“Tiana was amazing! She took care of our cat during our trip home to PEI for over 2 weeks. Having her watch over and ask questions when she wasn't sure about something gave me peace of mind knowing my cat was taken care of and getting the much needed attention she missed while we were gone.”

“Gillian is the best! Our cat Juney loves cuddling up to her and sits on her lap for her whole visit (after breakfast, of course!) Gillian is very attentive and compassionate to Juney's needs and is very communicative with us while we're away. Highly recommend!”

“She was wonderful with our 2 cats. We needed a sitter for 2 visits a day for 2 weeks and she kept us up to date on their adventures together every visit with a graphic description of each little thing that they were doing. The cats looked really healthy and happy when we came home and in every picture. She even went above and beyond and helped us by sending us a picture of some printed information that we forgot to bring with us.”

“I made a last minute booking with Kateryna for drop-in visits with my shy cat and everything went great. The little guy warmed up to her immediately and Kateryna took great care of him, kept me updated, and made sure everything was handled smoothly while I was away. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for kitty and felt completely at ease the whole time. I would absolutely rebook and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter.”

“Olivia dropped in on our cats while we were camping. Her communication before and during the stays was great! She sent me some pictures and made me feel at ease knowing someone was watching them 😊 I would highly recommend Olivia to anyone looking for someone to care for their fur babies. Thanks Olivia!”

“Cassandra was so great and allowed me to relax and enjoy my time away while I knew my pet was being taken care of. All of the photo’s she sent were much appreciated, I 100% plan on rebooking with her in the future!”

About: I grew up with both cats and dogs and was trusted to take care of them when needed. I currently volunteer at a rescue where dogs and cats of all ages are looked after. I fulfilled my training in dog behaviour and sanitization protocols. I work full time but have the flexibility to work remote if owners are in need of a sitter during the week day and of course the weekend! I’ve handled dogs and all ages, with varying anxiety levels. Your furry friend will be safe in my care and we will have lots of enrichment activities!
“We left our 2 cats under the care of Tamara for 2 full weeks. She did an amazing job. One of our cats is a bit moody and temperamental yet she was able to safely care for them and provide them not only the basic necessities but also attention each day in the form of snacks, toys & play. Through the daily report cards I could tell that our cats were gaining trust and comfortability in her which gave me so much piece of mind during my vacation. I would highly recommend Tamara to those looking for a sitter - she is quick to respond and went above and beyond our expectations for our cats. Thanks a ton Tamara!”

“Jennah was amazing! She went above and beyond each and every day with Ollie. She took plenty of pictures and even videos. She took Ollie for runs every day and he looked like he had a great time. Will definitely be using Jennah in the future.”
“Bri is truly the best. She takes such good care of my puppy! She keeps me updated throughout the day and is very detailed and expressive with her notes. She sends plenty of amazing pictures as she works one on one with my puppy. From training to providing amazing advice; she’s great! She answers back quickly and she is so accommodating and flexible with drop off and pick up times. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“These two were so kind and generous, took the time to meet with our pups and were so patient with our excitable puppy. They were diligent about double checking care details and we just so appreciated their willingness to help. Our cat unexpectedly got aggressive with them and we felt so awful but they still provided regular updates and showed kindness. You and your pets will love these two.”

About: I have had large and small dogs in my life. Centrally located with a few parks by my house. I have experience with different harness, coats, putting boots and socks on. Happy to do it all so your dog is comfortable. I’ve moving from another province, and therefore have all the time to make this my number one priority. I do not have another employment at the moment. I do one to two hours of exercise in the morning- my late afternoons to evenings are free to provide help! When I drop by your home I would first ensure all the basic needs are met for your dog, whether you’d prefer if I just stop in for a quick moment while you’re at work, or if you’d like me ensure they get groomed. I will respect all boundaries put into place from the pet owner and never overstep. At the moment I am not offering boarding services.
“Conner is a cat whisperer! My boys can be a little shy but a few days into my trip, they had completely warmed up to him. Conner provides way more than just basic pet care: he provides love ❤️”

“Daryna responded quickly to our last minute request and was very helpful. She asked questions and followed our instructions, and provided notes about how things went with Otis. She was great and we would love to have her check in with Otis again.”

“Rebecca did a wonderful job overlooking our kitty Mew Mew and our home. She is very caring and thoughtful throughout the whole experience and is very easy to instruct and work with. Thank you so much for keeping him well entertained and loved while we were gone for over 2 weeks.”

About: Growing up, I've always been surrounded by pets. My mom used to plonk me and Candy, my adorable French Poodle, into the same playpen. Candy wasn't just a pet; she was like my first best buddy. Then came Kina, our sweet Golden Retriever. Even at 10 years old, I took on the job of looking after her – walks, baths, food, the works. When she got older and needed surgeries, I was there for her, giving meds, cleaning wounds, and just showering her with love till the end. After Kina, Waffle came along. She was just a month old when I got her, which made socializing a bit tricky. But Waffle's been a real eye-opener. Through all the training sessions, I've learned that the key to a happy pup is consistency, patience, and loads of love. From Candy to Kina to Waffle, each furry friend has taught me heaps about compassion, responsibility, and being a rock-solid caregiver. They've been my teachers in life's best lessons, and I'm forever grateful for that. Now, alongside Waffle, I've got Mylo, this adorable and playful Westie who hit it off with Waffle right away. It's like having double the fun! And sometimes, I get the chance to look after my best friend's dog, Nala. Let me tell you, having three dogs around me makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world. It's a whole pack of love and joy, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Every time I take care of a pet, my heart just swells with love for them. It's like the more I give, the more I have to give. So, right now, I'd love to extend that care to your furry ones too. I assure you, their well-being would be my top priority. There's nothing I wouldn't do to make sure they're happy, healthy, and feeling loved. With my remote job, I have the flexibility to control my own schedule, which means I can easily make time to play, go for walks, and shower love on my furry friends. All I need to do is grab my computer, and I'm good to go, whether it's at home or on the move. I always prioritize a calm, positive, and safe experience for every dog in my care. When possible, I like to meet dogs outside first so they can interact in a neutral environment with my own dog. We start with a short 5–10 minute walk together, which helps the dogs get comfortable, recognize each other as part of the same group, and build trust in a relaxed way. Once at home, I closely supervise the dogs while allowing them freedom to move around the house so they feel comfortable and at ease. I pay close attention to their body language, energy levels, and needs, making sure they feel safe, secure, and cared for at all times.

We would highly recommend Jiayu! She is a kind, gentle person and seems to have a good rapport with cats, our cat loved her. =^.^= This was our first time leaving our senior baby for two nights. She provided her with great care while we were gone. Jiayu provided excellent updates and many great photographs via the Rover platform, which helped relieve our anxiety. She kept our place so clean and tidy, which was really appreciated.

Thanks so much Josie! You have a great way with cats! Our very shy one who hides came out to say hi :) Your communication was so quick and excellent. I highly recommend Josie to care for your pets - she is super reliable, very experienced and you can tell she loves animals!

Erika was amazing with Raj while I was away! She made sure he was fed, spent time hanging out with him every visit, and always sent me pictures, which I really appreciated. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was getting love and attention. It’s very obvious she’s been doing this for a long time. She’s kind, professional, reliable, and you can genuinely tell she loves animals. I’ll 100% be booking Erika again for both Raj and my Golden Retriever, Pixie, in the future. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for an awesome pet sitter!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Calgary stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Calgary choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
