“Shania took great care of our dogs and our home. She was very communicative and responsive and followed all of the guidance we left for the dogs. We appreciated her visiting the house and meeting the dogs before we left, and all of the messages and photos she shared with us while we were away. We highly recommend Shania to care for your dog(s)!”

“Izzy was a complete delight to work with! I booked her to house sit and care for our 3 dogs for a long weekend and she was extremely reliable, professional, and responsible. She went above and beyond her duty to care for our dogs and we returned to 3 happy pups and an immaculate house! We will certainly be requesting her services again and again!”

“Lisa was amazing! Our Zoey is grumpy with new people but warmed right up to her! 10/10 would recommend to anybody. She was professional and communicated clearly with us. She even made sure to send pictures for my boys of the dogs' presents from Santa!”
“Zoe was fantastic! I’m always worried about Prince when I leave, and have not had the best experience with overnight Rovers staying at my house ie keeping it clean etc. and Zoe was nothing short of a dream. She kept me updated, sent me so many pictures of Prince, was patient with him because he can be super energetic and let me know if he accidentally ate anything. I came back and my house was just how I left it. Hopefully she is available for my week long trip at the end of July because I will be booking again!”

“Katherine was amazing with my girls!! She was able to do a meet and greet before our booking and ever since was very responsive and kept me update all the time. At the time of her stay she was very respectful of our home, and took amazing care of my dogs. Definitely will book again!!”

“Connie did an outstanding job looking after our cat Gemini. She made an advance visit to our home to meet Gemini before we left, followed all care instructions to the letter, and provided frequent detailed photo updates throughout her stay. She is certainly our top choice for any of our future pet care needs and we will be recommending her very highly to friends!”

“Mya did a wonderful job. She was so sweet with my dog Olive and gave me daily updates. I am always worried about leaving Olive with a sitter but Nya but me fully at ease. She was also very respectful of my space and was great about communicating.”

About: Individual with a BS degree in animal science who loves animals of all kinds and would love to keep your furry family members as happy, active, and healthy as possible while you are away! I have over 1000 hours working with animals in all aspects from basic husbandry and pet sitting to veterinary clinical care! Due to my busy schedule working a full time job at a veterinary clinic, my services are best suited to individual walks or drop in visits on my days off (usually Tuesdays and Wednesdays), or sitting for pets that are able to be left alone for 9+ hours at a time. I do not have any pets of my own and am child free, so I can easily provide overnight pet sitting for clients if they would prefer rather than just being present during the day.
“Molly has been walking our dogs for a couple of weeks, and we couldn’t be happier! Our dog, Finn, is pretty nervous and weary of strangers, but Molly has been really patient with him! Would 100% recommend”

“Nichole was absolutely amazing! She took excellent care of our energetic pup (and our house!) for us for 10 days. She shared lots of photos and updates and was attentive and observant enough to notice when something was off with our girl. Nichole was responsible, trustworthy, and reliable, and we would highly recommend her for anyone looking for an attentive and loving care provider. We loved, loved, loved having her - we’ve already booked her again for our next trip! Thanks, Nichole!”

“Xena was great! We just moved into town and she made it so easy and stress free to know our fur kiddo was well taken care of when going out of town. She was forgiving of the chaos of our house due to the unpacking and was able to support Levi as a senior. Will be booking again when we need a dog sitter!”

“Maura, thank you for taking care of Murphy overnight. We knew he was in great hands with your care. We appreciate the photo updated so much! We will be in touch again!”

About: I've been a go-to pet sitter since I was 12, starting with dog walking as my first real job. Friends and family trust me so much they have referred me to others, and now I've got fur nieces and nephews all over the country. Whether it’s puppies or senior pets, I make sure they feel loved on and happy. Working from home gives me plenty of flexibility to fit pet care into my routine. I currently have a cat and share pet duties with my roommate, so I'm used to balancing responsibilities. Plus, I miss being more active, and pet care is a perfect way to stay active and enjoy time with furry friends. It’s a win-win for all of us! I like to learn the pets regular home routine & abide by the rules of the house. From there, it’s important for me to make the transition feel seamless. I give them a lot of love & reassurance especially if I sense their feeling anxious or confused. I also love to incorpore long walks and more active play time to help them expend some energy and hopefully soothe any anxiety. I would determine the right type of activities based on their temperament & guidance from their owner.
“Elizabeth was phenomenal! From our initial meet and greet I could tell she took care in her role. She came equipped with plenty of questions and was very attentive when I was scrambling through everything related to our pups. While we were away, Elizabeth communicated daily with lots of pictures to show us how much fun they were having with her! We came home from a stress-free trip to two happy and relaxed pets. We’ll definitely be booking her again!”

“Nzinga was wonderful with my cat, Bug. Every day she updated me with pictures and how much she ate/ drank/ peed/ pooped so I could know my cat's health. Bug seemed to take to her rather quickly, and they were cuddling and playing like good pals within moments. I'd definitely recommend Nzinga to house sit your fur baby anytime.”

