“I needed a safe place for my Mochi and Tater Tot to stay out of my home while I moved, and I really liked that Jeanette had a safe, dedicated space for my girls where I knew they were well taken care of and were with someone who understood cats and their anxiety during big changes. Jeanette was accommodating, took care of my girls, and was very warm and professional. I'd recommend Jeanette, and anytime I need my cats to stay with someone out of my own home, would definitely rebook.”

“Isabel is amazing! We left our dog with her for the weekend and she took incredible care of him. This was my first time using Rover and I wasn't sure what to expect, but Isabel put my mind at ease. He came home extremely happy and tired from all the exercise. She was fantastic and texting me updates and sending plenty of photos so I could see how he was doing, and she was great at following any and all of the instructions I gave her. I plan on using her for any dog-sitting we need in the future!”

“Paige, Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Benji while we were away. It was clear from the moment we met you and your family that he would be loved and cared for, and you absolutely exceeded our expectations. We are so grateful for all the time, attention, and affection you gave him. Knowing that Benji was happy, safe, and being treated like part of your family made it so much easier for us to be away from him. It means the world to know he was in such caring hands. Your family truly went above and beyond, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you again for everything you did! We would absolutely love to have Benji stay with you again and would recommend you to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy dog sitter. 10/10 experience!”

“Tet was absolutely amazing with our high-energy Poodle, Okja, during our 5-night trip to Mexico! She truly went above and beyond, keeping Okja entertained with her favorite toys and making sure she got plenty of long walks and fun trips to the park. We loved receiving daily updates with photos and videos, which completely put our minds at ease and allowed us to fully enjoy our vacation. To make things even better, our return flight landed very late at night, and Tet was kind and accommodating enough to drop Okja off at our place right on time. We were so grateful for her flexibility! You could really tell Okja had the best time with her by the way they said goodbye. We are so thankful for Tet’s care, dedication, and thoughtfulness. Whenever we go on vacation next, she will absolutely be our number one choice!”

“Gary and Barbara are very good with dogs, my dog loves going to their place. I have found Gary and Barbara to be dependable, trustworthy people. I’m so glad that I found them to look after my dog.”

“Suzanne was great! She communicated well with us and sent lots of pictures. She has a great backyard that our dogs enjoyed. They came home happy and healthy. Would book with her again!”

“Carol was absolutely lovely. She spoiled our Frenchton and he was relaxed and happy when we picked him up. I also enjoyed how she only cares for one dog at a time so I knew he had her full attention. Will definitely use her again, she's an amazing dog sitter!”

“For some reason, my preview attempt at a review didn’t seem to work! I just want to say how fabulous Merron is! We’ve had Rocco with her a few times now and don’t have one worry while we’re away. Merron sends us pictures and updates and treats Rocco like her own. Thank you, Merron for taking such good care of our precious fur babies!”
“Thanks for looking after our Nugget over the weekend. Frequent updates, clear instructions upon booking and drop-off. Our pup felt at peace in their care and that's more than enough for me to rebook when schedules align!”

“McGregor had a great time staying with Angie for 6 days. Angie had great communication throughout via messages as well as photos. Our dogs had a meet and great a couple days before we left, which helped put my mind at ease that our dogs like each other. Will definitely be booking with Angie again in the future!”

“Jing was very wonderful with Sheikah. She was prompt and clear in her communication with me. She sent pictures of Sheikah to me. I was very happy with her service and felt that my dog was cared for and safe with her.”

“Camille was great! Easy to connect with and always fast communication. She took care of Luna like she was her own. I was able to travel with peace of mind and without any concerns while I was away. Will be booking her services in the future!!”

“From the moment we met Amber, we knew our two Aussies would be in great hands. Dante came to check out our dogs when we arrived and gave his thumbs up for them to stay at his place. Amber really listened to our dogs’ needs, and seeing pictures of them playing or on walks during the day was just fantastic. We never once doubted our decision to choose Amber because we knew she would take such good care of our dogs. She’s definitely our go-to person from now on!”

“We went on vacation for nine days, and Roni and Moka were very well taken care of. I had even prepared homemade food for the dogs, and Victor and his family were kind enough to warm it up and alternate it with kibble. When we came back, the dogs were so excited to see us—but most importantly, they were happy and clearly well cared for. We know that the next time we go on vacation, we will definitely be booking again. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our puppies!”

“Lynda was wonderful! She helped with a weekend overnight stay and took amazing care of my baby. She kept me updated throughout and clearly spoiled her with love and attention. I couldn’t have asked for better care — highly recommend!”

“This was the first time using Rover or leaving my dog with someone I did not previously know. Sean and Basia were fantastic! Having the Meet and Greet put my mind at ease and allowed my dog, Bentley a chance to meet Sean and Basia as well as explore some of their home and yard. They asked all of the right questions and listened to Bentley’s needs and likes. I could see that Bentley was feeling comfortable with them. They sent me daily photos and videos and I could tell that Bentley was happy, having fun and well looked after. Bentley had made himself quite at home. Thank you so much, Sean and Basia, and I will definitely love to have Bentley stay with you again. Cheryl and Bentley”

“The family including Oakley and Harper has taken really care of my dog. So good that my dog doesn’t wanna leave. Despite my dogs anxiety, they were able accommodate her personality and behaviour really well”

Jason was GREAT with Mac, very attentive and can see how much he cares for animals. Treated Mac like he was his own. Updated daily with how he was doing. Took him on lots of walks. If you want your pet to be treated like family, I'd HIGHLY recommend Jason to look after your pet.

Kandie was a life saver! We had to arrange care for our guys with little notice and Kandie took them in! Her reviews are what made me choose her and it was a great choice. She was super accommodating and our dogs made themselves right at home as soon as we got there. She sent pictures and updates so I did t have to worry at all about how they were getting along in a new place. We will definitely hope to use Kandie next time Eddie and Indy need care :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
