“Hailey is absolutely amazing, caring, & professional. She took incredible care of our dog Luna in our home while we were away and would book her again in a heartbeat for our next trip. She kept us updated with photos and checked in to let us know how everything was at home with Luna while we were away. Thank you so much for your wonderful care & love for our fur baby.”

“Our old gal was VERY happy with Andrea! Daily walks, the house was in great shape when we got home, sidewalk and paths were shovelled. Andrea was a great communicator all the way through the process and as this was our first time using rover, she has made us big fans! Thanks Andrea! We (and Lola) would love to have you again!!”

“This was the first time we left our dog since getting her. Kim sent updates as well as pictures of our dog to us daily which helped ease my daughter’s mind. She took exceptional care of meeka and I am so glad I chose her to dog sit. I am hoping to have Kim as a permanent dog sitter as we know meeka was loved and spoiled over the weekend we were gone. She also left our house super clean which she didn’t have to do at all! Thanks again Kim!!”

“Micahl was one of the best sitters we have ever had. The dogs loved him and he treated them so well. He was extremely responsive while we were away and provided updates about how the fur babies were doing. He was such a pleasure to deal with. I absolutely recommend having him support your furry family members!”

“Tamra did a great job looking after our two older dogs - one of whom needs a bit more special, individualized attention. I really appreciated how she took time to truly understand their needs and our routines. While we were gone, she took care of them very well - ensuring they got the walks they needed, their meds, and also spent time putting the dogs through their physio exercises. We will definitely be calling Tamra again.”

“We returned to a happy, tired dog with lots of photos. Cora asked reasonable questions about a young energetic dog, and the clean and tidied up house was a nice surprise to come home to!”

“I was so nervous to leave our dog who is extremely shy and skiddish.Stacey was able to make her feel safe and loved and at ease. I am over the moon to have someone my dog trusts look after her. Everything went smoothly and I would leave xanny with Stacey anytime. Highly recommend her and Fred .”

“We went away for four days to get married, so all of our usual dog sitters were away with us. We have a big dog (100 lbs) who is generally friendly but got into a single dog tuffle years ago and makes us nervous to leave him with strangers given his size. Ryan was super accommodating and kept our dog safe, entertained and happy for us while we were gone. He sent the perfect amount of pictures to let us know we had nothing to worry about. We also have a gecko and fish and was attentive to their needs as well. Our house was cleaner when we came back than when we left it. Overall, we couldn’t recommend him highly enough!”

“Yan is absolutely wonderful. She stayed at my home for over 20 days when I had to travel for health reasons and took excellent care of my senior cat (15 years old, with kidney disease). She gave him all of his medications (he takes many), washed his bowls daily, cleaned his litter box every day, played with him, and gave him lots of love. She also helped water my plants and, most importantly, kept me updated at all times and sent me lots of photos. It was truly a huge relief for me, and I’m very grateful. I would definitely hire her again in the future, my cat seems to love her!”

“What a fantastic sitter! Kristen looked after our pets during the Easter Long weekend, and she was terrific. She contacted us to say when she would be at our residence and also sent daily videos of our pets to let us know how they were doing. We could not be happier with her services. We will rebook with Kirsten! Thank you, Yves/Michelle”

About: I lived with a friend on a hobby farm. She showed me the ropes. I learned how to take care of all animals big and small. I am willing and able to assist in medicine administration. I have tons of free time that I’d love to dedicate to ensuring your furry friend has their needs through the day and even when you’re on vacation I work full time in the city and I hardly ever leave the province and can dedicate as much time needed with your fur babies as you need! I’m very good with early mornings and late night visits. I won’t have pets in my home as I have a cat myself, but I will ensure I know where all food, treats, toys and everything else they require before you leave. I will ask for an emergency response plan in the event I need to get ahold of you asap. I also have my own reliable transportation and will ask for the vet you use in dire emergencies. I will also supervise play time as I know how quick everything can go sideways. I also am very clean, if there’s a mess from your pet, it’ll be cleaned. And I have no problem cleaning litter boxes as well.
“Nichole took amazing care of my pups while house sitting them. I got updates and pictures a couple of times a day. She is very sweet, caring and considerate. I will definitely call Nichole again next time I need my pup-pups watched.”

“Graeme was great with our boisterous bully - I think Briggs was sad to see us come home he liked Graeme so much! Great communication and took great care of our big guy. Will definitely book with Graeme again.”

