About: I've cared for all kinds of pets over the years—from parrots and bunnies to countless cats, and one very special dog who lived to be 19 years old. I love quiet cuddle sessions, long walks, and keeping a clean, comfortable space, so I'll make sure your pet's emotional and physical needs are well cared for. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and my mom currently runs a cat shelter in Costa Rica, which has only deepened my love and appreciation for them. I work from home as a marketing professional, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide your pet with attention throughout the day. Outside of work, you'll usually find me going for long walks, heading out for a run, spending time with friends, or enjoying a quiet evening at home. I'm reliable, active, and genuinely love making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. I live on my own in a cozy apartment, so your pet will have my full attention. My building has 24/7 security, and we're just steps away from the Bow River pathways, making it a great location for dogs who enjoy walks. When I recently looked after a friend's cat, I made sure she had everything she needed, including a scratching post and a comfy bed. Like many cats, she quickly found her own favorite perch—on top of my fridge and cabinets! My apartment has plenty of cozy spots for cats to explore, relax, and feel at home.
“Cassandra was so great and allowed me to relax and enjoy my time away while I knew my pet was being taken care of. All of the photo’s she sent were much appreciated, I 100% plan on rebooking with her in the future!”

“Gillian checked in on my senior special needs kitty every day for five weeks, and we couldn't be happier. Gillian was completely reliable and sent photos and an update from each visit, and remembered everything he needed, giving him his subcutaneous fluids, B12 injectable vitamin, as well as treats and playtime. He had been in the hospital with a kidney infection just a few weeks earlier, so I was very nervous to leave him just with my elderly parents, but Gillian coordinated perfectly with them and kept a careful eye on him as well as keeping him cheerful. I'm so grateful that this all worked out, and to find him in the best possible shape when I returned. I definitely recommend her and very much hope that she will still be available for him next time he needs her! Thank you!”
About: I had dogs my whole life growing up in Winnipeg and am still surrounded by them anytime I visit as most of my family members own at least one. When I moved out to Calgary, I didn’t realize how much I was going to miss having that pet energy around me :) I have experience with numerous different breeds, both puppies and older doggos. I have no fear of those big guys who think they’re lap dogs or love to jump up and lick your face. My family used to own multiple boarder collies so I know how to care for dogs with lots of energy. That being said, I have a special place in my heart for those older guys who just need some chill outside time/ a little bit of exercise 😊 I understand the importance of a routine when it comes to caring for a pet, especially with puppies. If you are in the process of training and would like me to apply anything while your dog is in my care, please let me know as it is an area I’m interested in and will happily take the practice! My last roommate had 2 very sweet and very needy cats, one of whom had asthma and needed a little extra care, so I also have a couple of years of experience taking care of cats and administering medication. There’s lots I could write here as someone who has been around and cared for pets for my entire life, so if there’s anything specific you’d like to know about, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns! It’s important that you feel confident about leaving your pet in my care, so any reassurance you need in order to get there, I’m happy to give that! My day-to-day is very flexible! I’m working part time as an house manager/ personal assistant and most of my job duties can be done anytime throughout the week. My routine is very easy to move around to prioritize pet care. I like to get out and go for walks already in order to avoid too much inside time. While pet sitting, I’ll make sure to know where the nearest emergency vet is (knock on wood). If your pet needs to be given medication while in my care, I’ll set a reminder on my phone. If they’re coming to my place, my apartment is pet friendly already, but I’m happy to take extra precautions if you have a pet that loves to try to get into the cupboards 😆 You’ll always receive plenty of pics and as detailed/ frequent of an update as you’d like. As mentioned in my profile, I understand the importance of consistency, so I’ll make sure to continue established routines or training if needed. If there’s anything else I can do to put your mind at ease, please feel free to let me know!
About: As a university student and lifelong animal lover, I provide dependable, compassionate care for pets of all kinds. I regularly volunteer at local animal shelters, where I work with animals of different ages, temperaments, and care needs. Growing up with special needs animals has given me extensive experience caring for pets that require extra patience, attention, and individualized support. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, senior, or has unique medical or behavioral needs, I’m committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. As a university student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to fit pet care into my daily and weekly routine. Between classes, I regularly volunteer at local animal shelters and make time for walks, playtime, feeding, and check-ins. Caring for animals is already a natural part of my week, and I’m committed to making sure each pet gets the attention, patience, and love they deserve. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s individual needs, including feeding schedules, exercise requirements, medications, and any behavioral or medical considerations. I carefully follow all instructions provided by owners to ensure their pets experience as little disruption to their routine as possible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat both the home and the animals with the utmost respect. I keep the environment clean and secure, double-check that doors, gates, and leashes are properly fastened, and never leave pets unattended in unsafe situations. I also provide regular updates with photos and messages, so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away. With my experience volunteering at local animal shelters and caring for animals with special needs throughout my life, I’m comfortable recognizing changes in behavior and responding calmly and responsibly. My goal is to provide a safe, stress-free experience where both you and your pet can feel completely at ease.
“Amelia took great care of my fur babies while I was away for the weekend. The pictures and updates she sent made being away from them a little easier and she left my apartment exactly how I left it! She also followed very specific instructions for my three cats to a T. I will definitely hire again!”

“We left our 2 cats under the care of Tamara for 2 full weeks. She did an amazing job. One of our cats is a bit moody and temperamental yet she was able to safely care for them and provide them not only the basic necessities but also attention each day in the form of snacks, toys & play. Through the daily report cards I could tell that our cats were gaining trust and comfortability in her which gave me so much piece of mind during my vacation. I would highly recommend Tamara to those looking for a sitter - she is quick to respond and went above and beyond our expectations for our cats. Thanks a ton Tamara!”

