“Natasha is amazing!! We booked with very short notice and she still made time to do a proper meet and greet. She sent lot of photos and videos and we left feeling so good knowing our puppy was in such greats hands and being so well cared for. Thank you, Natasha!!!!”

“Kadie and Pinyo did a great job looking after our two cats! They kept us updated with messages and pictures on how the weekend was going, followed my instructions closely and were very attentive to the cats!”

“Erica is the best!! She honestly instilled me with a sense of calmness and capability that I instantly loved. She stayed in my house with my no less than four dogs 😃 and was an absolute pro. I had zero worries while I was away. All of my dogs adored her and the Frenchie (problem child) even did a little cry when she left. I hope Erika is always available for us!”

“Lindsay helped us out with overnight stays with our two cats who are having trouble adjusting to each other. She kept me updated when I prompted her and seemed to follow the detailed instructions provided. Cats were fed, litters changed, and cats were played and cuddled with (as they permitted!). She kept the house tidy and cleaned up after herself. I’d encourage her to share more photos and more frequent updates on future visits.”

“Julie is so very sweet and kind! Very efficient and responsive. Our dog warmed up to her pretty quickly and they had a great night together! She cleaned her own dishes and was very respectful! We will use Julie again without any hesitation. She’s absolutely lovely ☺️”

“Daryna was amazing. She made us completely comfortable and took amazing care of our puppy. Punctual, responsive, totally focused on him and sent us tons of photos and updates. Would gladly book her again!”

“Katie is amazing, second time we have used her services for house sitting and dog care. We were gone for a week and communication was constant and clear. Katie took great care of our border collie and you can tell our dog was well cared for. Katie left our house just as we left it, clean and organized. Thank you Katie for your services and when we travel again in the spring we hope you are available, and I am sure Bambu hope so as well!”

“My dog LOVES Olivia! She is so sweet and caring. No matter if is just for a couple of hours or the whole weekend, I know that my puppy is having a good time with her. And she always sends me pics and updates about everything. Highly recommend 🤍”

“Kaela took the most amazing photos of my animals while I was away. It’s like getting a professional pet photo session as an add on! My house is in perfect shape and I think my dog liked her more than me which I will forgive her for!”

“Jin was amazing with my dog. She’s spent the whole long weekend with him and She’s very reliable and attentive, followed everything I said, and was very attentive to my dogs needs. Always responded so quickly and took him to do many fun things. Super appreciated having her with my dog.”

“Jessie is the best!! She looked after our dog, a very active Border Collie in our home for 7 days. She is very personable and very attentive to our dog. Braving the cold weather she walked him a few times a day and sent many pictures to reassure us he wasn’t missing us too much. Will definitely be having Jessie back to house/dog sit.”

“It was first time for my dog with a pet sitter. My dog was very anxious. Kimberly gave attention to his behaviour in the meet and greet session and managed to calm him during her stay with him. She sent us his photos frequently.”

“Emma took wonderful care of our cat and our house while we were away. I cannot recommend her enough. She was extremely attentive to our cat’s needs and asked a ton of questions to make sure she was prepared. She was always quick to respond to my messages and sent a ton of photos. She also went above and beyond to care for our home and left it perfectly clean. Emma is friendly and clearly loves animals. Any pet would be in great hands in her care.”

“Hannah was simply fantastic. Hannah stayed at my home for 5 nights with my 2 dogs and 1 cat. She walked the dogs everyday, was very communicative and responsive, sent daily photo updates, and left the house clean and tidy. Additionally, Hannah is a kind and caring person, which was very evident when the dogs instantly took to her. I would highly recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a reputable and caring pet sitter. Thank you, Hannah! 😊”

“Lana was amazing with our pup! We felt very confident that our dog was well taken care of the whole weekend. She sent us lots of photos and videos which we loved to see. Onyx immediately clicked with her when we did an introduction before we had left and we will definitely be having Lana house/dog sit for us again. Highly recommend!”

“Joanne was great! She took care of my Golden Retriever for 3 weeks and stayed in my apartment. I came home and my dog is washed, my apartment is in good shape, and she updated me the whole time I was outside of the country. I will definitely book a house sitting with her again the next time I travel.”

“Alicia is absolutely the best sitter one could hope for. My dog Riley loves her, and they get along great. She takes care of Riley and the house both wonderfully. I couldn’t ask for anyone better.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Calgary
Patty was amazing. We couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received. From the start, it was clear how kind, attentive, and reliable she is. She treated our senior pup like her own, and it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She looked after our home with the utmost respect. We’re so grateful and would highly recommend Patty to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog sitter.

Karina was really kind in taking care of my cat and dog, Gus and Agnes. She was mindful of Agnes’ anxiety and was quickly accepted by both animals in my home. I was thankful for the updates she provided and her attention to instructions I’d left. I would recommend her to others and will be sure to check her availability for the next time I'm away.

Laurie was absolutely fantastic! She took great care of our cat 🐈⬛ (our baby) and we certainly appreciated the picture updates. This is the first time using this service and we are very impressed. She left the house in great shape but more importantly loved our cat. We definitely would use Laurie again!

Susie and her partner John were fantastic house-, gecko-, and dog-sitters for our large dog. We knew they were the right choice for us at the Meet and Greet where they were prompt, informative, and affectionate towards our dog. During their stay they were very communicative and sent plenty of photo updates, along with regular information about the day's activities, her walks, and meals. They were also super accommodating about misting a gecko that we were watching for some friends which was a lifesaver. They left our house spotless and we would be very happy to have them back in the future!

If I could leave a 10 star review for Julie, I would! She’s absolutely lovely and not only did she take great care of my boys, she took great care of my home too. She went above and beyond including watering our garden, which was so needed given the Calgary heat. Thank you, Julie for being such a great sitter for us - we’ll definitely have you back!

Lindsay provided great care for my two ragdoll cats. Both require medication and she took care of this with ease. She noticed one cats medication was low and ordered their medication and picked it up. This allowed me to not have to do it when I got home after a long flight. The cats were comfortable with her and even slept with her.

Alicia bonded with our Labrador, Stella, immediately. She walked her for five days before then housesitting for us for 10 days. We came home to a very happy dog and a well kept House. She is more than a dog/house sitter. She has become our friend. I can’t recommend her Hailee enough.
Yishuang was incredibly caring and sweet with my elderly dog. She took great care of my apartment and left it clean and tidy. This was her second time looking after my dog and I could see in the video and photos that my dog was very relaxed and happy to see Yishuang again.

Lily did a fantastic job looking after my animals while I was gone for a week. She always replied quickly to messages and was punctual when we met to exchange keys. I really appreciated the daily photo updates, and my cat was happy and healthy when I came back home. Can't ask for more than that! I would 100% book Lily's services again and highly recommend her :)

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Calgary on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Calgary maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Calgary walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Calgary choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
