“Lynda has a warm and welcoming home and a caring personality. She’s a natural dog person with a kind soul and my dog immediately felt comfortable with her - amazing! I was so nervous as a first time dog daycare user with an older dog but Lynda made the experience feel like she was family and my dog was visiting a loving home.”

About: I’m a very fit and active 60-year-old gentleman who loves going out for long walks and would love the company of your pet to join me. My husband and I live in a condo and travel often so owning our own dog is almost impossible. We do have two grand puppies who we love spending time with and having stay with us whenever their parents are away.. I retired three years ago from my full-time job and now work casually two or three nights a week. My daytime and weekends are completely free to look after your animals. I am completely mobile and able to stay in your home to look after your pets if you need to be away on vacation. Also able to do some light housekeeping (extra fee) for you while I am in your home. Both my husband and I are complete neat freaks, and your home will be well respected and taken care of while I am there. I do genuinely love animals I would love to have some of our own if we could accommodate them in our condo. We are avid travelers, so the idea of having a dog doesn’t really work out for us. But I am drawn to dogs and I feel they love being around me as well. I’d offer a ton of love and am able to look after both sedentary and highly active pets.
“Mariel & Bram took wonderful care of our puppy while we were out skiing! They were so kind and caring, and we loved all the updates and photos throughout the day. It gave us great peace of mind. And their dog Pepe is very cute! We would absolutely recommend them.”

About: I have years of experience fostering dogs and cats, as well as extensive small animal care experience, particularly with rabbits. I've trained and socialized puppies and dogs to prepare them for adoption, and I’m very comfortable giving medications to senior pets or those with health conditions. We have a senior dog in our home (Mira) who is gentle, low-energy, and spoiled in the best way. Every pet deserves kindness, patience, and loving care, and I treat each furry guest as if they were my own. I also enjoy taking portraits of your gorgeous babies, so you can expect to receive a few when your furry family member stays with me! I work from home and my shifts typically start in the early morning and run until early afternoon. I can take a break every 2 hours to meet your pet's needs, and they're welcome to hang out as I work or even snooze in my lap. We have a fenced yard, a gentle senior dog for companionship, and I am happy to follow owner guidance in terms of crate training, walks, sleeping arrangements, etc. Safety and comfort are the number one priority. Although my dog is very gentle and accommodating, reactive dogs or those with very rough play-styles would not be the best fit for us at this time.
“Our little Delilah had so much fun at Phoebe‘s! Phoebe kept me in the loop throughout the day with videos and photos. Delilah came home happy and all played out. I will be reaching out to Phoebe again for puppy care.”

“Our dog had an amazing time with Kimberly! She has a wonderful setup with outdoor space for the dogs and you can tell she truly loves animals. I especially appreciated her flexibility and professionalism.”

“We are so fortunate to have DJ and Yvonne watching over our little Meatloaf. He really loves them! They are trustworthy and kind, and we would recommend more stars if we could. Thank you, DJ and Yvonne, for being so wonderful!”

“I made a last minute appointment for doggy day care with Maria, just the night before. She responded very fast and was able to accommodate Miso. I dropped Miso off at 9:30am with his meals for the day, a toy, his harness, leash, and some treats from home. The instructions to her place were very easy and accessible. I gave her a brief run over of Miso’s personality, my feeding routine with him, and how to keep him entertained when I made the booking. As soon as I left, she sent me pictures of him playing with dog toys she already had. Maria has her own pup who played well with Miso, so that was a big bonus since Miso is a social dog. Maria is located in a beautiful location with incredible proximity to lucrative and large parks with diverse sights including the river, groups of people and other dogs, and natural vegetation. If you are hoping to have your dog get out more and experience different smells, sights, and sounds, Maria is the ideal person to have your pup stay with. She took Miso and her dog outside three times throughout the day, and their pictures together showed that Miso had a great time. I picked him up at the end of the day, 9:30pm. I knew he had a really fun and fulfilling day trip because he was quiet the entire car ride home. All in all, it was a pleasure boarding Miso with Maria - she was very easy to communicate with, and I felt at ease while I was busy the entire day because I knew he was well-taken care of and entertained. Miso will be returning when the time comes. 😊”

“Mateo had a great day with Courtney! He came home happy, relaxed, and pleasantly tired after daycare. It was clear he was well cared for and had lots of fun. I would definitely book with Courtney again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable dog sitter 🐕”

“We booked Lindsay last minute because we needed someone to watch our pup, Theo for a day. She was super responsive, accommodating and took good care of Theo. We picked up a happy dog at the end of the day.”

