“JoAnn is wonderful! So glad we have a great place for Ellie to stay while we are away. She plays very well with Peanut and JoAnn takes great care of her. Thanks again!”

“Brianna is amazing! The dogs feel so safe with her already at the time we met, just like old friends. Brianna and family showed a lot of love to my dogs. She also updated me with photos and videos, which you would know the dogs are in good care. Highly recommend Brianna if you need the help of day care or boarding.”

“Unfortunately, my dog has anxiety which defeated her today, so she wasn't able to stay for the day. But Amber tried really hard to calm her, and in a different circumstance, I would absolutely entrust a dog to her. She was very patient and understanding and communicated well with me.”

“Grace seemed very happy when we picked her up and i believe she was well taken care of by scarlet and miguel.Would definately reach out to them again when we are in alberta next summer Hopefully they are still in the business.Highly recommend them.”

“Amazing service from amazing people. Easy and fast communication. Loves dogs as her own. Plenty of updates on how happy the dogs are Will continue to use without hesitation. Thank you”

About: I have experience in working at the humane society and various vet clinics. I am studying pet nutrition and behaviour which includes cats and their special ways. I am available to walk your dog, let them out or pop over for supper if you are running late. My schedule is flexible and I am able to help out on short notice. I am a mature adult, currently working a few days per week so I have the flexibility and time to look after your fur babies. I have a regular client who brings their cat to my home, however most cats prefer the comfort of their own home so I am available to take care of your cats and plants leaving you to to enjoy your time away.
“Zoe was very nice and took our day before request to watch our Willow. The residence is in a new development and they have a small fenced in backyard. For some reason our Willow couldn’t wait to get out of there but maybe she was just missing us. Thanks Zoe !”
About: I grew up on a hobby farm and was surrounded by many animals who were all pets, as well as I used to work at the pet valu in Cochrane. I have cared for many dogs and cats in my life and I am confident in my abilities to handle any pet that is in my care. I work part time right now so I have plenty of time in my schedule for pet sitting, walking, feeding, etc.. I am excited to get to know and love your pets :) I have fenced yard in the back of my home as well as living across the street from a nature preserve and next to the trails along the river in town
About: As parents of three young kids and long-time dog owners, we know exactly how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. Our household is a warm, structured, and loving environment where your dog will never feel lonely. We have a friendly dog of our own, meaning your pup will have an instant playmate and an established routine of daily walks, yard playtime, and plenty of affection. Because we are a bustling family, someone is almost always home. This ensures constant supervision and round-the-clock care. My children are well-trained to respect animals and give them space, while my spouse and I manage all primary care, feeding, and medication needs. We treat every guest dog like a member of our own family, keeping you updated with daily photos and messages so you can enjoy total peace of mind. Pet care fits seamlessly into our week because my wife and I both work casual shifts with highly flexible schedules. This tag-team approach ensures our home is rarely empty, allowing us to build our daily routine entirely around the needs of the dogs. Your pup will enjoy a structured day filled with timely morning walks, back-yard playtime, and regular potty breaks, all seamlessly integrated alongside our own dog’s established routine. We do not work traditional 9-to-5 office hours, so we have the unique ability to adapt to your pet's specific lifestyle. Whether your dog requires frequent outdoor breaks, mid-day medication, or just extra companionship during the afternoon, our flexible setup allows us to deliver constant supervision. We are always around to provide a watchful eye, plenty of family affection, and the peace of mind that your dog is never left waiting. Whether hosting a guest in our home or caring for them in yours, safety and active fun are our top priorities. In our home, your dog enjoys the freedom of our fully fenced backyard for safe, off-leash playtime, along with daily socialization alongside our own friendly pup. We keep dogs active and engaged through frequent neighborhood walks and regular trips to the local dog park for social pets who love to run. If we are caring for your pet at your home, we bring that same energetic, responsible approach—maintaining their precise exercise routine and house rules. Thanks to our flexible casual work schedules, we can easily tailor the day to your dog’s specific energy level and send you frequent photo updates of their adventures.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Cochrane commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