“Cora was an excellent sitter that got Ozzy and Dee out for many walks. They loved her and she was attentive and an extremely good communicator which put our minds at ease. Definitely will look to book again and highly recommend to all pet owners!”

“Tyasia was great. She was quick to respond and easy to book. Kaci had a blast with her and I know this because he slept a lot the next day lol. I will definitely be booking again.”

“Jennifer really did a great job looking after our two younger dogs. She kept us informed and sent pictures. And was very thoughtful in making sure they were all set before she left. She stayed in our home and took good care of it as well. I will definitely recommend Jennifer.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the real-world experience I bring from living and working with dogs every day. I’ve raised and trained a variety of breeds, including high-drive working dogs like Dobermans and a Donovan Pinscher, and I currently share my home with three dogs and a cat. My dogs are actively involved in dog sports. Giving me a strong foundation in obedience, structure, and engagement. I understand how to meet each dog where they are—whether it’s a playful puppy needing boundaries or a senior dog requiring calm, attentive care. I take a thoughtful, balanced approach with every dog I care for, focusing on clear communication, calm energy, and consistency. My experience allows me to confidently handle dogs with different needs and personalities, and I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and emotional well-being. Whether you’re looking for someone to reinforce good habits, provide mental stimulation, or simply give your pet a safe, peaceful break from home, I offer more than basic care—I bring a lifestyle built around respect, trust, and a genuine love for animals. Pet care fits naturally into my work schedule because it’s already a central part of my daily life and routine. Caring for animals isn’t something I squeeze in—it’s something I’ve built my lifestyle around. With experience raising and training multiple dogs, including high-drive working breeds, I’m used to managing feeding times, structured exercise, training sessions, and downtime throughout the day. My schedule is intentionally designed to support the physical and emotional needs of the animals in my care, allowing me to provide reliable, consistent attention without it ever feeling rushed or secondary. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm, structured environment. In my home, I maintain clear routines, supervise all interactions, and ensure every animal has their own space and comfort. When in your home, I follow your pet’s routine closely, respect their space, and provide consistent, attentive care. I read body language carefully, move at your pet’s pace, and focus on building trust through calm, confident handling. Your pet’s well-being is always my top priority, no matter the setting.

Steven did an awesome job with our very elderly pup while we were out of the country for over a week. He followed his food, walk, and medication routines, and gave daily updates with pictures. We came home to a pup who had been well-cared for. Thanks so much Steven!

Vanessa was incredible and took great care of our nervous dog while we were away for 10 days. Our initial dog sitter fell through the day before we were going to leave, and she responded immediately to our initial message and was over to meet him and us within two hours. He is a recent rescue and very nervous with strangers, but she introduced herself to him with great care, understanding, and professionalism. I was very anxious about leaving him, especially with such a last-minute change in our plans, but after meeting her, I felt completely reassured that he would be in great hands, which he was! She sent multiple updates with pictures a day, and our sweet boy looked like he was having the time of his life going on walks and sniffing all the flowers and grass he wanted. We greatly appreciate that she respected his boundaries and let him warm up to her on his own timeline. She also left our house spotless. We will definitely rebook her for future trips if she is available!

My dog loved Alexis, he just stared at the front door when she left. Guess he didn’t miss us as such as I missed him. He had lots of walk and MANY treats. From all the pics he looked very chill. Can’t say enough good things about Alexis and the care she gave my dog.

Paola was absolutely outstanding! She took wonderful care of my pets and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. She was reliable, kind, attentive, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. Communication was excellent throughout my booking. I received regular updates and photos, which made it easy to see that my pets were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Paola went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of, and it truly showed. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Paola again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and professional pet sitter. She's the best!

Marina was incredible! Our regular sitter wasn't available and we managed to catch her on some available days. Not only did she handle our very high energy dog very well, but she even washed and replaced the bedding she used - definitely goes above and beyond!

Zoe was fantastic! Hopefully she is available for my week long trip at the end of July because I will be booking again!

Elizabeth has performed housesitting on several occasions for our two Golden Retrievers. We make sure that she is available when we schedule vacations that require onsite care for our fur babies. She provides frequent updates including pictures. We trust her to make the appropriate decisions regarding household activities.

Merryrose was a fantastic sitter for Beeba! She took great care of her and kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which we really appreciated. Merryrose has a very reassuring personality, and we felt completely comfortable leaving Beeba in her care. We would absolutely book with her again.

Faith watched our three dogs and she did awesome! She was always extremely responsive, was assiduous in asking questions to make sure everything was done according to schedule, and provided much needed pictures and videos while we were away :). She allowed us to enjoy our trip confident our fur babies were in excellent hands. When we got back they were sad to see her leave... Highly recommend for anyone!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Calverton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Calverton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Calverton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Calverton. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
