“Jeongah and their partner were very attentive to our puppy and sent us pictures throughout the day to keep us updated which we really appreciated. I’m glad they were able to accommodate Pablo on a very last minute booking. Thank you!”

“As pet owners, we always nervous leaving our pets with someone we met for the first time. It was our first time having Lynda as Love's babysitter and we couldn't be more happier. If I could give her a 10 star , we would! We will definitely come back to her next year during the Stampede. Lynda was so amazing and flexible with our schedule, and she took great care of our baby girl, making sure she's comfortable and that she feels like home. Her 2 adorable dogs got along with Love the whole time which I'm SO happy about! Love went on many walks and its a bonus that the dog park is near by. I love that Lynda keeps us in the loop with wonderful photos, which I knew Love was having so much fun when she's playing or just chilling. Thank you Lynda for being a wonderful dogsitter to our Love bug. You will be the first to hear from us if we need a sitter for Love when we're in Calgary next!”

“Diana was lovely! I felt very at ease leaving Maxine. I appreciated getting updates and pictures knowing that my girl was taken care of. We will absolutely be using Diana again!”

“It was my first time leaving my dog with a sitter. Veronica made me feel comfortable with leaving my dog with her. She sent me updates both pics and vids many times. They went for walkies many times. Very good communication as well. Her dog is a very chill and sweet dog too! Thank you for taking good care of my baby!”

About: I’m a very fit and active 60-year-old gentleman who loves going out for long walks and would love the company of your pet to join me. My husband and I live in a condo and travel often so owning our own dog is almost impossible. We do have two grand puppies who we love spending time with and having stay with us whenever their parents are away.. I retired three years ago from my full-time job and now work casually two or three nights a week. My daytime and weekends are completely free to look after your animals. I am completely mobile and able to stay in your home to look after your pets if you need to be away on vacation. Also able to do some light housekeeping (extra fee) for you while I am in your home. Both my husband and I are complete neat freaks, and your home will be well respected and taken care of while I am there. I do genuinely love animals I would love to have some of our own if we could accommodate them in our condo. We are avid travelers, so the idea of having a dog doesn’t really work out for us. But I am drawn to dogs and I feel they love being around me as well. I’d offer a ton of love and am able to look after both sedentary and highly active pets.
About: 🌷 Experienced, Nurturing Pet Care Hi! I’m Sascha- an experienced caregiver with years of hands-on experience fostering dogs and cats, as well as caring for small animals. I’ve looked after pets with a wide range of personalities and needs, as well as trained and socialized puppies and dogs to prepare them for adoption. I’m very comfortable giving medications and providing care for senior pets or those who need a little extra attention. 🌿 A Calm, Adult-Only Environment Your pet will be cared for in a comfortable home environment with plenty of patience, attention, and companionship. We have a senior dog, Mira, who is gentle, low-energy, and spoiled in the best way. She is used to having other animals around and helps make our home a relaxed place for our furry guests. We offer slow-paced intros through a baby gate to make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and has enough time to adjust to each other's presence. I welcome: - Puppies and adult dogs - Senior dogs - Shy or anxious dogs who need a little more time to adjust - Cats and small animals 💕 Personalized Care I understand that all pets have different routines, personalities, and needs, and I do my best to make their time away from home as easy and stress-free as possible. You can expect: - One client at a time, focused, engaging care 🐾 - Lots of updates in your inbox 💌 - Care tailored to your pet’s individual needs 🐶 - Portraits of your gorgeous babies (see my gallery!) 📸 ✨ I look forward to getting to know your four-legged family members! Virtual and in-person meet & greets are available to help everyone feel confident and secure before their stay. I work from home and my shifts typically start in the early morning and run until early afternoon. I can take a break every 2 hours to meet your pet's needs, and they're welcome to hang out as I work or even snooze in my lap. We have a fenced yard, a gentle senior dog for companionship, and I am happy to follow owner guidance in terms of crate training, walks, sleeping arrangements, etc. Safety and comfort are the number one priority. Although my dog is very gentle and accommodating, reactive dogs or those with very rough play-styles would not be the best fit for us at this time.
“Amazing service and very accommodating. Karma is very well taken care of and always super tired when I pick her up which is a huge bonus! Also amazing photos! Definitely worth the tip!”

About: Hi! My name is Kennedy 🐾 I recently moved to Calgary from Ontario. I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years for my family and friends. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperament. I’m comfortable with everything from walks, feeding, baths, to administering medication, including allergy medication and eye drops. Growing up my family had two dogs. One was adopted from an animal shelter when he was around 7 months and is naturally shy and reactive around other dogs, people, and loud noises. He’s also now a senior dog and partially blind. The other dog is the complete opposite, strong and full of energy. Two dogs with very different personalities, needs, and comfort levels. Before moving to Calgary, I worked as a nurse in Ontario so I understand the importance of responsibility, safety, and reliability. Especially when you’re trusting someone with a member of your family. Looking forward to meeting you and your fluffy friend! 🐶🐾 I have open availability and can be flexible to meet you and your dog’s needs. I am available for boarding on week days and weekends. I live in an apartment close to several parks including Prince’s Island Park. I also know of several quiet places if your dog needs a quiet and less stimulating environment. I can take care of two dogs from the same household at once and will ensure no other pets from other households are in the apartment. This way I can ensure your pet gets the love and attention it needs.
“I needed daycare services last minute and Maria pulled through exceptionally! She provided the absolute best care for my dog. Everything was seamless and great communication made everything so easy. I would 100% choose to see Maria again for pet care. 10/10”

“Thank you Nadine for having Snoopy. He looked so happy and excited when I went to pick him. I was a bit worried as Snoopy can sometimes have separation anxiety but Nadine kept me posted and shared lots of pics and videos. She let him sit on her lap and snuggle and took him for multiple walks which my baby loves . Thanks again.”

Jeongah and Hun took great care of my little girl. They gave alot of updates about how my pup is doing. Looked like my dog had fun at their place! I left some notes and they made sure to take note of everything and follow them carefully. Very attentive, reliable and I felt comfortable knowing my dog was well looked after. Definitely highly recommend them to take care of your pet! ☺️

We had an excellent experience! She took such great care of our dog, Baxter, while we were away for the day. It was clear he was well looked after, and we really appreciated that she took him on a long walk to make sure he got plenty of exercise and attention. Baxter came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. Communication was great throughout the day, and it gave us real peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter!

Courtney is AMAZING!! She took such great care of my dog for the day. He usually gets overstimulated in new environments and often refuses to eat, but Courtney made him feel safe and comfortable right away—he actually finished ALL his meals, which really surprised me! She also took him out for a couple of walks (which he loved!) and kept me updated throughout the day. Courtney is super friendly, easy to communicate with, and truly a gem. I’d trust her with my dog anytime!!

Almendra has been taking such great care of Echo, and I couldn’t be happier. She is kind, patient, and truly cares about the dogs. Echo comes home happy and well cared for, which gives me so much peace of mind. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring dog boarding/daycare!

Hongxiang is excellent with Watson. We are very comfortable when he is in her care. She sends the most adorable pictures during his stay. Hongxiang is very flexible and accessible whenever we have needed her and made last minute changes. This service has been a blessing to our family since moving here!

Zhanna was amazing! Our 2 mini dachshunds loved her from the second they saw her. They ran to her and ran inside and didn’t even look back to say goodbye. She provided me with updates, was very accommodating with a last minute drop off and we will definitely use her services again!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Calgary commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
