“Gina was awesome, very comfortable to leave our fur babies in her care. We made arrangements for her to meet our pets prior to us going away and they both took to her right away which made us feel at ease since our dog can be a bit shy, but she went right over to her and befriended her. Gina also kept us up to date with daily reports and pictures of our dog and cat. Highly recommended Gina.”

“Andrea was so wonderful with William. She is great at sending pictures and letting us know how things are going. She was very flexible and patient with our schedule. We are so very impressed, we highly recommend her, and will definitely be using her again.”

“Cassidy was excellent, the dogs liked her and she liked the dogs. She sent me photos, she was timely for everything and she washed the sheets and remade her bed. I would recommend her!”

“Cecilia is a lovely human and was so nice to deal with. Our big goody dog was well cared for while we were away. She spent lots of time with him and going for walks. She was more than mindful of our home while staying, nothing was left of of place and she was very good to communicate with.”
“Lucie was great with my dogs, they can be a handful, so it was nice to have someone come and stay in my home with them. She sent photos and updates throughout the weekend. And I came home to happy dogs and a clean house!”

“Sara helped out last minute and was super accommodating to take care of our Annie! The house was spotless when she left as well. Very grateful for services and we would love to have her back.”

“Victoria was great-very professional, friendly and on time for sitting. Very good communication with daily updates and pictures. Victoria was very tidy and left my house in very good state after leaving. Very accommodating to my dog’s quirks and meal/snack preparation. Daily walks with my dog to keep up his routine that he was used to. Really made me feel good about leaving my dog. Highly recommend Victoria.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with over 10 years of experience caring for, walking, and living with dogs of my own. I’m Pet First Aid Certified and have earned 100+ five-star reviews from happy pet parents, so you can feel confident knowing your dog is being cared for by someone experienced, reliable, and genuinely excited to have them around. One of the biggest perks of staying with me is that I work from home, which means your dog won’t be spending their day alone. I’m around throughout the day for company, attention, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of belly scratches. I’m also a big believer that dogs deserve more than a quick trip around the block. I make it a priority to get dogs out for about an hour of walking and outdoor time each day, and I try to make that time count! Depending on your dog’s energy level and personality, that might mean a good-paced walk, lots of sniffing and exploring, or simply getting outside and enjoying some fresh air. I’m friendly, active, outdoorsy, and genuinely just love having dogs around. My goal is for your dog to feel comfortable, happy, exercised, and cared for while you’re away and for you to have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I’d love to meet you and your pup! Pet care fits naturally into our everyday routine! Since I work from home, I'm around throughout the day, so your dog gets plenty of company, attention, potty breaks, and playtime rather than being left alone for hours. I love being active and getting outside, so daily walks are already a big part of my lifestyle. I aim for at least an hour of walking/outdoor activity each day and make that time worthwhile. Whether that’s a good walk to burn some energy, exploring and sniffing, or adjusting the pace to what your dog enjoys most. Throughout the workday, the dogs are welcome to hang out with me, relax nearby, play, or find their favourite spot for a nap. I can also easily work feeding schedules, medications, potty breaks, and other routines into our day. On evenings and weekends, I'm often spending time outside, going for walks, or simply relaxing at home and the dogs are part of it! My goal is to make their stay feel less like they’re being “boarded” and more like they’re joining my household and routine while their family is away. I care for every dog staying with us the same way I’d want someone to care for our own with lots of attention, a safe environment, and a routine that works for them. I'm very mindful about keeping my home dogs-safe. I'm diligent about keeping food and anything tempting out of reach, and I pay close attention to each dog’s individual habits, personality, and needs. I also have a fully fenced yard, making potty breaks and outdoor time easy throughout the day. Since I work from home, I'm able to keep a close eye on the dogs and let them outside whenever they need rather than relying on a rigid schedule. Most importantly, I know every dog is different! I'm happy to adjust my routine around your pet, whether they need a specific feeding schedule, more frequent potty breaks, extra exercise, medication, quiet time, or just a little more attention while they settle in. My goal is simple: keep your dog safe, comfortable, happy, and feeling at home while they’re with me.
“Erin was terrific. She communicated well, took care of Koda and our home very well ... everything was tidy and it great shape upon our return. She sent us some photos each day we were away. We would use Erin's services again.”

“I had an excellent experience with Sherry, would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for reliable and compassionate pet care. From the very beginning, they were professional, responsive, and clearly passionate about animals. My dog can be a bit anxiety, but she took the time to get to know him and made sure he felt comfortable and safe. I received regular updates, including photos and messages, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that my dog was not only well cared for, but also genuinely happy. They followed all instructions carefully, maintained my dog’s routine, and even went above and beyond by spending extra time playing and engaging with him. When I returned, my dog was relaxed and content—always a great sign of quality care. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and truly caring, I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.”

“Dionne was excellent with our girls ❤️ I was able to relax while away knowing they were in such great care. Dogs were happy when we got home, house looked great. Will definitely be reaching out for care again in the future!”

