“We are so grateful for Cheri!!! Not even mentioning her impressive credentials, she is very accommodating, dependable and respectful. It is a huge relief to have someone we trust with our smallest family members on those busy days. Thank you Cheri”

“The freakin best!!! Seriously. I don’t even want to give her 5 stars because I don’t want others to steal her from me hahaha she’s on time, consistent, amazing with my dog and truly loves what she does. She’s a joy and I’m so grateful I found her on Rover!”

“Love when Danielle takes my 2 big girls for a walk! They both have different walk styles and temperaments and she can handle them both! They come back super tired - just what they need!”

“Amie is lovely! She and my dog have gained such a great bond that she makes a special trip to NW Calgary from airdrie to walk her. My dog (Belgian malinois!) isn’t easy… so it’s really nice to have someone I trust and helps out with on-walk training.”
About: I lived with a friend on a hobby farm. She showed me the ropes. I learned how to take care of all animals big and small. I am willing and able to assist in medicine administration. I have tons of free time that I’d love to dedicate to ensuring your furry friend has their needs through the day and even when you’re on vacation I work from home, starting up my own business but I have free availability pretty much all day. I hardly ever leave the province and can dedicate as much time needed with your fur babies as you need! I won’t have pets in my home as I have a cat myself, but I will ensure I know where all food, treats, toys and everything else they require before you leave. I will ask for an emergency response plan in the event I need to get ahold of you asap. I also have my own reliable transportation and will ask for the vet you use in dire emergencies. I will also supervise play time as I know how quick everything can go sideways. I also am very clean, if there’s a mess from your pet, it’ll be cleaned. And I have no problem cleaning litter boxes as well.
“Sara is very professional, patient and caring and won over my nervous dog on the very first meet & greet! Chewie is a big fan of Sara which gives me great reassurance, highly recommended.”

“Hope is great! Very reliable and excellent with the dogs. We have two dogs weighing in over 200lbs combined and she was able to handle them easily! Would definitely recommend and will use Hope lots in the future!”
“Kristen took my dog for a series of lunchtime walks these last few weeks and was great! She was fantastic at communicating pre/post walk and my dog loved her. Would definitely hire Kristen again soon.”
About: I’m Julia! I recently moved to Alberta because I love the mountains and the outdoors and I have a huge love for animals! I have had pets my whole life so I understand their needs and how to work with them! I have lots of experience with dog walking and looking after dogs. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and have dog sat for friends before. I am here to help you in whatever way I can and will look after your fur babies and make sure they are having fun and are looked after. I think for me this will be something good and I look forward to meeting your fur babies and doing whatever I can to help! I do have my own dog now but would love to still be able to help you out if he could come stay at your place while I pet sit (if you have dogs), or your dogs could come stay at my place. Thank you for letting me help you out! I am currently working full time but I still have lots of free time to spend looking after your fur babies and making sure they are well cared for while you are away! I always try to make sure your pets are having the best time making sure they are always fed, have water, some treats and lots of exercise if needed
About: I have been an animal lover my whole life. My first pup was a recuse from a puppy mill and we loved her for 16 years. When i was a young adult, i recused a stray tabby who sadly just past away at the ripe age of 21. We then just rescued another cat named Budweiser (not our choice but love it 😂) Now, my family and i have just finished loving our mini golden doodle in her 13th year and our hearts are missing that puppy presence. We are also a rescue foster dog family and love taking in the ones who need love the most. I have also volunteered in Nunavut at the animal rescue shelter and loved every minute of it. I am a stay at home mom who works a few hours a day at my kids school. We are a sports filled family, so after school activities are always happening but we can discuss hours that work for all of us. I have a fenced in yard and a furry friend to keep you pup company. I have a baby gate at the front door to allow the pups to sniff and meet our cat before enjoying our day together.
About: I’ve had dogs for most of my life and have hands-on experience fostering with rescues as well. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, including large and bulky breeds, and have experience with everyone from playful puppies to gentle seniors. What sets me apart is my calm, steady energy and the way I truly treat dogs as part of the family. I stick to consistent routines, pay close attention to individual needs, and always prioritize your dog’s comfort and wellbeing. I love being outdoors and adventuring, but I’m just as happy providing a relaxed, cozy environment for dogs who prefer a slower pace. I work from home most days, which allows me to be present, attentive, and flexible throughout the day. I’m around most evenings and weekends, making it easy to maintain consistent care, walks, playtime, and companionship. I offer all services, including walks, drop-ins, boarding, and house sitting. I live in a townhouse with access to shared green space in a great, walkable neighborhood. Safety, routine, and trust are extremely important to me. I always follow and respect your dog’s established routines, boundaries, and preferences to help them feel secure and at ease. Introductions can be done at my home or yours, depending on what works best for your dog. I provide regular updates with photos and communicate quickly so you always know how your dog is doing. My goal is for you to feel completely confident and reassured while you’re away.
About: We’ve both grown up with pets in the home since we were kids and have extensive experience with dogs. We have our own dog Toby who’s a 9 year old rescue and great with anyone. Our house is spacious and there’s plenty of room for a crate or bed if needed when your pet comes to stay. We live steps to away from an off leash dog park as well as regular trips out to the mountains for walks and hikes. We both have quite flexible schedules and have open availability including WFH. Lots of time to play with the pups and getting them their needed exercise. We have a spacious home with lots of room to chill. Great new area with a dog park only steps away. Are also mobile and do regular trips out to the mountains for a good stretch !

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Airdrie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
