“Monic was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with all six of our furbabies (3 cats and 3 dogs)! We had never left them with anyone other than family, but she went above and beyond to make sure they were well-taken care of and that she kept us informed of how they were all doing daily! We will be booking her for ALL of our future vacations because our babies were happy and she just did such a magnificent job with them!!! 1000% recommend her!!! ❤️”

About: I treat every fur baby as if they were my own. Your pet's safety, happiness, exercise, and comfort are my top priorities, and I genuinely enjoy building trust with every furry friend. I'm a professional videographer with a flexible schedule, which allows me to offer reliable and consistent care for pets throughout the week. As an animal lover, I understand that pets are family, and I treat every dog and cat with the same patience, attention, and care I'd want for my own. Whether it's walks, drop in visits, or companionship while you're away, you can count on me to be dependable, communicative, and focused on your pet's safety and happiness. My flexible availability means I can often accommodate last minute requests and provide the attention your furry family member deserves. I've had pets throughout my life and understand how important it is to know they're in good hands. I prioritize safety, consistency, and attention to their individual needs. I follow feeding schedules, exercise routines, and any special instructions closely while providing plenty of companionship and affection. I'm dependable, communicative, and committed to treating every pet like a valued member of the family, so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
“Leah took wonderful care of our dog, Nutmeg, while we were away for 10 days. She gave us complete peace of mind by providing daily updates with photos, which made it so reassuring to see how well Nutmeg was doing. Leah carefully followed all of the instructions we left and treated both Nutmeg and our home with great care and respect. It was clear that she genuinely cared about Nutmeg’s well-being, and we came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and a house that was just as we left it. We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter and would absolutely book Leah again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and reliable to care for their pets.”

“I absolutely loved having Katy watch my puppy for a few hours. She was amazing at getting all of his energy out, helping with potty training, and keeping him entertained. We felt at ease knowing our little fur baby was in good hands?”

“Christy was amazing! After a bad experience with a pet sitter referred by a friend, I decided to try Rover. I picked Christy because of her experience and her good reviews. My husband and I both had out of town trips that were overlapping one night. We have two small dogs and one of them, Tucker, had terrible separation anxiety. I knew they were in good hands when my husband texted me and told me when he was leaving, Tucker was already snuggled up on top of Christy. She took excellent care of the dogs and sent me text and picture updates. I will definitely be booking again for a longer trip!”

“Zoe did an amazing job caring for our two foster kittens and two adult cats over a long weekend. She was reliable, attentive, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. We came home to happy, well-cared-for cats and a clean, organized setup. It gave us great peace of mind knowing they were in such capable hands. We would happily recommend Zoe to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!”

“Sherine did a fantastic job! Our cat and dog are happy and well fed and cared for. Sherine did extra things around the house and was very communicative and thoughtful I would have her again anytime! Many thanks”

About: I’ve grown up around large (50+ lbs) and small dogs/cats my entire life. I love being around animals and have no problem with nurturing them, even if they have more problematic temperaments. I believe animals are like raising children in that they need safety, positive reinforcement, freedom, and enough activity to learn and develop naturally. I will do everything in my power to make sure your pets get the level of respect and care they deserve. I also love going outside! Taking them out should be a blast if needed. I’m currently looking for part-time work as I try to focus on graduate school, so my schedule is very flexible! Mornings/Early Afternoons should be no issue I currently lived in a fenced-in apartment complex. I don’t typically expect to spend too much time in my own home when on the job, however if I do, the apartment complex offers a large park which has multiple areas where dogs can freely roam.
“Natalie is AMAZING!! She did a meet and greet with us and it was clear from the start how much she loved animals. Aside from instructions, she got on the floor and engaged with our cats. While on our trip, she sent us pictures, videos and updates for all three cats. Eventually, even our shy cat came out and began hanging out in the common area; she made sure to check on him everytime she came over. She was amazing with communicating when she was on her way and heading out, too. While we were gone, she even cleaned up litter from the floor and tidied uo our place. She is phenomenal, we really appreciate Natalie so much!”

“I am SO GLAD I found Ericka. She did such an amazing job watching our little homestead and animals for two weeks. She took care of our dogs, chickens, turtle and cat!! Our home was very well taken care of. And my dogs were so comfortable and happy with her. She sent regular updates and messaged any issues right away. THANK YOU ERICKA!! We are so happy we found you, and hope to book you again!”

“Remington came in to house-sit my dog on short notice and did an amazing job taking care of her. He went above and cleaned up a bit for us as well. We really appreciate his help, we recommend and will rebook him in the future.”

The babies always had big smiles and were always very relaxed. Thanks for all the updates and a great job all around. The girls look forward to her next visit.”

I received detailed updates and lots of pictures. This has been one of my best experiences with Rover and I have been using it for many years. Lisa is excellent!”

Having a house/pet sitter while traveling gives me great peace of mind. I have had Desirae watch our home and pets several times and she is very responsive, sending photos and videos frequently. She also points out issues (she offered to clean out our fridge of the old food) and watered the plants. She is trustworthy and I highly recommend her.

Lilian was amazing with our babies and our home. She was attentive, and responsive, always ensuring we got pictures and updates about their day to day. My dog is dog reactive when on leash, and has a pretty extensive training routine; Lilian did great at following all of our instructions and keeping up with their training and routine. Our animals loved having her and Truffle (her dog) over. Thank you for taking care of our babies so well!

Amanda was great , we booked her last minute and was responsive and reliable!!! She arrived on time and always kept me informed when my dog ate and how she was doing. That gave me peace of mind! When we got home everything was fine! Highly recommend her. Thanks Amanda !
Ximena was so amazing to our 2 dogs! I couldn’t have asked for a better rover experience after not having the best experiences in the past with this app. She made us feel so comfortable with knowing they were being well taken care of. Will use her services again in a heartbeat

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,506 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Barker. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Barker walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Barker maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Barker choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Barker. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
