“Our 5-year-old Pippin was a happy camper during his first holiday at Sandra’s and Jessie’s. He had, of course, met both of them at the ‘meet and greet’ at their home, but what really surprised us was how excited he was when we dropped him off. He knew precisely where we had taken him and he raced up their front steps and started barking with excitement at the front door. Clearly, Sandra and Jessie and their very sweet dog Daisy had made a great first impression! Both Sandra and Jessie are dog lovers and dog carers par excellence and that put Pippin and us at ease. Throughout Pippin’s two-week stay, Sandra sent us daily updates with photos, which was fun and informative. Pippin is an extremely well-behaved dog, so much so he never jumps on furniture (despite all our encouragement), but Sandra has a secret weapon—dog stairs for couch access!—and she taught Pippin how to use them. When I went to pick up Pippin, he was very excited to see me—lots of licks!—but he also turned to Sandra to give her licks, too, as if to say ‘thank you’. We have no doubt that Pippin will be delighted to spend more time with Sandra, Jessie and Daisy in the future!”

Goji is a picky eater and they even made him food to encourage him to eat. They took him on lots of hikes and swims and so much fun. It’s clear he was treated like family. It means the world to me knowing he was so well looked after, and we could tell he had the best time from all the photo updates. I work full time but have a hybrid job that allows me to work from home some days. Walk my dog daily 2x/day min and play outside in back yard with balls:) Dog park is close and a nice swimming hole! Everything started at my grandma’s house where I used to pet sit her cat which led to me owning a cat and a dog at our house which I had to pet sit when my mom and dad were away. I have a lot of energy and love to run and I also love to make animals happy so I am committed to making sure dogs get enriching walks and training time, and cats get interactive play time. Call me, your animal will thank you :) I work weekends and have a flexible work schedule during the week so just let me know what times you need pet care and we can work it out! When I am caring for any dog I make sure to take them on a variety of walks, such as sniff-walks, training-walks, and exercise walks. I also understand the importance of play for both cats and dogs, and make sure to incorporate that as well. I am also comfortable going to the dog park for socialization if the dog I’m with is good in that setting. I normally don't let them say hi to other dogs or people on a walk unless the person I'm watching them for specifically says it’s ok or they want me to socialize their dog while on the leash.

Message for details! :) I am a pre-veterinary student, work at an animal hospital in the NE, and work on the medical team at my favourite animal shelter here in Calgary! In addition to taking care of animals of my own, I have multiple years of experience caring for the needs of dogs, cats, and exotics - ranging from simple to complex needs. Whether it's medical, behavioural, dietary, juvenile, senior, all of the above, or other; I got you covered. My priority is understanding your pet's body language and needs to make sure their experience is as comfortable as possible while meeting their requirements. *Note that my rates are negotiable :) I currently work and study part time, and have flexible availability with my own transportation. I'm available especially at odd, early, or late hours so that we can find the best time for you and your pet. Your pets comfort, safety, and routine is my priority! I have an abundance of experience working with animals in indoor and outdoor environments, and am comfortable using crates, muzzles, harnesses, leads, halters, backpacks, other carriers, etc. to ensure your pet is secure and safe. I'm versed in appropriate and safe handling and restraint techniques and am able to lift heavier loads (i.e. your big babies!).
