“We had a great experience with Courtney house sitting for us. Our 2 doodles were happy and well cared for. Our house was left in perfect condition. We got regular photo updates which we loved. Would book again and would recommend.”

About: Experienced dog-sitter from London, UK. Served two clients loyally for 3.5yrs, looking after their dogs and taking them on day-trip adventures and holidays. Have provided a variety of one-off care for multiple other clients. My husband & I have recently moved to Canada and we are missing our doggo-time! We would love a furry friend to keep us company. I work 100% remotely as an environmental sustainability consultant; my husband works as a mountain guide in the Rockies. We lead active lifestyles, but also love relaxing at home. Our building is pet-friendly, and we have a mini dog park outside. We have hard flooring throughout our flat but we would be happy to lay down additional rugs if required, depending on your pet's preferences. We don't have any stairs.
“Chyvonne did an excellent job. She was very responsive from our initial contact and followed instructions well. She clearly loves animals and respected our home which was left very clean and orderly. She is kind, reliable and mature. Will definitely use her services again.”
“Our shy pup warmed up quickly with Morgan. She was a great communicator, kind, and caring with our dog. She also took great care of our home. We would recommend her to friends and will definitely ask her to watch our puppy and house again!”

“Caitlyn was great with my 2 cats! She really paid attention to them, gave them cuddles and made sure they were happy. Caitlyn also sent us updates periodically which was always appreciated and very thoughtful. She also ensured the house was clean which made it great to return to. Highly recommend her services.”

About: Since I was a child, animals have always been part of my life — cats, dogs, hamsters, and fish. I’ve always enjoyed taking care of them and understanding their needs. Back in Czechia, we have two cats (one of them is mine) and a dog. Whenever other family members were away, I took full care of all the animals, making sure they are fed, exercised, and feel safe and comfortable. I’ve also pet-sat for my sister’s cat several times, handling feeding, litter care, playtime, and providing calm companionship. Unfortunately I was not able to bring my pet with me to Canada, so I am more than happy to take care of your pet! In case of cat sitting I can check up on your cat at least twice a day and provide playtime and snuggles. As for dog care and walk your dog on my days off :) I treat each animal as it is my own, so with love and respect. I am reliable and responsible and will always make sure your pet is feeling safe.
About: Looking for a doggy daycare that doubles as an outdoor adventure? I’m your sitter! If you want your dog to return home happy, tired and thoroughly fulfilled, you’ve found the right spot. I work from home with a flexible schedule that allows me to prioritize outdoor time. Every single daycare stay includes at least one 5–10km hike (or if requested, trail run), or a split routine of two 3–5km walks. I have experience with all breeds, but I specialize in high-energy working dogs (Cattle Dogs, Aussies, and Border Collies). My own best friend Metsä, is a 14-year-old Blue Heeler, so I deeply understand the physical exercise and mental stimulation these breeds need to stay happy. Metsä gets a minimum of 2 hours of outdoor time a day, and I can't wait to meet some new friends and hit the trails together! When I am not travelling for my job, I work from home full. Metsä and I love having another four legged friend at home to go for a nice hike with. I work from a home office and always have your dog in the room with me during the daytime hours. When we go on a walk and out for bathroom breaks your dog will remain on leash at all times.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life—literally! Since I was a baby, my family has had everything from giant Saint Bernards to energetic Australian Shepherds, a cuddly Sheepoo, and now an English Bulldog. Between my mom’s house and my dad’s, I’m always surrounded by a pack, so I’ve had experience with all kinds of personalities, sizes, and energy levels. Whether it’s keeping up with high-energy pups or giving a little extra care to seniors, I’ve seen it all. I also genuinely love being outdoors, so your dog will get lots of fresh air, exercise, and adventure on our walks. I treat every dog like they’re my own, and I always make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I’m currently working at a golf course for the summer, so my schedule is flexible and I never work more than 8 hours a day—most shifts are even shorter. I have my own car, so I’m always able to get to where I’m needed. I already go on daily walks, so adding a four-legged walking buddy is a perfect fit! On my days off (usually two per week), I love spending time outdoors hiking and camping, so staying active with dogs is something that naturally fits into my lifestyle. Whether it’s a quick visit or a longer walk, I’m happy to give your pet the attention and exercise they deserve. Whether I’m taking your dog for a walk or staying overnight in your home, I always treat pets with love, patience, and respect—just like they’re my own. I understand how important routine is, so I’ll make sure to stick closely to your dog’s regular schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions you provide. When staying in a client’s home, I’m mindful of your space and aim to keep things clean, calm, and comfortable for your pet. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe and at ease while you’re away, so they get consistent care and plenty of attention.
“Andrea was wonderful with our dogs, which are both seniors. She went above and beyond taking care of them and treated them like her own dogs. She also took great care of our chickens and bunnies! We could not have asked for a better petsitter! She was reliable and conscientious and I would book her again any time.”
About: I’ve been dog sitting, dog walking, and cat sitting in the Bow Valley for the past 3 years! I grew up with both dogs and cats, so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I love spending time outdoors and going on adventures! I’m reliable, respectful of your pet’s routine, and always do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m currently working in the service industry! I usually work 4–5 times a week, and my shifts are typically 4–5 hours long. I’m also happy to take some days off work to hang out with your pups if needed. I treat your home with the same care and respect as I would my own, ensuring everything stays safe and comfortable. I can easily follow your pet’s routine, from feeding and walks to playtime and cuddles, so they feel happy and secure while you’re away. I also enjoy providing regular updates, photos, and feedback so you can relax knowing your dog is in good hands!

