“Diana was lovely! I felt very at ease leaving Maxine. I appreciated getting updates and pictures knowing that my girl was taken care of. We will absolutely be using Diana again!”

“Jeongah and her partner were very responsive, kind, and caring. Peach and Mango had a wonderful time with them. They took the dogs on walks and kept me updated. I especially appreciated Jeongah's prompt communication as Mango can be quite a handful and isn't always easy to manage when meeting new people. Her quick responses gave me peace of mind. I truly appreciate her and her partner’s help and would happily recommend them to others!”

“Lynda has a warm and welcoming home and a caring personality. She’s a natural dog person with a kind soul and my dog immediately felt comfortable with her - amazing! I was so nervous as a first time dog daycare user with an older dog but Lynda made the experience feel like she was family and my dog was visiting a loving home.”

About: I’m a very fit and active 60-year-old gentleman who loves going out for long walks and would love the company of your pet to join me. My husband and I live in a condo and travel often so owning our own dog is almost impossible. We do have two grand puppies who we love spending time with and having stay with us whenever their parents are away.. I retired three years ago from my full-time job and now work casually two or three nights a week. My daytime and weekends are completely free to look after your animals. I am completely mobile and able to stay in your home to look after your pets if you need to be away on vacation. Also able to do some light housekeeping (extra fee) for you while I am in your home. Both my husband and I are complete neat freaks, and your home will be well respected and taken care of while I am there. I do genuinely love animals I would love to have some of our own if we could accommodate them in our condo. We are avid travelers, so the idea of having a dog doesn’t really work out for us. But I am drawn to dogs and I feel they love being around me as well. I’d offer a ton of love and am able to look after both sedentary and highly active pets.
“Mariel & Bram took wonderful care of our puppy while we were out skiing! They were so kind and caring, and we loved all the updates and photos throughout the day. It gave us great peace of mind. And their dog Pepe is very cute! We would absolutely recommend them.”

“Natasha was amazing! She was very accommodating and sent updates throughout Bean's time with her and from the photos, he seemed like he had a wonderful time! We would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to reach out to her again! Thank you, Natasha!”

“Most wonderful couple ever on rover !!! They took such great care of Chips, even though we had specific instructions they were very accommodating! Chips loved them so much that we said their name and he recognized them hehehe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Nataliia took amazing care of my dog Wiwi, she’s normally very picky with people but she loved Nataliia! She sent me a lot of updates, photos and videos which made me felt really secure and Wiwi was very calm and happy when I picked her up. Thank you Nataliia and I recommend her so much❤️”

“Meatloaf loves DJ and Yvonne, they are fantastic pet sitters. Our furry friend feels at ease with them and eagerly goes to their place every morning. We will miss them for the month. We wish we had a little more time for planning, but we totally understand that travel plans have to happen. We highly recommend the care and attention they have shown. Thank you both for keeping our minds at ease.”

“I needed daycare services last minute and Maria pulled through exceptionally! She provided the absolute best care for my dog. Everything was seamless and great communication made everything so easy. I would 100% choose to see Maria again for pet care. 10/10”

“Rhino had a great time at Hongxiang’s place! Both pictures and videos are provided during the day. I would love to have Hongxiang take care of Rhino next time we visit Calgary :)”

“Amazing service and very accommodating. Karma is very well taken care of and always super tired when I pick her up which is a huge bonus! Also amazing photos! Definitely worth the tip!”

“Dominika was awesome. Obviously a dog lover with lots of experience handling all kinds of dogs. She sent us lots of photos and checked in to let us know how he was doing. He was in a great mood but a tired guy when we picked him up! Will definitely request Dominika’s services next time we are in Calgary.”

