“Sydney was absolutely wonderful! Before our appointment, she took the time to meet Mona, get familiar with our area, and understand all of her needs. On the day of the appointment, she was punctual, and kept me updated throughout, which I really appreciate it. Most importantly, Mona was so happy to spend time with her! I highly recommend Sydney and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Thank you Sydney!!!”

About: I've cared for dogs and cats throughout high school, college, and now into my remote-working career. I used to be an active Rover sitter in Houston with several recurring pups that I loved. I recently moved back home to Katy to help support my mom during her cancer treatments, and I really miss being around dogs. That's why I am re-opening my schedule for dog-walking, cat-sitting, house-sitting, and drop in services! I'd love to bring some extra joy back into my daily routine. I currently work from home, so I am available to walk your dog or check in on your cats before working hours (before 9 a.m.) and after working hours (after 5 p.m.). If you live close enough, I may be able to check in mid-day as well. In my own home, my pets are treated like royalty! I have my dog, Ollie, three cats (Tom, Luna, and Belle), and a crested gecko (Leia). Safe to say, I am an animal lover. Because I have a lot of pets, I am looking to offer dog walking and in-home check-ins for your dogs, cats, or other animals (I have reptile experience).
“Sydney was absolutely wonderful! She stayed with our German Shepherd and tripod Lab for 5 nights, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Before the stay, she took the time to come meet us and our dogs, and she asked thoughtful questions that showed how much she genuinely cares about animals and wants to provide the best care possible. Throughout our trip, she sent daily updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dogs were happy and well cared for. It’s clear that Sydney truly loves dogs. She was attentive, responsible, communicative, and treated our pups like they were her own. As a recent college graduate, she is incredibly mature, dependable, and professional. We came home to two happy dogs and a clean house. We would not hesitate to book Sydney again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Gonzalo, Juliana’s brother and Judy’s son, house sat our girls for a 2.5wk period. We were extremely nervous at first as it was the first time ever that we left the girls at home, let alone for such a long period of time, but we couldn’t have asked for a better match than Gonzalo. He cared for the girls as if they were his own and they were super happy and well cared for. We will definitely book Gonzalo again for all future trips!! Thank you!!”

“Absolutely sweetheart!! I trusted her with my two polar opposite dogs and she did absolutely amazing!! Stayed with them all day so they didn’t have to be in a cage all day. She was very responsive and send updates throughout the day. 10/10 would recommend and rebook again!!”

About: I have always loved animals of all kinds, and I will ensure your furry friends are treated as if they were my own. I have always lived with cats and dogs and have cared for all sorts, from low maintenance "living plants" to buddies who need extra care and support due to age or ailment. I have an extremely flexible schedule so I can adapt to whatever routine you and your pets are used to, whether that's early morning walks or late night feedings. I can do it all with ease. I will abide by any and all rules you have for both your house and your pets and I will make sure they are followed to the strictest interpretation.
“Jasmine stayed with our 2 dogs while we were on vacation for 4 nights! Our dogs are picky about who they like and they warmed up to her super quick during the first meet and greet. She took great care of them and the house as well. We got updates each day and she responded quickly when we reached out to her!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life! We had a family dog when I was growing up and I would house/ pet sit for my neighbors when they would go out of town. I currently have three fur babies. A 2 year old Cane Corso/ Stafford Terrier named Moose, a 2 year old pit bull mix named Oakley and a cat named Romeo! Having three animals under one roof has been quite the experience but I’ve loved every moment of the chaos. Since I currently work from home full time I’m available Monday- Sunday most weeks and my schedule is pretty flexible. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. Working from home allows me to keep a close eye on your baby and adhere to whatever potty break or play schedule you have set.
“Elisa was very attentive to our 5 dogs while my sister and I were away! She made sure to send lots of pictures and videos, and was really responsive whenever I had questions or wanted to check in.”