“Kaela took such good care of my cat while I was away. She provided a lengthy update and amazing pictures of him every day that she looked after him. Definitely would recommend Kaela to look after your pets while you’re away!”

About: I have a 5-year-old Goldendoodle named Jiggs, who I’ve had the joy of raising on my own since he was just 10 weeks old! I’m passionate about the outdoors, whether it’s running or walking with him, and I absolutely love spending time with animals in any way I can! I work full time Monday to Friday with additional flexibility on Fridays. My evenings and weekends are flexible and free for your pet care needs! I live in a pet friendly condo with the ability to crate your dog if needed. My dog is friendly but I will require an introduction prior to bringing a dog into my home. I am familiar with crate trained and non crate trained dogs.
“Met Tiana today for the first time today, as have some time away booked in near future and looking for someone to stay over with my kitty while I'm gone. Tiana is lovely. Her calm demeanor and clear love of animals was very comforting. My kitty hasn't met many people and so she hid but was a little brave into visit and did have a peek! Looking forward to Tiana spending more time with my kitty so they get accustomed to each other before my trip! Thank mew Tiana 😻”

“Conner took great care of our cat Leo while we were away. He is an awesome communicator and kept us up to date with lots of picture. It was our first time using Rover and Conner made the whole process a breeze. Thanks Conner!”

“This was our first experience with Rover and I found Sydney to be very kind and caring with our 2 dogs - one 3 years old and one 12 years old. She managed our older dog’s needs and medication well and she individualized each dog’s walks which was very much needed. I loved seeing the pictures of the walks and play time. I also appreciated Sydney’s flexibility with some of our schedule changes over the holidays. Thank you Sydney!”

“Sina was wonderful, and I highly recommend him! My cat can be a little spicy, but Sina was very patient with her and followed all of her care instructions. He was reliable and responsive, and I really appreciated knowing she was in good hands!”

“Dawn took care of our cat again over the holidays and she was excellent with communication and visits. Our little Fuzz simply adores her. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.”
“Archie loved Rebecca and that’s a great deal. She was very attentive with his schedule and routine, and made sure that he was well taken care of. She spent time with him and sent pictures every day. I’ll definitely have her pet sitting him again. Thank you, Rebecca!!! 😄♥️”

About: Growing up, I've always been surrounded by pets. My mom used to plonk me and Candy, my adorable French Poodle, into the same playpen. Candy wasn't just a pet; she was like my first best buddy. Then came Kina, our sweet Golden Retriever. Even at 10 years old, I took on the job of looking after her – walks, baths, food, the works. When she got older and needed surgeries, I was there for her, giving meds, cleaning wounds, and just showering her with love till the end. After Kina, Waffle came along. She was just a month old when I got her, which made socializing a bit tricky. But Waffle's been a real eye-opener. Through all the training sessions, I've learned that the key to a happy pup is consistency, patience, and loads of love. From Candy to Kina to Waffle, each furry friend has taught me heaps about compassion, responsibility, and being a rock-solid caregiver. They've been my teachers in life's best lessons, and I'm forever grateful for that. Now, alongside Waffle, I've got Mylo, this adorable and playful Westie who hit it off with Waffle right away. It's like having double the fun! And sometimes, I get the chance to look after my best friend's dog, Nala. Let me tell you, having three dogs around me makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world. It's a whole pack of love and joy, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Every time I take care of a pet, my heart just swells with love for them. It's like the more I give, the more I have to give. So, right now, I'd love to extend that care to your furry ones too. I assure you, their well-being would be my top priority. There's nothing I wouldn't do to make sure they're happy, healthy, and feeling loved. With my remote job, I have the flexibility to control my own schedule, which means I can easily make time to play, go for walks, and shower love on my furry friends. All I need to do is grab my computer, and I'm good to go, whether it's at home or on the move. I always prioritize a calm, positive, and safe experience for every dog in my care. When possible, I like to meet dogs outside first so they can interact in a neutral environment with my own dog. We start with a short 5–10 minute walk together, which helps the dogs get comfortable, recognize each other as part of the same group, and build trust in a relaxed way. Once at home, I closely supervise the dogs while allowing them freedom to move around the house so they feel comfortable and at ease. I pay close attention to their body language, energy levels, and needs, making sure they feel safe, secure, and cared for at all times.

Cassandra agreed to help us last min and was very responsive to our messages. She's is proficient with communicating through the app too, which helped because I asked for too many visits and she changed it from her end. She came on time and seemed to be very very caring with our 3 Cats. I would definitely like to use her services again as I trust her and feel very comfortable with her coming in or house and caring for my cats.

Rebecca has been our go-to cat sitter for our 2 cats over over 2 years. She has taken care of them on many occasions and they absoltely adore her. She sends great photos showing they're having a good time and immediately brings anything to attention that we need to. We are moving out of Calgary so will need to find someone new, but really thank her for all the time she's taken care of our cats.

Ksenia was wonderful, she took great care of my cat and was reliable and attentive. I had so much peace of mind while on my trip. My cat was relaxed, healthy, and happy upon my return. I would book her again without hesitation, and highly recommend Ksenia as a cat sitter. I truly appreciate the care she showed my cat.

Miranda delivers again!! She took excellent care of our cat so we could get away for a few days. She's dependable, professional, a great communicator and has a way with animals. All the best qualities you could ask for in a pet sitter! Thanks so much, Miranda!! :-)

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Calgary choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
