“Amber was so patient and attentive to Freya while we were gone for the day. She sent us pictures and updates that put my mind at ease. She is a true dog lover and trustworthy. I highly recommend her for any walks or sitting you need!”

About: As a university student and lifelong animal lover, I provide dependable, compassionate care for pets of all kinds. I regularly volunteer at local animal shelters, where I work with animals of different ages, temperaments, and care needs. Growing up with special needs animals has given me extensive experience caring for pets that require extra patience, attention, and individualized support. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, senior, or has unique medical or behavioral needs, I’m committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. As a university student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to fit pet care into my daily and weekly routine. Between classes, I regularly volunteer at local animal shelters and make time for walks, playtime, feeding, and check-ins. Caring for animals is already a natural part of my week, and I’m committed to making sure each pet gets the attention, patience, and love they deserve. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s individual needs, including feeding schedules, exercise requirements, medications, and any behavioral or medical considerations. I carefully follow all instructions provided by owners to ensure their pets experience as little disruption to their routine as possible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat both the home and the animals with the utmost respect. I keep the environment clean and secure, double-check that doors, gates, and leashes are properly fastened, and never leave pets unattended in unsafe situations. I also provide regular updates with photos and messages, so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away. With my experience volunteering at local animal shelters and caring for animals with special needs throughout my life, I’m comfortable recognizing changes in behavior and responding calmly and responsibly. My goal is to provide a safe, stress-free experience where both you and your pet can feel completely at ease.
About: I had dogs my whole life growing up in Winnipeg and am still surrounded by them anytime I visit as most of my family members own at least one. When I moved out to Calgary, I didn’t realize how much I was going to miss having that pet energy around me :) I have experience with numerous different breeds, both puppies and older doggos. I have no fear of those big guys who think they’re lap dogs or love to jump up and lick your face. My family used to own multiple boarder collies so I know how to care for dogs with lots of energy. That being said, I have a special place in my heart for those older guys who just need some chill outside time/ a little bit of exercise 😊 I understand the importance of a routine when it comes to caring for a pet, especially with puppies. If you are in the process of training and would like me to apply anything while your dog is in my care, please let me know as it is an area I’m interested in and will happily take the practice! My last roommate had 2 very sweet and very needy cats, one of whom had asthma and needed a little extra care, so I also have a couple of years of experience taking care of cats and administering medication. There’s lots I could write here as someone who has been around and cared for pets for my entire life, so if there’s anything specific you’d like to know about, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns! It’s important that you feel confident about leaving your pet in my care, so any reassurance you need in order to get there, I’m happy to give that! My day-to-day is very flexible! I’m working part time as an house manager/ personal assistant and most of my job duties can be done anytime throughout the week. My routine is very easy to move around to prioritize pet care. I like to get out and go for walks already in order to avoid too much inside time. While pet sitting, I’ll make sure to know where the nearest emergency vet is (knock on wood). If your pet needs to be given medication while in my care, I’ll set a reminder on my phone. If they’re coming to my place, my apartment is pet friendly already, but I’m happy to take extra precautions if you have a pet that loves to try to get into the cupboards 😆 You’ll always receive plenty of pics and as detailed/ frequent of an update as you’d like. As mentioned in my profile, I understand the importance of consistency, so I’ll make sure to continue established routines or training if needed. If there’s anything else I can do to put your mind at ease, please feel free to let me know!
“Tiana has been absolutely wonderful with both of my pets. She always a completes progress cards at the end of each visit with the cutest pictures. She is a great communicator and very responsible.”

“Gillian is so dependable and takes great care of my kitty. I trust her completely! She also administers medicine which is awesome as not everyone is comfortable doing that.”

“Kaela is now our go-to sitter when we're out of town. We have booked her probably 3 or 4 times now, and every time she has been very responsive and communicative. We have the utmost trust that our little guy is in good hands with Kaela. The visit summaries that she writes are always enjoyable to read, and we love seeing the photos that she takes of our cat. I would highly recommend Kaela.”

“I cannot recommend Johanna anymore! I am a bit of a protective/paranoid pet parent and she gives very detailed and humorous reviews which I appreciate. It was my first time leaving my young cat for multiple days, and she eased all my anxiety. You can tell she deeply cares about animals and knows all the fun games for them. My cat Mango loved her so much too! She is very kind and detail oriented”

“Cassandra was so great and allowed me to relax and enjoy my time away while I knew my pet was being taken care of. All of the photo’s she sent were much appreciated, I 100% plan on rebooking with her in the future!”

“Olivia dropped in on our cats while we were camping. Her communication before and during the stays was great! She sent me some pictures and made me feel at ease knowing someone was watching them 😊 I would highly recommend Olivia to anyone looking for someone to care for their fur babies. Thanks Olivia!”

“Daryna is absolutely fantastic! She recently looked after my two cats and my birds, and I couldn't be happier with the care she provided. It can be tricky to find someone comfortable handling both feline and avian needs, but Daryna handled it all with ease. She was extremely communicative, sending regular updates that gave me total peace of mind while I was away. I returned home to very happy, well-cared-for pets.”

