Expert Care for Dogs, Cats & Bunny

I am a huge animal lover, and although most of my experience is with dogs, cats, and bunnies, I am happy to take care of all types of animals. A majority of my experience comes from caring for my own fur babies, however, I have looked after my friend's fur/ feathered/ scaled children, and have also been an impromptu dog sitter on numerous occasions when I've taken in dogs that double as escape artists, and kept them safe until their parents were identified and could come and retrieve them. I have looked after dogs of all types and sizes and I can say that I genuinely love them all. I have a lot of experience with senior dogs that are special needs and require medication. I know firsthand how impossible it feels to be away from them because of a strict medication schedule or special care requirements, and I am happy to be able to use my own experience to ensure that your fur baby gets the care they need, while giving you peace of mind that they are being loved and looked after. At one point I had 4 fur babies of my own. It was a diverse crew that consisted of 2 dogs, a cat, and a bunny. Blue was a sassy bunny that I found and rescued. Nacho was a Chihuahua/Jack Russel mix that I took in from a wonderful but busy family, and he was the BEST boy that ever lived. Spike was a Chihuahua and happened to be my soul dog and the absolute love of my life. Gaia is my quirky, mischievous kitty who makes me laugh daily. As Nacho got older he became my special needs boy, his sight started to go when he was 16, followed by his hearing when he was 17. I had to learn how to communicate with him when he couldn't see or hear me and I quickly learned how much extra supervision and care a special needs doggo requires, let's just say that his newfound superpower was wandering off at a surprisingly fast pace. A leash and collar made him feel less confident during this time so I became the ultimate hover parent / traveling companion as we traversed big open fields, sometimes walking in circles as we were guided by Nacho's nose. At the end of the day, he was a happy little dude and I just adapted to what he needed in the moment. A common health issue with small dogs is congestive heart failure and unfortunately, both Nacho and Spike were diagnosed with the condition. This meant a strict medication schedule that needed to be administered every 12 hours. I got lucky with Nacho because he was a total foodie and he took the meds pretty easily, Spike on the other hand was an extremely picky eater, and getting him to take his meds became the most challenging task that I have encountered to this day. I know that every animal is unique and has their own personality, quirks, likes, and dislikes. I would love the opportunity to get to know you and your adorable animal/s and offer support by going for daily walks or looking after them when you're gone. I'm happy to answer any questions and or set up a meet and greet with you and your animal/s.

Laura was super communicative and sent pictures while we were away. The dogs seemed happy and well loved and she even watered our plants.

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I am currently working part time and have a pretty flexible schedule. I am available after 1pm Mon-Thu, and am available anytime Fri-Sun. I am available to do overnight care during the week, but I will need to be at work during the morning and early afternoon.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

Each situation is different and every pet is unique. We can go over the services that you are looking for and any house rules that you have. Letting a stranger into your home to take care of your beloved fur babies requires a huge amount of trust, which is something that I don't take lightly. I like to establish a clear set of boundaries so that I can make sure I am respecting you and your home to the fullest capacity. I also like to go over what a typical day for your pet would look like so that I can mimic their normal day to day activites, schedule, and feeding patterns as closely as possible.

Pets

A typical day

Every pet is different, I like to customize the activities and level of energy that I bring to them. For example, senior dogs might enjoy an easy walk followed by a massage, whereas a puppy will benefit from many bathroom breaks and a good chew toy. I like to set up fun challenges for bunnies and I always have a laser pointer on hand for a kitty.
