Currently not working till September but will be driving bus for the school year. I will have mid day, evenings and weekends available to care for animals. “Daniela did an excellent job looking after our two dogs. Our older dog has some health concerns and Daniela provided great care of her and provided numerous updates and photos during her time with the dogs. She was very responsive with messages and I would recommend her to others for dog sitting jobs.”

“I was very pleased with her pleasant personality and constant updates on how my Asher was doing. She helped me out considerably. If the time comes around again I would ask her again. For sure.”

“We have a new puppy and an older dog who just had his remaining eye removed. Both pups required special care and Jodi was just the best! She was here on Easter Sunday and gave us the freedom to go visit family and not take the new pup or recovering dog with us. I would recommend Jodi to anyone who wants excellent care for their fur babies.”

“Emily took care of my small yorkie and cat while I was away for 10 days. She was very communicative, respectful of my property and sent photos regularly. I will definitely be hiring her again.”

About: I have always had pets as a child and continued to take care of animals throughout my entire lifetime. As a child, I was able to observe how they behaved and interacted with one another, which allowed me to learn their habits, needs, and different personalities, e.g., energetic puppies; timid pets; and elderly pets that require a gentler approach. What distinguishes me from others is my ability to be patient, dependable, and my excellent communication skills, something that I have developed while studying to become a Social Worker. I know how to listen actively and remain calm in stressful situations, as well as being compassionate, all of which greatly contribute to providing safe, reliable, and loving care for animals. I take time to understand each animal's behaviour and routine, as well as any special needs, so they can be comfortable and enjoy being cared for while you are away. My aspiration is to treat each pet as if it were my own and to always create the best possible experience, with little or no stress for the owner or pet. I’ve incorporated my dog-walking services and other services naturally into my schedule. This allows me to walk your pet during the day, visit and/or stay with them while you work or are away. I will always be reliable with regard to timing and communication. I carefully plan my schedule so that I can give every pet that I look after proper exercise and attention on a consistent basis, and I make sure that each pet's daily routine is closely adhered to (this would include feeding, walking, medication, or playtime). Most evenings and weekends are open, and are ideal for long stays or extra visits. Your fur-baby is my top priority when caring for them, I make it my mission to protect your pet and give them the best care they need!

“Chelsea was fantastic! She was extremely communicative and thorough right from the initial meet-and-greet. She kept us updated the entire time and took some of the absolute best photos of our dogs. We wouldn't hesitate to book with Chelsea again anytime we need a sitter!”

“Olga was wonderful. She sent me photos and kept me in the loop with how my dog was doing, My puppy is blind so he’s a bit more work than usual but she was great with him. Highly recommend”

I received regular updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. I came home to a happy dog that was well-exercised, and clearly loved. Will definitely be booking again!”

About: 🐾 About Me Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have extensive hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, and reptiles, and I've spent years pet-sitting for friends and family while always sharing my home with animals of my own. I currently have two cats and 2 dogs, all rescues, and definitely all the best decisions I ever made! :) 🐕 My Experience In addition to caring for my own pets and pet sitting for friends and family, I have volunteered in civilian rescue and transport for high-risk dogs and served as a volunteer cat caregiver with AARCS. 😊 The Rescue of Sally and Her Puppies. I rescued and transported a lot of dogs and cats over the past few years, but the biggest undertaking was helping rescue a mother dog, who we later named Sally, and her 8 one-day-old puppies from a reserve in Alberta during -38°C temperatures. I transported this special fur family to my dog trainer's acreage where we set up a secure, safe, warm area. I learned how to care for them and help with early socialization, structure, and training to prepare them for life with their future families. Every puppy, and Sally herself, has since been adopted into loving, forever homes. Being part of something like this was definitely one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences of my life! I am in a position with much flexibility and availability in my schedule, allowing me to easily accommodate most booking requests with little advanced notice. ❤️ Your Pet Is Family Every pet parent should have worry-free, stress-free pet care. I will treat your animals with the same love, and your home with the same respect, as I do my own. I understand that every animal, just like people, is unique. I'll take the time to earn their trust, understand their needs, likes, and dislikes, so they will be well cared for, and they will get an abundance of fun and cuddles! Whether we're going for a walk, playing in the yard, or simply keeping each other company while you're away, you will receive photos and messages during our visits so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your fur-baby is in caring, capable hands.
“Taylex was amazing and really saved us on Christmas Day so our dogs didn't have to stay home alone for too long. She is very kind and sweet, and she is someone you can trust in your home. We really appreciate her time and we will definitely use her again in the future:) Dori and Terry”

Cash was amazing!! We’ve got 4 animals and she made sure they were all taken care of and loved appropriately! She sent pictures everyday with updates so we always knew how they were doing and was super communicative! Our dogs can be reactive on leashes and she walked them and managed them with no issues! Our house was just as clean as we left it if not cleaner and all our animals were happy!! Amazing job!

Daniela is absolutely wonderful! She provided regular updates and adorable photos every day, which put my mind completely at ease while we were on vacation. Daniela genuinely cared for our Rozie and Victoria as if they were her own. We came home to a happy, calm pets and a spotless house. I would definitely recommend her and gladly reach out next time we are out of town!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Okotoks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Okotoks walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Okotoks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
