About: 🐾 Experienced Cat Sitter & Small Dog Care | Volunteer at Regal Cat Café 💖 👋 Hi! I’m Tamara, an experienced and reliable cat sitter in Calgary, specializing in in-home cat care and small dogs. I previously worked as a full-time cat sitter, ran my own in-home cat care business, and have volunteered with the Meow Foundation for over two years. I’m especially experienced with shy, anxious, energetic, and senior cats who need extra patience. I’m also currently a volunteer at Regal Cat Café, where I get to spend time with cats of all different personalities and help them feel comfortable, engaged, and enriched. 🧶 More than feeding—I make visits fun I love making visits more than just feeding and cleaning! I bring my own selection of cat-safe toys to help cats interact, play, burn off energy, stay mentally stimulated, and simply have some fun. I adjust activities to each cat’s personality — whether they love chasing toys and playing, need a little encouragement to come out of hiding, or prefer quieter interaction and companionship. 🐶 Small Dog Care Available Too! While cats are my specialty, I also happily care for small dogs and offer: 🐾 Dog walking 🎾 Playtime and companionship 🌳 Walks near the Rosedale Off-Leash Dog Area for dogs who enjoy being active 📍 I live very close to the Rosedale Off Leash Dog Area, making it easy to provide safe, fun walks and enriching outdoor time for dogs who enjoy being active. What you can expect from me: 💌 Reliable, loving, and attentive pet care 📷 Regular photos and text updates 🐾 Respect for your pet’s routine and personality 🧶 Playtime and enrichment tailored to your pet 🌸 Extra patience for shy or nervous pets 💛 Your pet’s well-being is always my top priority. As a pet parent myself, I know leaving your furry friend behind can be stressful, so I focus on keeping them comfortable, loved, and entertained while building trust through gentle care and clear communication — giving you peace of mind while you’re away. 🚍 Depending on the location, an extra fee may apply. 🗓️ I work a 9–5 schedule, mostly from home, and I’m usually available for visits in the early mornings and after 5 pm on weekdays, with additional flexibility on evenings, weekends, and holidays. ✅ I communicate clearly about my availability and ensure every visit is relaxed and attentive. 🐱 I provide care in your cat’s own home, where they feel safest and most comfortable. I respect their space and routine, ensuring minimal stress and a calm, familiar environment. 🐶 I offer in-home care and live just steps from the Rosedale Off-Leash Dog Area, making it easy to provide safe, supervised outdoor exercise.
“Nicole did such a great job with Jackson on his first walk with her! She picked him up from my work, sent me pictures while they were out, and he came back so happy. It was really nice knowing he was in good hands, and I’m looking forward to having her walk him again!”

“Stephanie was awesome with our dog. He can be a bit timid, and has never had a Dog Walker before, so I wasn’t sure how he would react, but he loved his walks, and is “smiling” happily in all the photos! It was wonderful knowing I didn’t have to worry about him while we were out of town.”

“Zipeng was is an awesome dog walker! I would highly recommend him. He took the girls on great walks and they enjoyed themselves. He listened to instructions and took great photos to keep me up to date. I will hire him again.”

About: I grew up with both cats and dogs and was trusted to take care of them when needed. I currently volunteer at a rescue where dogs and cats of all ages are looked after. I fulfilled my training in dog behaviour and sanitization protocols. I work full time but have the flexibility to work remote if owners are in need of a sitter during the week day and of course the weekend! I’ve handled dogs and all ages, with varying anxiety levels. Your furry friend will be safe in my care and we will have lots of enrichment activities!
“Cassandra always takes great care of Bear and makes sure he is comfortable and cared for no matter the weather, adjusting his walk time and including some indoor playtime when it’s very hot in summer or too cold in winter.”

“Sandra is great - and our dog Nelson agrees! We really appreciated Sandra taking the time to meet with us to get to know Nelson’s needs (and ours too!). She has been very attentive to Nelson we feel totally comfortable entrusting our little guy to her care.”

“Svitlana is really great with our dog. She is very generous and goes above and beyond. She keeps you very informed and has lots of photos and videos. You can really tell she cares :)”

“Misty gets an excellent 1 hour walk and is a happy dog afterward. Jennifer (and sometimes Darryl) is an obvious animal lover, always positive, very fit, and a great communicator. I am grateful!!!”

About: I’m a bit of a pet whisperer 🐾 even shy or cautious pets usually warm up to me within minutes! I’m patient, gentle, and naturally connect with animals, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. ❤️ Expect plenty of walks, playtime, cuddles, and photo updates while you’re away!! I usually work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule and can give your pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m fully available for house sitting, walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of company! 🐾 I care for pets in the comfort of their own home, where they feel safest and most relaxed. 🐾 I follow their usual routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest, while giving them plenty of attention, love, and company.
About: I’m a very fit and active 60-year-old gentleman who loves going out for long walks and would love the company of your pet to join me. My husband and I live in a condo and travel often so owning our own dog is almost impossible. We do have two grand puppies who we love spending time with and having stay with us whenever their parents are away.. I retired three years ago from my full-time job and now work casually two or three nights a week. My daytime and weekends are completely free to look after your animals. I am completely mobile and able to stay in your home to look after your pets if you need to be away on vacation. Also able to do some light housekeeping (extra fee) for you while I am in your home. Both my husband and I are complete neat freaks, and your home will be well respected and taken care of while I am there. I do genuinely love animals I would love to have some of our own if we could accommodate them in our condo. We are avid travelers, so the idea of having a dog doesn’t really work out for us. But I am drawn to dogs and I feel they love being around me as well. I’d offer a ton of love and am able to look after both sedentary and highly active pets.
“Megan has been such a wonderful dog walker for our pup. She takes great pictures and is so warm and friendly with our dog. We really appreciate her help regularly and will continue using her services!”

“Rebecca is amazing with my dogs. They both absolutely love her! Rebecca is always very professional. We’ve used her many times and will continue to rebook Rebecca when we need a little extra help with the dogs.”

We love Madison! She takes great care of our two dogs while we are away. Recently, we made some last minute plans and Madison was able to jump in and help us out on very short notice. She is professional and always communicates well. I know our dogs are in great hands with Madison while we're away.

Bri has been amazing with Otto. He was hesitant at first because he’s only ever been walked by family, so she slowly earned his trust over a couple weeks and now he loves to see her and go on walks with her! I really appreciate all the pictures we get and the report on each walk. It’s great to know when someone cares about your pet as much as you do :) Bri is also great with being flexible with timings of walks, or being able to accommodate two walks in a day if needed! We are definitely repeat clients and will continue to be for a long long time.

I decided to give Rover a try and found Javiera. She was very friendly, responsive, and great with Loki. She made the whole experience easy and gave me peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. I had a really positive first experience with her and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Calgary choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
