“Lauren was amazing with my dog Hippo! She went above and beyond for what I was expecting when it comes to watching him and worked really hard to keep him calm when I was away at work. Would recommend her to anyone who needs their pup watched!”

“Hailey was an absolute delight. From the moment I met her, I felt confident she was the perfect person to care for my fur baby. She connected with my dog immediately, and my dog did not want to leave her side. Dogs are a great judge of character, and it was clear right away that Hailey is kind, trustworthy, and caring. Her communication throughout the stay was excellent, and she regularly sent updates and photos, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. My dog absolutely adored her and was genuinely sad to see her leave. I would not hesitate to hire Hailey again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional pet care.”

“Borys & Purity were great. The dogs loved them and their energy they bring to the sit. They took good care of our dogs, fed them on time and went for a long walk. Chewy & Nova are lap dogs so loved the cuddles. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing their house and dogs taken care of while they are away.”

“Megan did a fantastic job house and pet-sitting for me!! My dogs absolutely adore her. She went above and beyond with them, and even vacuumed, emptied all my garbages and did all my laundry. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a loving, trustworthy and motivated house/pet sitter. Thank you, Megan!!!”

“It was clear our dog loved Shelby the first time she arrived on our doorstep! When we returned home from our vacation, the house was just as we left it and our dog had obviously had plenty of attention, exercise, and stimulation while we were away. Shelby was also very helpful with additional household tasks like feeding our aquatic pets, gathering mail and parcels, and checking our fences and gates to ensure the yard was always secure.”

“Karen was so punctual, something we really appreciate and Manchas got along well with her. Manchas is a senior dog so we need someone who is willing to be patient with our dog. Thank you Karen.”

“Skye was amazing. Not onky did Copper love to stay with her but she was also very responsive. We left for 8 days. The house was exactly the way we left it at departure, sidewalks and driveway were shoveled, plants were watered, dishes were done, sheets cleaned and our snake Cora was taken care of. Skye is responsible and caring of your home and your privacy. I'll be sure to make Skye our go to for every trip we may be away and daily touch base with Copper. Thanks for everything Skye”

“haydn was absolutely AMAZING while we were away. constant communication, photos and care for my fur baby followed to a tee. i felt very comfortable leaving waldo with haydn and our house was taken care of perfectly. we will absolutely be rebooking with haydn for future trips out of town.”

“We were thrilled with Ashley’s care of our senior dogs. Frequent updates and a ton of patience with our altered travel plans. Thanks Ashley we will certainly use your services again.”
“Cassandra was AMAZING. Stepped in last minute while we were away and were having a terrible experience with another sitter. She hadn’t met us or our dogs and promptly agreed to help out. Took over care and handled everything with ease, got our senior dogs back on track with medications, and bonded with our newer dog who’s a little nervous of new people. Fantastic with communication and we felt such a sense of relief knowing our dogs were being properly cared for. Thank you! Would absolutely recommend.”

“Jin was amazing with my dog. She’s spent the whole long weekend with him and She’s very reliable and attentive, followed everything I said, and was very attentive to my dogs needs. Always responded so quickly and took him to do many fun things. Super appreciated having her with my dog.”

About: I had a dog throughout my childhood and I have had dogs of my own for the last 20 years. I have trained 2 puppies before. I have taken care of 2 senior dogs before as well. I work remotely from home so I am home most of the time. I also have a dog of my own so I care for her and walk her daily. I have a fenced yard with a dog run. My home backs onto a pond with walking paths close by. I walk my own dog daily.
“Absolutely wonderful experience! She watched all four of my cats at her home from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, and I couldn’t have been happier with how well they were cared for. She was extremely reliable, communicative, and thoughtful throughout the day. She sent me lots of photos and even asked before giving them treats, which I really appreciated. She was absolutely lovely with all four of my cats, and they were relaxed and happy the entire time. Even my very nervous kitty settled in surprisingly quickly! My baby kitten unfortunately had an accident on the way there and got poop all over my other cats, and she was incredibly kind and understanding about it. She cleaned them up for me without making a fuss, which I was so grateful for. All four of my cats came home happy, comfortable, and clearly had a great time at her place. I would absolutely trust her with my cats again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring, responsible, and genuinely wonderful with animals! ❤️🐱”
“Great communication the entire time. Very passionate about this job, tons of pictures and videos and updates every day. Will definitely rebook when I need a pet sitter again, exactly the kind of person I'd want watching my pets”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Chestermere
Anne was amazing with our kitty, Daisy! Daisy is usually very shy and skittish, but she took to Anne right away, which really put us at ease. Anne sent daily updates and photos, which we truly appreciated and made it so easy to relax while we were away. It was clear she spent quality time with Daisy and made sure she felt comfortable and cared for. We also came home to an immaculate house. We would absolutely book with Anne again and highly recommend her!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chestermere maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chestermere walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chestermere choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
