About: We are experienced in doggy care and have been dog parents ourselves. We have taken care of and brought up 2 dogs from puppy stage to an adult dog stage. We love spending time with our beloved furry friends at our leisure, and will always make sure they are in good care and have everything they need at all times. There’s two of us looking after our dogs and one of us also work from home full time so there is always one of us attentive at home at all times. We will also provide ‘day in the life’ update pictures during the day. We have a safe and fully fenced backyard at the back of our house that the dogs can freely access to play and do their business at all times. We are also very close to a walking trail and can take the dogs on walks to ensure their daily exercise needs are met. We would only take dogs (up to two dogs) from one household at a time to ensure your loved ones are looked after with attention and care. We prefer to schedule a meet and greet (free of charge) before accepting any bookings because it will make sure we can get together to know your lovely dog and ensure we can accommodate all its needs. We believe this helps in protecting both parties and allow us to introduce each other, ensuring the best care possible. Dog caring is part of our daily routine. We prioritize their need with ours, whether it is the first thing in the morning or last thing at night. We are a team of two so one of us will always be home to watch your loved ones. We also have a very friendly dog that would socialize with your dog if they want to.

We have now had our pop with just a few times and it has been an incredible experience! Our dog is not only happy every time we pick him up, but now when he sees where we are pulling up to drop him off he gets unbelievably excited and can't get out of the door to Jeff fast enough 🤣 not to mention Jeff has been incredible with communication and providing us with pictures and updates throughout the day. We feel very comfortable when our dog is with him!

Your fur baby is in for a real treat at my place! With a fenced backyard, your pup will have plenty of room to play and explore. Additionally, I have a friendly dog of my own who would love nothing more than to keep your fur baby company, whether it's running around and playing or taking a nap indoors. If your pup is in need of a change of scenery, there are a number of parks and a greenbelt near our house, providing easy access to new sights, sounds, and smells. We can take leisurely walks or explore the park's many trails, providing your pup with a chance to destress and engage their senses. With plenty of outdoor and indoor spaces to play and relax, your furry friend will feel right at home in our care.

About: I have always had pets since I am a kid, currently I have a miniature Schnauzer 2.5 years old, he is allowed on the sofa and he sleeps on his bed at night, I don't like the crate concept. He has never damage anything in the house. He also enjoys going on the chair by the window to distract himself. I work from home and have a fenced backyard so my dog goes outside often and on sunny days he likes to take the sun outside. When I leave the house the max amount of time I have ever leave him alone is 6 hours, the average is 4 hours. Your dog will be treated equally, with love, attention, snuggling on the coach when we watch tv, sleeping where they like it and able to use the backyard and toys. I have a 15 years old daughter who loves dogs too, and we alternate to walk the dog on daily basis every afternoon. I work from home, and have a dog, so your dog will rarely be alone. When I go out its usually for a max of 6 hours, average 4 hours. I have a fenced backyard, dogs are treated with love and lots of cuddles, there are many toys too, they can sleep wherever they please, I have blocked the bedrooms area, my dog sleeps in the living room or the sofa. Yours can do the same, I advice you bring their own bed so they have something familiar.

About: I’ve been a dog lover for as long as I can remember and was lucky to spend 10 wonderful years with my golden retriever, who showed me how special a deep, trusting bond with a dog can be. I trained him in all the basics like sit, stay, wait, and leave it, and he will always hold a big place in my heart. These days, my home is shared with a playful 10-month-old bichon-poodle mix who keeps life joyful and has the sweetest bond with me as her main caregiver. I’m also a foster mom for a rescue group here in Calgary, where I open my home and heart to dogs who may need a little extra patience, reassurance, and gentle care as they settle into a safe, loving environment. When your pup is with me, I focus on following their routine and helping them feel right at home—whether that means slow, relaxed mornings, quiet cuddle time, playful moments, or simply giving them space to be themselves. I truly treat every dog like family and care for them as if they were my own. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care, and I would be honoured to give you peace of mind while giving your pup a warm, happy, and comforting experience. I’m not working at the moment, which means my schedule is very flexible. Feel free to reach out anytime—I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs and your pup’s routine. I know it can feel overwhelming for a pup to meet someone new or adjust to a different environment. That’s why I take the time to read their body language and pay attention to their unique cues, so I can better understand how they’re feeling. By approaching them with patience, empathy, and respect, I help create a safe space where they can relax and build trust at their own pace.

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats of all kinds ever since I was a child. I have always had a passion for animals and have never lived in a home without them. Friends, families, neighbours, and colleagues have relied on me to walk, feed, bathe, and brush their furry loved ones. I have two dogs (Buddo and Eevee) who are trained off leash and on leash; they are incredibly friendly and love to play with other dogs. I am a teacher with full-time availability for doggy day care, walks, or checking in on your furry loved ones in the summer! Once the school year starts up, I am only available on weekends. When caring at my own home: I have two friendly dogs of my own, with a very large backyard for play time. The yard is split into two separately fenced areas, which allows for some quiet time from my own dogs if necessary. When caring in your home: I am comfortable crating your furry friend, administering medication, and following special feeding instructions if necessary. I send regular photo updates, along with feeding/water updates to ensure you know that your loved ones are safe and cared for.

There are 561 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Carstairs. About 87% of Carstairs sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Carstairs commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