“This was my first time using Rover and I was nervous on how Shadow would be with a new person. Madison was willing to meet us a few days before to do a meet and greet with Shadow. Madison messaged me upon arrival to let me know Shadow was doing well and kept in touch. I was happy to hear that Shadow was in good hands.”

About: What sets me apart is my calm, intuitive approach to animals. Pets tend to feel comfortable with me very quickly, including shy, anxious, and senior animals. I’m patient, observant, and I let pets warm up at their own pace rather than forcing interaction. I’m attentive to routines, body language, and subtle changes in behavior, and I take pride in creating a low-stress, safe environment while you’re away. I’m reliable, respectful of your home, and I communicate clearly with regular updates so you always know how your pet is doing. Pet care fits smoothly into my daily routine. I plan my schedule to allow plenty of time for feeding, walks, play, and quiet companionship without rushing. I’m consistent with routines and make sure pets receive attention throughout the day, not just quick check-ins. Because I keep a structured but flexible schedule, I’m able to adapt to each pet’s needs while maintaining a calm, predictable environment they can feel comfortable in. I provide attentive, calm, and structured care whether in my home or yours. I follow your pet’s routines for feeding, exercise, play, and rest, and I make sure they feel safe and comfortable at all times. In your home, I respect your space, clean up after pets, and ensure everything is secure and tidy. In my home, I create a calm environment where pets can relax, with cozy spaces for resting and plenty of positive attention. I communicate regularly with updates so you always know your pet is happy and well cared for.
“Alex was such a great sitter for my dogs when I was visiting Banff last week. She was kind, personable, and loved giving the dogs the attention and love while my family was away doing things during our visit. Alex's mom was visiting and also joined and was just as kind. Big THANKS to both of them for helping make our time in Banff memorable and giving us the peace of mind while we experienced Banff. Thank you Alex and Terra!!”

“Dionne was excellent with our girls ❤️ I was able to relax while away knowing they were in such great care. Dogs were happy when we got home, house looked great. Will definitely be reaching out for care again in the future!”

“Sara is always amazing! We just got back from our trip and the house is spotless and our dog is happy and healthy. So glad we can count on Sara for amazing service while we’re away!”

Chyvonne did an excellent job. She was very responsive from our initial contact and followed instructions well. She clearly loves animals and respected our home which was left very clean and orderly. She is kind, reliable and mature. Will definitely use her services again.
Jessica was amazing!!! She took care of my 2 dogs while we were away and they were in very good hands. She walked them and took care of them like her own. One night my one dog got sick and she took very good care of him while keeping me updated until he was better.

Laura was a great sitter for our dog, Kygo, while we were out of town. She communicated so well both before and during and we were totally comfortable leaving Kygo in her care. We received lots of updates and photos and could see how much fun they had together! We came back to a perfectly looked after home and dog.

Stephanie and Robert took such amazing care of our little baby, Lola, the night of our wedding in Canmore. We did a meet and greet before and knew we could trust them with Lola. We were able to enjoy the night of our wedding without worrying about Lola and will definitely use Stephanie and Robert again in the future!!

Mary is so wonderful with our dog Koda. We had never used Rover before so I was really nervous leaving our house and dog with someone we didn't know. Mary was super professional, organized, very clean and made me feel more at ease to head out on our vacation. And our dog loves her.

Robyn was amazing. She watched our three dogs for a week and we felt confident in the love and attention she showed each of them. We have one dog with behavioral issues, one with medical issues and one that is normal but very active. She did amazingly meeting the needs of each of them and keeping us up to date. When we arrived back home she had even washed the sheets, totally unnecessary but very much appreciated. The house was also spotless - which is impressive with three shedding dogs!! We’d recommend Robyn in a heartbeat!

The average cost for House Sitting in Canmore on Rover is $54.39 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 63 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Canmore. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Canmore maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Canmore walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Canmore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