“Sydney has been fantastic with our little 12 week old pup! She sends thorough updates and photos, and always is thorough in her visits - re-filling Kong toys, topping up water, cleaning up messes and lots of play time with the pup. We will definitely keep using Sydney for drop-in visits.”

“Bri was a stupendous sitter for our cat Finn. You could tell she really cared about taking care of him. Her reports were filled with detail and many great photos that gave us the peace of mind that he was being well taken care of with concern and care for his well being.”

“Rebecca did a wonderful job overlooking our kitty Mew Mew and our home. She is very caring and thoughtful throughout the whole experience and is very easy to instruct and work with. Thank you so much for keeping him well entertained and loved while we were gone for over 2 weeks.”

“Tamara was incredible with our two cats. She went above and beyond, bringing her own cat toys to play with our pets. She provided lots of pictures from her drop in and had great attention to detail with our requests!”

About: I have had large and small dogs in my life. Centrally located with a few parks by my house. I have experience with different harness, coats, putting boots and socks on. Happy to do it all so your dog is comfortable. I’ve moving from another province, and therefore have all the time to make this my number one priority. I do not have another employment at the moment. I do one to two hours of exercise in the morning- my late afternoons to evenings are free to provide help! When I drop by your home I would first ensure all the basic needs are met for your dog, whether you’d prefer if I just stop in for a quick moment while you’re at work, or if you’d like me ensure they get groomed. I will respect all boundaries put into place from the pet owner and never overstep. At the moment I am not offering boarding services.
About: Growing up, I've always been surrounded by pets. My mom used to plonk me and Candy, my adorable French Poodle, into the same playpen. Candy wasn't just a pet; she was like my first best buddy. Then came Kina, our sweet Golden Retriever. Even at 10 years old, I took on the job of looking after her – walks, baths, food, the works. When she got older and needed surgeries, I was there for her, giving meds, cleaning wounds, and just showering her with love till the end. After Kina, Waffle came along. She was just a month old when I got her, which made socializing a bit tricky. But Waffle's been a real eye-opener. Through all the training sessions, I've learned that the key to a happy pup is consistency, patience, and loads of love. From Candy to Kina to Waffle, each furry friend has taught me heaps about compassion, responsibility, and being a rock-solid caregiver. They've been my teachers in life's best lessons, and I'm forever grateful for that. Now, alongside Waffle, I've got Mylo, this adorable and playful Westie who hit it off with Waffle right away. It's like having double the fun! And sometimes, I get the chance to look after my best friend's dog, Nala. Let me tell you, having three dogs around me makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world. It's a whole pack of love and joy, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Every time I take care of a pet, my heart just swells with love for them. It's like the more I give, the more I have to give. So, right now, I'd love to extend that care to your furry ones too. I assure you, their well-being would be my top priority. There's nothing I wouldn't do to make sure they're happy, healthy, and feeling loved. With my remote job, I have the flexibility to control my own schedule, which means I can easily make time to play, go for walks, and shower love on my furry friends. All I need to do is grab my computer, and I'm good to go, whether it's at home or on the move. I always prioritize a calm, positive, and safe experience for every dog in my care. When possible, I like to meet dogs outside first so they can interact in a neutral environment with my own dog. We start with a short 5–10 minute walk together, which helps the dogs get comfortable, recognize each other as part of the same group, and build trust in a relaxed way. Once at home, I closely supervise the dogs while allowing them freedom to move around the house so they feel comfortable and at ease. I pay close attention to their body language, energy levels, and needs, making sure they feel safe, secure, and cared for at all times.

Kimberly did an amazing job with our senior dog, Finn. She made the time to come meet him (and us) in advance of the booking, which we really appreciated. She is a great communicator and went above and beyond to make sure our pup was happy and taken care of while we were gone. You can tell her love for animals through everything she does. Would definitely love to have her back again!

Johanna as always has been great with Cosmo - we are thankful that she took great care of him when we were away. She also went above and beyond to take care of him, playing with him and massaging him and in keeping us updated in a thorough manner. Thank you so much, Johanna!

We were grateful that Chloe was able to take care of our 2 cats through drop in visits while we were away on vacation. This is the 2nd time we've booked Chloe and couldn't be happier with the care she provided for our cats. She sent plenty of updates and pictures and even notified us about a very important document we received from our landlord. She followed all our instructions perfectly. I would not hesitate to book Chloe again.

I had a wonderful experience with Kathleen caring for my cat! She was reliable, caring, and attentive, and I felt completely comfortable knowing my cat was in such good hands. She took the time to make sure he was happy and well cared for, and kept me updated while I was away. The photos she sent were adorable! I would absolutely recommend Kathleen to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with her again! 🐾❤️

We had a wonderful experience with Daeun! She was reliable, caring, and kept us updated while we were away. We loved receiving her photos and updates, and it gave us such peace of mind knowing our cat was in great hands. We would absolutely recommend Daeun and would happily have her sit for us again!

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Calgary choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