About: Few things bring me more joy than spending time with animals. I’ve grown up surrounded by pets; dogs, cats, and even a goat once! Over the years, I’ve shared my life with some amazing companions, including my sweet Havana, a "pugalier", and Cody, our rescued German Shepherd. Both have passed from old age, and I miss them both dearly. Because I work from home and am around 95% of the time, I’m always available to give attention and care. I love spoiling dogs with affection, playtime, and walks, which never feel like a chore since we both get to enjoy the fresh air and exercise together, I get my steps in too! Because I work from home and am around 95% of the time, I’m always available to give attention and care. My schedule is flexible allowing me to insert walks and play at times that suits your pet. I have a large one bedroom apartment, with a very large living area, vinyl flooring so accidents are a non-issue, a large balcony and green spaces near by for on leash walking.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Calgary
We had an excellent experience! She took such great care of our dog, Baxter, while we were away for the day. It was clear he was well looked after, and we really appreciated that she took him on a long walk to make sure he got plenty of exercise and attention. Baxter came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. Communication was great throughout the day, and it gave us real peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter!

Courtney is AMAZING!! She took such great care of my dog for the day. He usually gets overstimulated in new environments and often refuses to eat, but Courtney made him feel safe and comfortable right away—he actually finished ALL his meals, which really surprised me! She also took him out for a couple of walks (which he loved!) and kept me updated throughout the day. Courtney is super friendly, easy to communicate with, and truly a gem. I’d trust her with my dog anytime!!

Couldn’t ask for a better dogsitter than Jeongah! She was very attentive and cared for our dog, Milo. He dog was so happy and relaxed upon return. We loved the photo updates and quick communication! Highly recommend! Will definitely be bringing Milo back for daycare& boarding

Almendra has been taking such great care of Echo, and I couldn’t be happier. She is kind, patient, and truly cares about the dogs. Echo comes home happy and well cared for, which gives me so much peace of mind. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring dog boarding/daycare!

Hongxiang is excellent with Watson. We are very comfortable when he is in her care. She sends the most adorable pictures during his stay. Hongxiang is very flexible and accessible whenever we have needed her and made last minute changes. This service has been a blessing to our family since moving here!

We were so lucky to find such a wonderful day home for our Loafers while our regular sitters are away. Loafers is a rescue dog and can be a little quirky and vocal with strangers, so finding the right sitter is especially important to us. We felt completely comfortable leaving Loafers in Daria and Alex's care. They took him for walks, played with him kept him safe. We give 5 out of 5 for thier friendliness, kindness and trustworthiness. We would recommend them to anyone looking for caring and reliable pet sitters

Zhanna was amazing! Our 2 mini dachshunds loved her from the second they saw her. They ran to her and ran inside and didn’t even look back to say goodbye. She provided me with updates, was very accommodating with a last minute drop off and we will definitely use her services again!

Pamela took such good care of Atticus for doggy day care!! She is very flexible with my obscure and long shift work hours, gave him lots of play time and sent me updates throughout the day. She is across from a lovely dog park which is amazing. Will definitely be bringing my pup back to hang out with her lots :)

Lynda was wonderful! She took great care of my dog during daycare at her home. We did a meet & greet beforehand, which made me feel comfortable, and she was so friendly and welcoming. Her dog is very sweet and got along great with my dog. Throughout the day, Lynda kept me updated with pictures, which gave me peace of mind knowing my dog was happy and having fun. I highly recommend Lynda for dog daycare and will definitely book with her again!

Inna was an absolute lifesaver! We booked her only 1.5 hours before our trip after making a last-minute decision to visit the Calgary Zoo, where pets aren’t allowed. I was actually prepared to stay behind with my dog, but my family encouraged me to try finding a sitter—and I’m so glad we found her! She took amazing care of my dog and kept me updated throughout the day with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. The best surprise was that her dog and mine became instant besties and had such a great time together. To top it all off, I was about 30 minutes late for pickup, and she was incredibly understanding and never made me feel guilty about it. Her kindness, flexibility, and love for dogs really stood out. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Calgary commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