“Shaelynn was our literal angel for our two fur babies. We couldn’t have asked for anyone more relatable and tolerable of our puppies. We booked Shae last minute and had a whole 4-page information document prepared for her on our two dogs. Not only did Shae enthusiastically sit through our long explanation and walk through of the house, but she also sat the entire time with our clingy Ms Peanut and endured her constant paws of affection. We came back to two puppies who were reluctant to leave Shae. Thank you so much for being the absolute gem that you are Shae! We can’t wait to have you again soon”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for years through dog walking, overnight stays, and pet sitting. One of the first puppies I ever pet sat for is a dog I still care for years later, which has allowed me to build a strong relationship with both the dog and owner over time. Last summer, I started doing overnight stays for two dogs and gained experience with feeding routines, walks, playtime, companionship, and keeping dogs comfortable in their home environment while their owners are away. What sets me apart is that I genuinely love spending time with animals and always try to make dogs feel safe, cared for, and treated like family. I’m patient, reliable, attentive, and understand how important it is for owners to know their pets are in good hands. Pet care fits well into my schedule alongside my two part-time jobs. I work at a golf course in Bragg Creek and also do housekeeping and laundry at a hotel in Cochrane. My shifts vary, which gives me flexibility for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays. I’m good at planning my schedule ahead of time to make sure pets get the attention, care, and consistency they need while their owners are away. I currently provide pet care in my client’s home, where pets are usually most comfortable and able to stay in their normal routine and environment. At this time, I’m unable to offer boarding in my own home, as the people I’m currently staying with do not allow pets. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent as possible through feeding schedules, walks, playtime, companionship, and overnight care when needed. I always try to create a calm, safe, and comfortable environment and treat both the pets and the home with respect and care.
“Natalia did a great job looking after all 5 of my pets! I have two special needs pets and she had no problem providing quality care to them. She took my dog for two long walks a day, played fetch with her and made sure she got lots of love. The cats got lots of love, rewards and attention. The house looked great when we returned as well. I will absolutely be booking Natalia as a sitter again in the future.”

About: Aside from owning and training my own puppy, I have looked after pets of my family and friends. I treat pets with love and respect! No pet is too “difficult” or “wild” for me to handle! I am currently a university student going into my fourth and final year. I also work once a week at my part-time job. My upcoming school year is pretty light so I have some free time on my hands that I would love to dedicate to taking care of pets! I am very respectful of clients homes, I follow every warning and instruction left for me with full caution and care. Communication between me and the client is crucial for me in order for me to give my best performance.

If you are looking for someone you can count on fully while staying in your home with your fur babies - look no further! Not for one minute did we have any worries while we were away. Dionne was communicative and easy to reach if we needed anything. She cared for our big girls like they were her own and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Will DEFINITELY be booking again!! MnM miss her already!!!❤️

Really sweet with the animals. Took care of all three and let us know Freddie was good with his insulin. The only thing i would ask for is a few more photos. We are ok with getting a couple batches of the crew throughout the day. But we will definitely be requesting Cassidy again and want to wish her success with the upcoming university year. A really bubbly and sweet caregiver for our animals. Thank you

Victoria was great-very professional, friendly and on time for sitting. Highly recommend Victoria.

Faith did a wonderful job looking after our two dogs. She provided multiple photo and text updates during her stay with them, and was quick to reply to me whenever I checked in. She left our house just as clean as we left it for her which was greatly appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate at all to have Faith look after our dogs again!

I couldn’t recommend Maja enough. She is such a sweet, kind hearted, and such a thoughtful young woman. She was so gentle and kind to my pups. I’m always hesitant to have new people watch my fur babies but that quickly went away when she was with my doggos. She takes time, doesn’t rush to get in and out for visits, actually stayed and spent time with my pups and gave them plenty of love and treats. She gave me lots of updates throughout the stay and made me feel comfortable knowing I didn’t have to worry. Highly recommend! 🫶🏽

It was so awesome having Rachael look after Mia for me. She was very professional, friendly and I can tell she loves doing what she does. She wasn’t able to meet Mia during the meet and greet because Mia was hiding but when she came over she was able to convince her to come out with no problem. It was great to have so many pictures sent to me while I was away as I could tell Mia was happy. She left my home very clean and even put on and emptied my dish washer for me. I look forward to having her babysit again and I’m sure Mia will be happy to have her as well!!!!

If I could leave a 10 star review I would!! Cecelia was absolutely incredible with our dog and made the entire pet-sitting process so easy for us. She was so sweet and lovely and extremely attentive to our pets needs. I can’t stress enough how wonderful she was and I cannot give her a higher recommendation. We will absolutely be using her again to help care for our dog :)

Kiara was totally awesome. She looked after my two labs so well with daily walks and she even took them to a new park in Canmore. Kiara sent daily pictures and kept us informed everyday on how Bean and Ember were doing. I will definitely be getting Kiara again. 💗

Gina is amazing!! She looked after our dog and house better than we could have ever expected. We also had a last minute flight cancellation and she immediately offered to go above and beyond and stay longer and make sure our little Luka was all looked after. I can’t recommend her enough. We will definitely book with her again for all future travel.

HUGE thank you to Nevaeh! She took very very good care of my old boy, and on extremely short notice. I felt he was in really good hands and I felt comfortable during my vacation. Her and her dog stayed in my home for 6 days and the place looked amazing when I arrived back. She will be my go to whenever we are in need!

Deborah was lovely to have stay in my home and to look after my fur family. My dogs loved her on first meeting. She took wonderful care of both my dogs and my cat. I received pictures daily of walks and relaxing times around the house. I was very happy and felt comfortable leaving my pets in her care while I was away. I would definitely have Deborah look after them again in the future if needed.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cochrane maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cochrane walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cochrane choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