“Ryan was absolutely what I was looking for! Reliable, professional, & trusting! After my last rover experience I was a bit hesitant what would happen when booking someone else; however, Ryan did not fail to amaze! He checked in on my pups multiple times a day, fed them and sent pictures in which they looked very content. I feel very comfortable leaving my pups in Ryan’s care while I travel. Definitely recommend Ryan for your pet services!”

“Allison was amazing with our girls Milli and Maxi. She was responsive with all her replies, our special requests and we felt at ease with Allison taling care of our girls at home. The babies always had big smiles and were always very relaxed. Thanks for all the updates and a great job all around. The girls look forward to her next visit.”

“Amazing! Jess took care of our three dogs, a 13Y F/ 4Y M/ 7Y M, while we were away for a weekend trip. They range in personality and in needs and she was able to take care of them all well. We hope she’s free the next time we plan a trip given we’d definitely rebook her for overnight stays.”

“Monic was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with all six of our furbabies (3 cats and 3 dogs)! We had never left them with anyone other than family, but she went above and beyond to make sure they were well-taken care of and that she kept us informed of how they were all doing daily! We will be booking her for ALL of our future vacations because our babies were happy and she just did such a magnificent job with them!!! 1000% recommend her!!! ❤️”
“Natalie is AMAZING!! She did a meet and greet with us and it was clear from the start how much she loved animals. Aside from instructions, she got on the floor and engaged with our cats. While on our trip, she sent us pictures, videos and updates for all three cats. Eventually, even our shy cat came out and began hanging out in the common area; she made sure to check on him everytime she came over. She was amazing with communicating when she was on her way and heading out, too. While we were gone, she even cleaned up litter from the floor and tidied uo our place. She is phenomenal, we really appreciate Natalie so much!”

“Sherine and Kai were amazing as always! It gives us such peace of mind to know they are taking care of our kitties (including two elderly kitties) and house while we travel! They are so great with the cats and go above and beyond with the house! They are our go-to for housesitting! Highly recommend them!”

About: With over 10 years of hands-on cat care experience, I’ve learned to understand and respect each cat’s unique personality and comfort level. I’m experienced in caring for and gently training kittens, as well as providing attentive support for senior cats who need extra patience and care. My home is always clean, calm, and cat-friendly — a peaceful environment that helps pets feel safe and relaxed. I maintain a high standard of hygiene by cleaning food and water bowls daily, scooping litter boxes every day, and doing a deep clean of all litter boxes once a week. I also pay close attention to details like eating habits, litter box use, and behavior changes, ensuring every cat stays happy and healthy. What sets me apart is my calm energy, reliability, and genuine love for animals. I treat every pet as if they were my own, offering warmth, patience, and thoughtful care every step of the way. I’m currently a full-time homemaker, so my schedule is very flexible. I’m available most afternoons and can easily adjust my time to fit your cat’s routine and needs. Your pet will always have my full attention and care. When caring for cats in my home, I make sure they have a calm, quiet, and clean environment with plenty of cozy spots to rest. I keep their space safe and stress-free, maintaining a consistent routine for feeding, playtime, and litter cleaning. Food and water bowls are washed daily, litter boxes are scooped every day, and I do a full deep clean once a week. I also spend quality time with each cat — gentle brushing, soft play, and peaceful companionship. When I visit a client’s home, I treat it with the same respect and care as my own. I follow each cat’s usual schedule closely, keep their area tidy, and make sure they always have fresh water, clean bowls, and a comfortable space. I send regular updates with photos or messages, so you always know your cat is happy, safe, and well cared for.

“Lanette took wonderful care of my two pups! She was very accommodating- One of our dogs is very protective of me and doesn't get along with new people for a while, but Lanette did come over a few times before the stay to help get him more comfortable with her. During the stay our protective little pup came out of his shell, fell in love, and wouldn't leave her alone! She was very patient with him and that was exactly what he needed! We got lots of pictures and videos, which was very comforting for my boyfriend and I. We highly recommend Lanette!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 2,258 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Simonton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Simonton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Simonton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Simonton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Simonton. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
