Your Pet's Interim Best Friend!
I am a lifelong pet owner and animal lover with over 25 years of caregiving experience. I have had dogs almost continuously since kindergarten ranging in size from a 5 lb poodle mix (Trooper) to a 95 lb yellow lab (Nala), in addition to 3 years as a parent to 2 cats, Jules and Gemini. Jules was with us only briefly due to her advanced age when she was adopted, while Gemini is a much younger kitten who wasted no time claiming my home as her own. I also recently lost my 10 year old corgi (Sadie) unexpectedly to an extremely aggressive form of cancer, and so would love the opportunity to spend some therapeutic time with your furry kid. Prior to beginning work through Rover, I have several years of experience caring for cats and dogs for a variety of friends, family, and neighbors including everything from drop-in visits and dog walking to full-time house/petsitting. Outside of my petsitting duties, I am a PhD chemist working hard to make the battery in your phone last longer and your electric car drive further. My wife and I moved to the Silver Spring area in 2024 for her job as a television producer and I am in the process of establishing myself in the DMV research community. Availability: Except in special cases, I am available for booking at any time of day, any day of the week. I am happy to provide everything from drop-in visits to extended overnight stays.

Safety, trust & environment
I am glad to visit your home as frequently as you prefer. All visits will include checks for water quantity and freshness, any prescribed food refills or walks, and of course play time. I'm also happy to provide overnight care for your pets and home if preferred, please send me a message if you are interested in more long-term visits. I'm also very happy to host your pets in my own home! I have plenty of room for cats and dogs up to 50-70 lbs. Both my wife and I have had pets our entire lives and between the two of us, someone is nearly always home to supervise and provide any needed care. Since I live in an apartment complex, I do not have a private yard but do have plenty of communal space for walks and other outdoor activity.

100% will book again and highly recommend Steven! Steven watched over my 16 year old cat with few health issues that required extra attention. On top of that, we recently lost another cat (her companion for 15 years) and she has been lonely and high stress. We were having second thoughts about leaving on vacation. Steven did an incredible job communicating during the entire trip. He provided daily summary of how she was doing, her appetite, her energy, meds etc. He honestly made our vacation 100% more relaxing and worry free. When we came back our cat was very chill and relaxed, a great sign that she had great company and that she loved Steven. I plan to become a repeat customer and 100% recommend him. Steven is a very conscientious young man. I've known him for several years and he loves animals. A corgi named Sadie passed away last year. He also has a cat and is's very good to his animals.
Tyler has done a wonderful job watching/sitting our dogs for several years. He said he grew up with dogs in his house and you can tell that by the way he enjoys our pups. Tyler is very punctual, responsible and attentive and does what is needed to make sure the pets are properly and lovingly cared for. We would recommend him to everyone. The next time we leave town we will certainly try to get Tyler to watch our dogs.
Tyler has watched my Cats multiple times. He handles them with great care and makes sure that they are taken care of while im away.

Schedule
I am currently working part-time from home, so I am excited to have the opportunity to care for your pets at any time! This can include drop-in visits to your home, overnight stays with your fur baby, and day-care or boarding at my home (as long as they're friendly with my cat Gemini).
