walks or feedings. I look forward to hearing from you!

About: I will keep families updated, send pictures of their fur babies, and provide great care! I have experience with pets of all backgrounds- including those who face health challenges, and can assure every family that their loved ones are in good hands. I work a very part-time job, but am very open even during the days I do work. A shift usually looks like 12-6pm, or 5-9pm. So, I visit before or after work. If house-sitting then I will go to work from the house, and back to the house! My 2 dogs at home are diabetic/epileptic, so I am familiar with keeping pets in a routine. My dogs are on a strict medication schedule, and I am familiar with giving medicines and foods twice a day. They are let outside whenever they want, get cuddles all the time, exercise and play together a lot. I don’t board animals at my house, due to my dogs and their health.

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, so I’m very comfortable caring for pets of all personalities and needs. In addition to household pets, I’ve also raised cattle and goats through FFA, which has given me a strong foundation in responsibility, patience, and working with animals that require daily care and attention. This experience has taught me how to stay consistent, follow instructions closely, and notice small changes in animal behavior or health. What sets me apart is that I don’t just “watch” animals, I genuinely care for them and understand how to handle both calm and more challenging situations. Whether it’s feeding, cleaning, walking, or just spending time with them, I make sure every animal feels safe, comfortable, and cared for like they’re my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine since I’ve grown up around animals my whole life. I’m used to helping with feeding, cleaning, and general care for pets at home, and I also make time for walking, playing, and checking in on their needs regularly. I attend school from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and I sometimes have a few responsibilities after school, but I’m pretty flexible and good at managing my time. Through FFA, I previously raised cattle and goats, which taught me responsibility, consistency, and how important it is to stick to a care routine and pay attention to animals’ needs. School will be ending soon, so I will be even more available and flexible during the summer, which will allow me to take on more pet sitting opportunities and give pets more consistent care and attention. In my client’s home, I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure while their owner is away. I make sure to follow all instructions for feeding, fresh water, walks, litter box cleaning, and any medications if needed. I also spend time with the pets to give them attention, playtime, and companionship based on their personality and comfort level. I always make sure to keep their space clean, safe, and respected, and I check in on them consistently so they feel cared for and not alone. My goal is to treat every pet like my own and keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible.

About: Hi y’all! I’m Jackson, and I am a huge animal lover. I’ve lived with at least 2 dogs my entire life, and I now have 4 dogs waiting for me back home in Houston. My animals received many, many walks while under my care. I’ve dog sat for countless neighbors, family friends, and strangers, and I’m no stranger to scoopin’ some poop. My oldest pooch is 18 years old, and I’m more than aware of the stubbornness that age brings along. I’ve raised many puppies too, so I’m familiar with the nuance of tender yet firm care. I’d love to get to know and provide top-notch care for your animals, if you’d let me! I am a full time student at UTSA. I have class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, so Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends are more than often available. I try to visit home once a month to spend time with my family, including my dogs, so I’d love to fill this canine void I experience here in San Antonio. I have been the owner and the stranger to untrusting dogs, so I’ve gathered the best way to approach these kind of animals from both sides. I have no issue with getting on their level, exercising patience, or crating. I pick up on mannerisms and comfort levels easily, and I can adapt to the needs of each animal efficiently.

We were so happy to find Tuongvi for our two girls. Our elder dog, Peggy, has several medical conditions that require specific and timely care. Our younger dog, Jordan, has a lot of anxiety and distrust new people. Needless to say, we had specific needs and concerns. Tuongvi was fantastic! She came by for several meet-and-greets to make sure that our girls would be comfortable with her. Her regular, daily photos showed us how happy and comfortable our girls were with her and her partner. In fact, I am pretty sure our girls went looking for them the night we came home! Dakota is definitely our new favorite Sitter!! She was so sweet to come a day before and meet the dogs and run through everything, and the puppies immediately took to her. She has a lot of experience working with dogs and it definitely shows. She was very attentive to all our dogs needs and was very communicative sharing photos and updates while we were gone, which was so appreciated. It’s much less stressful leaving the dogs when you’re confident and comfortable with who you’re leaving them with. She stayed in her home with our dogs so their routine did not change and they were happy the entire time. 10 out of 10 would recommend Dakota every single time.

FAQs for House Sitting - Cinco Ranch

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Cinco Ranch on Rover is $39.96 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 3,200 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cinco Ranch. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cinco Ranch walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cinco Ranch maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cinco Ranch choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cinco Ranch. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
