“Leah took wonderful care of our dog, Nutmeg, while we were away for 10 days. She gave us complete peace of mind by providing daily updates with photos, which made it so reassuring to see how well Nutmeg was doing. Leah carefully followed all of the instructions we left and treated both Nutmeg and our home with great care and respect. It was clear that she genuinely cared about Nutmeg’s well-being, and we came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and a house that was just as we left it. We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter and would absolutely book Leah again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and reliable to care for their pets.”

About: Dogs are wonderful companions with so much love to give. They truly become part of the family, and each one has a unique personality that makes them special! Whether your dog is staying in our home, enjoying a walk, or receiving care in the comfort of their own home, my goal is always the same—to provide loving, dependable care so you can enjoy your time away with complete peace of mind. For boarding guests, a typical day is active, playful, and full of attention. Our children absolutely love the furry friends who stay with us, so it's important that your pup is comfortable around kids, too. While you're away, your dog won't simply be boarded—they'll become part of our family's daily routine. Whether we're heading to the park, going for a walk, or spending time together at home, your pup will be right there with us. If you've booked dog walks or in-home pet care, you can rest assured your pet will receive the same thoughtful attention. I'll make sure they get plenty of exercise, fresh water, affection, and companionship while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for until you're back home. To help every guest feel comfortable, I do have a few house rules for boarding. Dogs are not allowed on the couches or beds, but they certainly won't miss out on affection! We happily spend plenty of time on the floor giving belly rubs, cuddles, and lap time whenever they want extra love. You can enjoy your time away knowing your dog will be welcomed, cared for, and treated like one of our own. After caring for many dogs, I've learned that keeping things simple and maintaining excellent hygiene creates the best experience for everyone. Before your dog's stay, please consider the following: Bring your dog's leash and harness. Pack enough food for the entire stay, along with their food bowl. Please bring plenty of poop bags. We enjoy frequent walks, and all that exercise often means more potty breaks than usual! When it comes to toys, blankets, and other personal belongings, less is often better. Dogs sharing a home can sometimes become protective of their favorite items, so packing lightly helps create a calmer and safer environment for everyone. If possible, please bathe your dog before boarding. Freshly bathed dogs are more comfortable for themselves and the other guests. Also, keep in mind that blankets, beds, and toys can hold odors if they haven't been washed recently. Thank you for taking the time to review these guidelines. I truly appreciate your help in making every pet's experience safe, clean, and enjoyable. Whether your companion is staying with us, enjoying a walk, or being cared for at home, I'll treat them with the same love and attention I'd want for my own pets. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member. Safe travels! Pet care is fully integrated into my daily routine. In my home, pets become part of the household and are cared for just like my own—following our natural rhythm of meals, walks, playtime, rest, and evening wind-down with consistent supervision and attention throughout the day. For check-ins and home visits, I plan my schedule around your pet’s needs, ensuring timely visits for feeding, potty breaks, exercise, and companionship. I make sure each visit is unrushed and focused, maintaining your pet’s routine and comfort while you're away. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my priority. I provide a loving, family environment with daily walks, supervised play in our fenced dog park, and a secure gated indoor area when needed. For check-ins and home visits, I ensure timely, attentive care with feeding, potty breaks, exercise, and companionship to keep your pet comfortable and on routine while you’re away.
“Elisa was very attentive to our 5 dogs while my sister and I were away! She made sure to send lots of pictures and videos, and was really responsive whenever I had questions or wanted to check in.”

“Sydney was absolutely wonderful! Before our appointment, she took the time to meet Mona, get familiar with our area, and understand all of her needs. On the day of the appointment, she was punctual, and kept me updated throughout, which I really appreciate it. Most importantly, Mona was so happy to spend time with her! I highly recommend Sydney and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Thank you Sydney!!!”

“Allison was amazing with our girls Milli and Maxi. She was responsive with all her replies, our special requests and we felt at ease with Allison taling care of our girls at home. The babies always had big smiles and were always very relaxed. Thanks for all the updates and a great job all around. The girls look forward to her next visit.”

“Gina is so great!! I’ve had her do several drop-ins for my boys and even house sitting over the weekend, and she has such great communication every time. She’s so loving with my babies that are a little high maintenance. So thankful to have her!!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life! We had a family dog when I was growing up and I would house/ pet sit for my neighbors when they would go out of town. I currently have three fur babies. A 2 year old Cane Corso/ Stafford Terrier named Moose, a 2 year old pit bull mix named Oakley and a cat named Romeo! Having three animals under one roof has been quite the experience but I’ve loved every moment of the chaos. Since I currently work from home full time I’m available Monday- Sunday most weeks and my schedule is pretty flexible. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. Working from home allows me to keep a close eye on your baby and adhere to whatever potty break or play schedule you have set.

About: I have always loved animals of all kinds, and I will ensure your furry friends are treated as if they were my own. I have always lived with cats and dogs and have cared for all sorts, from low maintenance "living plants" to buddies who need extra care and support due to age or ailment. I have an extremely flexible schedule so I can adapt to whatever routine you and your pets are used to, whether that's early morning walks or late night feedings. I can do it all with ease. I will abide by any and all rules you have for both your house and your pets and I will make sure they are followed to the strictest interpretation.
About: I’ve been a dog owner for 8 years, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I personally provide all pet care and handle every part of the boarding experience myself. I treat every dog like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. 🐾 I currently stay at home, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate my full attention to your pet. I personally handle all care and will be 100% attentive to your dog throughout the day, making sure they receive plenty of attention, care, supervision, and companionship. 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first. I provide a calm, clean, and loving environment where pets can feel relaxed and at home. I also make sure to follow each owner’s routines and instructions closely. 🐾
“Joann responded quickly to a last minute request and came over to meet our two cats and two dogs! She house sit for us for the weekend and sent pictures of our babies having fun. Everyone was happy and healthy when we returned!”

