We returned to a happy, tired dog with lots of photos. Cora asked reasonable questions about a young energetic dog, and the clean and tidied up house was a nice surprise to come home to!

Absolutely amazing sitter! Dale is always on time, treated my dogs like his own, and paid close attention to all their needs. Dale stayed with my two anxious fur babies for several overnights in my home and I swear my house was cleaner than when I left! I loved getting updates every morning and evening—it gave me such peace of mind. Truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Honestly, I almost don’t want to share how great he is because he may get too busy and I will have difficulty booking him in the future. Highly recommend!

About: Mon - Fri (7:30-10:30) Sat - Sun (All day) I have ten years’ experience caring for dogs and senior pets, including feeding, walking, medication support, gentle handling, and patient attention to individual routines needs. I have a flexible schedule and can provide pet care on weekdays and weekends. I am available for walks, feeding, playtime, and drop-in visits. I will always confirm the time in advance and provide reliable care. I always follow the pet owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding, walking, medication, and house rules. I keep doors, gates, and leashes secure at all times, and I never let a pet off-leash unless the owner has clearly approved it in a safe area.make sure pets have fresh water, a clean and comfortable space, regular bathroom breaks, exercise, and attention. I also watch for any changes in behaviour, appetite, or health, and I contact the owner immediately if I notice anything unusual. In a client’s home, I respect their property, keep the area clean, and make sure everything is locked and secure before I leave. I will also send photos and updates so the owner knows their pet is safe and doing well.

We were so fortunate to have Stacey care for our house and very active 9 month old dog Ollie while we were on vacation. Stacey and her sweet furry side kick Fred entertained Ollie with brain games, fetch, long walks and lots of snuggles! She sent us pictures and updates daily which our whole family enjoyed. We were so worried about Ollie due to him having separation anxiety. However, Stacey’s experience with dogs and willingness to keep Ollie mentally and physically stimulates worked like a charm! We will recommend Stacey to everyone and would be happy to have her help again!!

This was the first time we left our dog since getting her. Kim sent updates as well as pictures of our dog to us daily which helped ease my daughter’s mind. She took exceptional care of meeka and I am so glad I chose her to dog sit. I am hoping to have Kim as a permanent dog sitter as we know meeka was loved and spoiled over the weekend we were gone. She also left our house super clean which she didn’t have to do at all! Thanks again Kim!!

Mike took absolutely fantastic care of my two cats and kept me informed and updated throughout the whole time he was house sitting. My cats are usually a little skittish around new people but they loved Mike’s calm energy immediately.

She truly goes above and beyond. She did everything to make sure my poor girl was comfortable as she was having some anxiety issues and she took every extra step to help her get through it. By the end they were besties… which also eased my mind. Was also a special sprite to come home to a house that was put together and dogs that were happy and excited. She will be permanent and regular

Borys & Purity were great. The dogs loved them and their energy they bring to the sit. They took good care of our dogs, fed them on time and went for a long walk. Chewy & Nova are lap dogs so loved the cuddles. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing their house and dogs taken care of while they are away.

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I recently moved to Canada from Ukraine, while my own dog, Oskar, stayed back home with my family. I miss him every day, and caring for other dogs brings me so much joy and helps me feel connected to what I love most. I’ve spent years looking after Oskar as well as dogs belonging to friends and family. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I always treat them with patience, kindness, and love. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages throughout their stay. I work full-time Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Before and after work, I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, and love. I’m available for overnight stays, evenings, weekends, and longer bookings. I’ll always follow your pet’s routine and provide regular photo and message updates, so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely enjoy supervised outdoor time. I follow each pet’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), and any special instructions. I believe every dog deserves to feel relaxed, loved, and at home while their family is away :)

Anastasiia is amazing. We booked her last minute for a two week stay after our cat injured himself and needed more care while we were away. We were very anxious about traveling while he was hurt and needed vet checks. From the moment we met, we could tell that she truly loves and understands animals. She took such great care of all of our pets including our injured cat who required daily medication, our other two cats and our small dog. We received frequent communication and pictures. I could tell that our pets were loved, happy and very comfortable. It allowed us to go on our vacation with absolute peace of mind. I can’t say enough good things about Anastasiia.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Crossfield on Rover is $73.26 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,197 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Crossfield. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crossfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crossfield walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crossfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
