Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with over 10 years of experience caring for, walking, and living with dogs of my own. I’m Pet First Aid Certified and have earned 100+ five-star reviews from happy pet parents, so you can feel confident knowing your dog is being cared for by someone experienced, reliable, and genuinely excited to have them around. One of the biggest perks of staying with me is that I work from home, which means your dog won’t be spending their day alone. I’m around throughout the day for company, attention, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of belly scratches. I’m also a big believer that dogs deserve more than a quick trip around the block. I make it a priority to get dogs out for about an hour of walking and outdoor time each day, and I try to make that time count! Depending on your dog’s energy level and personality, that might mean a good-paced walk, lots of sniffing and exploring, or simply getting outside and enjoying some fresh air. I’m friendly, active, outdoorsy, and genuinely just love having dogs around. My goal is for your dog to feel comfortable, happy, exercised, and cared for while you’re away and for you to have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I’d love to meet you and your pup!

We had such a great experience leaving our dog with Dedra. It was really reassuring knowing that he was getting lots of attention throughout the day and wasn't just sitting around by himself. She sent us plenty of updates, followed his feeding routine perfectly, took him on great walks, and made him feel completely at home. It felt much more personal than leaving him at a kennel.
Dedra is a professional! She is always on time, extremely courteous and happy, and I can tell she cares for my dog as much as I do. I have zero words when I go away and one thing that I love is, she always make sure to get the dogs out for a long walk and having more energetic dogs that’s great cause I know they’re being taken care of! Regardless, rain, sun shine.

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into our everyday routine! Since I work from home, I'm around throughout the day, so your dog gets plenty of company, attention, potty breaks, and playtime rather than being left alone for hours. I love being active and getting outside, so daily walks are already a big part of my lifestyle. I aim for at least an hour of walking/outdoor activity each day and make that time worthwhile. Whether that’s a good walk to burn some energy, exploring and sniffing, or adjusting the pace to what your dog enjoys most. Throughout the workday, the dogs are welcome to hang out with me, relax nearby, play, or find their favourite spot for a nap. I can also easily work feeding schedules, medications, potty breaks, and other routines into our day. On evenings and weekends, I'm often spending time outside, going for walks, or simply relaxing at home and the dogs are part of it! My goal is to make their stay feel less like they’re being “boarded” and more like they’re joining my household and routine while their family is away.

I care for every dog staying with us the same way I’d want someone to care for our own with lots of attention, a safe environment, and a routine that works for them. I'm very mindful about keeping my home dogs-safe. I'm diligent about keeping food and anything tempting out of reach, and I pay close attention to each dog’s individual habits, personality, and needs. I also have a fully fenced yard, making potty breaks and outdoor time easy throughout the day. Since I work from home, I'm able to keep a close eye on the dogs and let them outside whenever they need rather than relying on a rigid schedule. Most importantly, I know every dog is different! I'm happy to adjust my routine around your pet, whether they need a specific feeding schedule, more frequent potty breaks, extra exercise, medication, quiet time, or just a little more attention while they settle in. My goal is simple: keep your dog safe, comfortable, happy, and feeling at home while they’re with me.
A typical day
There isn’t a strict minute-by-minute schedule because every dog is different, but my days generally revolve around a few things: routine, outside time, company and plenty of downtime. Mornings usually start with a bathroom break, breakfast and getting outside. From there, I settle into our workday and because I work from home, the dogs are usually right there with me. Some nap beside the desk. Some follow me around the house. Some would happily spend half the day investigating the backyard. 😂 I make sure walks and outdoor time are part of the stay rather than an optional add-on. I also adjust activity based on the dog in front of us. A young energetic dog may want a bigger outing, while a senior dog might be much happier with a leisurely sniff around the neighbourhood and an afternoon on the couch. Evenings are dinner, another outside break or walk, relaxing at home, and photo updates so you can see how things are going. And with a maximum of two guest dogs at a time, I have the flexibility to actually adapt the day around them. The goal isn’t to give every dog the exact same vacation. It’s to make their stay feel as close to their version of a good day as possible.
