“I’ve been coming to Shaena for a couple months now to look after my cat, and she’s always been the absolute best with her. She’s very attentive, takes lots of pictures, and my cat loves her. Highly recommend! :)”

“Daryna is absolutely fantastic! She recently looked after my two cats and my birds, and I couldn't be happier with the care she provided. It can be tricky to find someone comfortable handling both feline and avian needs, but Daryna handled it all with ease. She was extremely communicative, sending regular updates that gave me total peace of mind while I was away. I returned home to very happy, well-cared-for pets.”

“Gillian was a dream to work with. Before we left, she responded quickly to emails and was punctual for our meetings. The cats were clearly well cared for because we were not punished when we returned. We looked forward to her regular updates and photos. I have no hesitation recommending her to other pet parents.”
“This is our second time booking with Caitlin H., and once again we had a great experience. She accepted our last-minute request to drop in for two days, which we really appreciated. Our cat Luna was well taken care of, everything went smoothly, and there were no issues at all. Caitlin is responsible, reliable, and kept us updated during each visit, which gave us peace of mind. We would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her.”

“Olivia dropped in on our cats while we were camping. Her communication before and during the stays was great! She sent me some pictures and made me feel at ease knowing someone was watching them 😊 I would highly recommend Olivia to anyone looking for someone to care for their fur babies. Thanks Olivia!”

“Awesome. She communicated well with us and genuinely looks after the cats. She is very authentic and caring. She clearly has cats as she knows what type of attention cats need. Will def use her again in the future.”

“Bri is truly the best. She takes such good care of my puppy! She keeps me updated throughout the day and is very detailed and expressive with her notes. She sends plenty of amazing pictures as she works one on one with my puppy. From training to providing amazing advice; she’s great! She answers back quickly and she is so accommodating and flexible with drop off and pick up times. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“This was our second time hiring Rosie, and she was just as wonderful as the first time! We used her for drop-in visits this time, and she was incredibly communicative and attentive throughout. Rosie clearly cares about the pets in her care and gives great peace of mind. Would definitely recommend and hire again!”

“Cassandra was so great and allowed me to relax and enjoy my time away while I knew my pet was being taken care of. All of the photo’s she sent were much appreciated, I 100% plan on rebooking with her in the future!”

“Very grateful for my experience with Kateryna! Not only was she able to step in when a family friend changed plans of watching my two cats 3 days before my trip! She also took time from her day when my toilet flooded my apartment to make sure both my belongings and cats were okay. I’m very pleased with the care she took of my cats as they’re quite particular in their needs. Would recommend Kateryna to any cat family and definitely book again!”

About: I love dogs and used to volunteer with a dog rescue to foster dogs before they found their forever home. Many had trust issues, so I took the time needed to show them love and gain their trust. I want to create a safe space for dogs, gain their trust and help them enjoy their time with me. I grew up caring for a little yorkie and dog sat my roommate's dog with they travel abroad. I do believe in discipline, so if a dog misbehaves, they will get a time out. That being said, I will make sure dogs are not in a situation that will lead to such behaviour. I work 9am to 5pm in downtown Calgary, so my time is restricted to evenings and weekend. I live in East Vancouver but work near BC Place so can easily walking dogs near these area. I work 4 days a week and free am free weekends. I live with a dog and cat and love spoiling them. If I could have my own dog I would but shall enjoy caring for pets until then. I care for pets by following their routine closely—feeding on schedule, providing fresh water, walks, playtime, and plenty of affection in a calm, safe environment.
“Kaela is amazing! I was expecting good service and she blew my expectations out of the water. She sent the most creative, engaging updates about my cat that let me know that not only was he okay, he was in great hands. She really went above and beyond for me. I definitely recommend Kaela!!!”

“Tamara was incredible with our two cats. She went above and beyond, bringing her own cat toys to play with our pets. She provided lots of pictures from her drop in and had great attention to detail with our requests!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Calgary
Jennah took good care of my cat while I was away and kept me updated with daily messages and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. It was obvious that my cat was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I truly appreciate the kindness, reliability, and attention given to my cat, great expo over all , I will definitely book her again!.

I cannot recommend Johanna anymore! I am a bit of a protective/paranoid pet parent and she gives very detailed and humorous reviews which I appreciate. It was my first time leaving my young cat for multiple days, and she eased all my anxiety. You can tell she deeply cares about animals and knows all the fun games for them. My cat Mango loved her so much too! She is very kind and detail oriented

Justine was exceptional with our cats. They appeared very happy in all the photo updates. We are impressed that Walter emerged from hiding during Justine’s visits— shows that she felt safe and comfortable around a new pet sitter. We appreciate your excellent service and would highly recommend Justine!

Kathleen took great care of my two kitty girls! They were well looked after, clean, hydrated and fed when I came home from a week away. As an anxious cat-mom, Kathleen was super helpful- she was always sure to reach out if there was anything of concern and she sent tons of great photos every day! I would recommend Kathleen to anyone looking for a sitter :)

I had a great experience with Tiana taking care of my cat! She was reliable, followed all of my instructions, and kept me updated with photos and messages during each visit, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. I came home to a happy cat and everything was just as I left it. I’d definitely book with her again :)

This was my first time using Rover and Rey was so easy to work with. He offered to swing by my place before I booked him for a meet and greet and I quickly knew I could trust him with my girls and the keys to my place. I had him come in once a day to feed my girls soft food and check in on them. He was communicative through the process sending me photos and videos every time he came in. When I got home he offered to walk my keys over to me - what service! I would definitely use Rey again!

Miranda keeps our minds at ease whenever we are away. We always know that our kitty is being taken care of in the best possible way! She really cares, and it shows on her Rover cards, keeping us up to date. Plus she's creative in coming up with ways to interact with and entertain our cat! Thanks again, Miranda!!

There are 2,000 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Calgary. About 88% of Calgary sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Calgary stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Calgary choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