“Dale was amazing with our dog Bear! We couldn’t have been more grateful for the excellent care he provided to Bear while we were gone. Dale provided lots of consistent updates and photos which was wonderful as provided peaceful of mind. Dale was extremely professional, caring, went above and beyond and left our place immaculate.”

About: I have owned a black lab and a jack russell chihuahua mix, and have also taken care of friends and families dogs. I have helped bathe, walk, and play with both my own and family and friends dogs! I am working part time i have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday’s off and can go to work and then come back on days that i work i am usually done work between 3:30-4 and i usually start between 9-10 If clients have a routine for their animal i would stick to the routine so their pet feels comfortable, daily walks/playing, and sticking to the schedule of being fed and filling fresh water!
“Sara was fantastic with our pets while we were away! Excellent communication, she sent pics and videos. She walked and played with our boy.. House was clean and everything was great when we got back. Highly recommend!”

“Fernanda was instantly liked by my 2 dogs, and my cat. She took them for walks, lots of play time and cuddle time. She sent me daily updates and photos, which I really appreciated. I requested a meet and greet before we left, so my dogs could know her before we left and she gracioiusly agreed and spent a bit of time with them first. My house looks exactly the same as we left it. I highly recommend Fernanda and would trust her 100% with my home and animals.”

“Borys & Purity were great. The dogs loved them and their energy they bring to the sit. They took good care of our dogs, fed them on time and went for a long walk. Chewy & Nova are lap dogs so loved the cuddles. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing their house and dogs taken care of while they are away.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Airdrie
Hailey is amazing - our three goldens are well cared for and well loved. She communicates well and shows up as promised. Our neighbours even complimented her for her dedication on handling the dogs being dogs through the fence, that says something when she is making sure everyone is respected. Great Job!

Lisa was absolutely amazing with our boy whilst we were on vacation. She has a genuine love for pets and takes care of them as if they’re her own. She asks great questions during the meet and greet to understand your pets needs and likes. She sent us regular updates with little messages and photos which was very much appreciated. We even came back to a lovely clean house. Highly recommend, we will definitely be using her again 👍👍👍

After other theories for our cat fell through, we messaged Robert on shorter notice than anyone would probably recommend! Communication was great and he took it in stride. I wouldn’t consider our cat too high-maintenance, but she is kind of quirky. He worked with her and the regular updates showed they were becoming friends by the time we returned. She clearly did well and we won’t hesitate to book him again for future feline needs. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing sitter! Dale is always on time, treated my dogs like his own, and paid close attention to all their needs. Dale stayed with my two anxious fur babies for several overnights in my home and I swear my house was cleaner than when I left! I loved getting updates every morning and evening—it gave me such peace of mind. Truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Honestly, I almost don’t want to share how great he is because he may get too busy and I will have difficulty booking him in the future. Highly recommend!

Cassandra looked after Moose our Boston Terrier for 3 weeks, she sent us daily updates and pics to keep our minds at ease while we were away, our home looked in better shape than we left it, Moose can have anxiety at times but there was no sign of it while he was in Cassandra’s care, I would recommend her 100 % and won’t hesitate to have her look after Moose in the future

Amie was amazing. We used her for in-house pet sitting for an 10-day trip and throughout our time away she kept us updated on daily dog news and happenings around our home. I always worry that my male bulldog is going to be too much but Amie quickly established a bond and within hours he was snuggled next to her on the couch, asking for pets. We will definitely be using her services again and will recommend her to friends and family.

Thank you Chantelle for taking such great care of Billie! You are the kindest, most considerate and capable dog sitter. I was able to go on a holiday and not have to worry about my dog, she had a great holiday with you! Love the great pictures and updates every day, they are amazing! So grateful for all that you do, it is so appreciated!

We booked Kathleen to house and cat sit our 2 cats, a Bengal who is fussy and shy and a Savannah who can be standoff-ish with strangers. After a few days, Kathleen was able to gain our cats trust, sending us updates and pictures along the way. She demonstrated a desire to connect with our pets and it was a relief to know they were in good hands. Our home was also well taken care of and it was left tidy when we arrived home. I would recommend Kathleen for your house and pet sitting needs.

Of course! Here’s the first (more polished) review rewritten with Ollie’s name: ⸻ We’re so grateful for the wonderful care our dog, Ollie, received while we were away! Ollie is full of energy and managed to get into a bit of trouble (including eating an entire bag of treats!), but Stacey handled it all with patience, good humour, and great communication. We came home to a happy dog and couldn’t have asked for better care!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Airdrie maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Airdrie walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Airdrie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