“We have just recently moved from Ireland to Calgary and have never left our dog with anyone other than family. As you can imagine we were extremely nervous, our dog also suffers with separation anxiety too which doesn’t help. When we met up with Lisa for the meet and greet she made us feel so comfortable about leaving Luna with her. She really seems to know what she’s doing and you can tell she really loves her job. She also knows everything about all the dogs she minds and makes sure you know what dogs are going to be there on the day she takes your dog. This alone just gave me comfort knowing that she wanted us to be comfortable with what dogs we were leaving Luna with. All of which were so friendly by the way , I just mean she told us about their size and things like that. So we decided to leave Luna with her for 6 hours which I was still really nervous about as I didn’t know how she’d react to new people and she had never been in the situation before. She turned out to be fine , barked for a few minutes after we left which Lisa said was normal and then she stopped. This was a huge relief for us as we wanted to find someone who can mind Luna regularly. Even when we went to pick Luna up she seemed really happy and was fine with all the other dogs too. We just feel so happy now to be able to trust someone with Luna and know that she won’t be anxious the whole time. I already can’t recommend Lisa enough, thank you so much Lisa.”

“Nadine was amazing!! She walked my puppy quite a bit, kept her busy. She gave me updates throughout the day and made me feel safe to leave my furr baby with her. My dog absolutely loved hanging out with Nadine and had fun playing with Pinky! 10/10, would definitely come back to use Nadine's services!”

“I can't thank Sara enough for the wonderful care she provided for Evelia today. Evelia had an amazing time—she enjoyed the warm weather, spent plenty of time in the backyard, and had a blast playing in the pool. Sara's dog Frodo was a great companion, sharing everything, including Sara's affection. Sara was incredibly nice, sent fantastic updates, and was just lovely overall. I will definitely be bringing Evelia back to her home in the future. Thank you, Sara!”

Mateo had a great day with Courtney! He came home happy, relaxed, and pleasantly tired after daycare. It was clear he was well cared for and had lots of fun. I would definitely book with Courtney again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable dog sitter 🐕

Dominika was wonderful with Nugget! He was happy to approach her right away and didn't seem anxious at all, which gave me a lot of confidence leaving him in her care. Throughout the day, she sent photo updates and a video, which really helped put my mind at ease while I was working. Thank you so much for taking Nugget on such short notice. When I picked him up, he had a positive interaction with another dog, and since coming home I've noticed that he seems more confident. It's clear he had a great experience. Overall, I would definitely book with Dominika again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!

Victoria was wonderful with my little Winston. It was his first time in daycare & he was in the best care with Victoria. Winston played puzzle games with lots of cuddles and fun outdoor time. As well, Winston enjoyed meeting his new pint sized buddy Rambo. Victoria sent regular updates with the cutest, happy Winston pictures. Thanks for your kind, loving care with Winston. 100% recommend Victoria for top notch pup care! 🐾💖

This is our first time putting our dog into daycare, of course we’re worried. But Rey made it easy for us and the dogs. He’s really good with them and made them feel that they part of their pack. Thank you Rey and definitely will be recommending him to friends and family if we’re back in Calgary.

I was super excited to leave my baby dog with Nataliia! When I met her, I already felt sure that my dog would be safe and well taken care of 🥹 While my doggy was staying at her place, I received plenty of pictures and videos of him playing with his toys and looking happy! That made me feel relaxed and calm. Before our booking, she also asked for instructions on how to properly take care of him, so I knew she would follow my instructions and make sure Nox felt safe and comfortable! 🥰🥰🥹

Mateo loves going to Cosmo. She has an amazing dog and they get along well. When I bring him for his day care, he is happy when he sees his pet sitter and not scared at all (with other sitters he has separation anxiety). So, I do recommend Cosmo to every pet owner. Thank you 😊

Simba had a blast! We moved here recently and was hoping to find some buddies he can socialize with and thankfully we found Adam, Gordon and Harvey. Adam was punctual, communicative, and reassuring. Multiple beautiful photos, I think Simba made himself right at home. Thank you tons, and we will for sure book again when needed with this family.

Audrey and her family are the best! I had them take care of my 14 year old dog for daycare for 4 months and a few over night stays. They were always available when I needed them and able to accommodate when my schedule changed here and there! Unfortunately I am moving away from the city and will no longer be able to use their care. Me and Nia will miss them so much! They truly are great and amazing! Her and her family gave Nia a lot of attention and love! They would take her on walks throughout the day and I would get regular updates from them! There was always someone home to take care of Nia. Nia was extremely excited each day and when I would say “Audrey’s House” she would perk up and run to the door. We will miss them so much! There was no worry for me, knowing Nia was getting great care, from a great family, at a great home!

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Calgary commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