About: I have been a rescuer of pets (dogs, mostly) for the entirety of my life! Dogs, cats, chickens, birds, fish, rabbits, ducks, goats, lambs to name a few. I cannot imagine my life without pets! I would be honored if you trusted me with your fur-babies. I am about to retire, and am looking forward to doing something I've always dreamed of. I am looking forward making your time away easier for you both! I love animals. This should be a grand time! In the morning and evening it will be feed and play time. I will spend time petting and talking to your pet and send you pics and updates, daily or more..
“Natalie is AMAZING!! She did a meet and greet with us and it was clear from the start how much she loved animals. Aside from instructions, she got on the floor and engaged with our cats. While on our trip, she sent us pictures, videos and updates for all three cats. Eventually, even our shy cat came out and began hanging out in the common area; she made sure to check on him everytime she came over. She was amazing with communicating when she was on her way and heading out, too. While we were gone, she even cleaned up litter from the floor and tidied uo our place. She is phenomenal, we really appreciate Natalie so much!”

“Absolutely sweetheart!! I trusted her with my two polar opposite dogs and she did absolutely amazing!! Stayed with them all day so they didn’t have to be in a cage all day. She was very responsive and send updates throughout the day. 10/10 would recommend and rebook again!!”

About: I will keep families updated, send pictures of their fur babies, and provide great care! I have experience with pets of all backgrounds- including those who face health challenges, and can assure every family that their loved ones are in good hands. Price ranges depending on what you need and how far you live :) I work a very part-time job, but am very open even during the days I do work. A shift usually looks like 12-6pm, or 5-9pm. So, I visit before or after work. If house-sitting then I will go to work from the house, and back to the house! My 2 dogs at home are diabetic/epileptic, so I am familiar with keeping pets in a routine. My dogs are on a strict medication schedule, and I am familiar with giving medicines and foods twice a day. They are let outside whenever they want, get cuddles all the time, exercise and play together a lot. I don’t board animals at my house, due to my dogs and their health.
About: I've cared for dogs and cats throughout high school, college, and now into my remote-working career. I used to be an active Rover sitter in Houston with several recurring pups that I loved. I recently moved back home to Katy to help support my mom during her cancer treatments, and I really miss being around dogs. That's why I am re-opening my schedule for dog-walking, cat-sitting, house-sitting, and drop in services! I'd love to bring some extra joy back into my daily routine. I currently work from home, so I am available to walk your dog or check in on your cats before working hours (before 9 a.m.) and after working hours (after 5 p.m.). If you live close enough, I may be able to check in mid-day as well. In my own home, my pets are treated like royalty! I have my dog, Ollie, three cats (Tom, Luna, and Belle), and a crested gecko (Leia). Safe to say, I am an animal lover. Because I have a lot of pets, I am looking to offer dog walking and in-home check-ins for your dogs, cats, or other animals (I have reptile experience).
About: I grew up with my grandparents who always had a love for community service, outdoor activities and animals! Here I am, a product of their love and I continue to give just that! I'm an avid foster animal parent and recent cat lover (Greta - 10 and Hanz -9 are my first cat babies). I also have experience with elder animals, administrating medication, special dietary needs, allergies and care to pets after surgery. I'm a work from home mama, so I'm able to create flexibility and care where need be. Other than taking and picking up my little one to school, I'll be there to provide care for any of your fur babies needs. If your loved one LOVES car rides too, then let's ride! ***Boarding Check in/out - Please note this is a 24hr stay AT MOST if booked for 1 day. Ex: drop off at 9am and pickup at 9am the following day. Additional fees will apply if you are more than 30 mins late without any notice/heads up unless you pre-booked for more than one day.*** I will inquire about your pets needs prior to confirming the booking on my end. Does your pet get a long with other animals, how are they around kiddos, do they have a special place in the home they're most comfortable at, are a few questions I'll ask to ensure they have a comfortable visit.

Chad did a great job taking care of our animals while we were away. He consistently communicated and sent lots of pictures to ease our minds. When he was out of the house, he put pet videos on the tv for them and made sure to give them a lot of play time and attention. We look forward to working with Chad again!

Allison was amazing with our girls Milli and Maxi. She was responsive with all her replies, our special requests and we felt at ease with Allison taling care of our girls at home. The babies always had big smiles and were always very relaxed. Thanks for all the updates and a great job all around. The girls look forward to her next visit.

Laura was amazing!! She cordinated a meet and greet, took notes/pictures, asked questions about my fur babies. During our vacation she provided updates, pictures, and was very attentive of our animals. Not only were my pets well taken care of when I returned, but she left my home clean and organized. I really appreciate her attention to details and I'm excited to book her again!! Thank you Laura.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Katy on Rover is $48.84 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,036 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Katy. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Katy walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Katy maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Katy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Katy. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
