About: I have been a dog owner all my life. I am a working parent with 1 child. We walk and play outdoors everyday, often times in the mountains. We would love another fury friend around from time to time! I currently work from home full time and have lots of free time to play and go for walks. I am available to board weekdays and weekends after 5PM. I have a large fenced yard and back on to the walking paths. I love cuddles but prefer to keep the dogs off the furniture.
About: Greetings! I am an animal lover and have lived with cats and dogs most of my life. Most recently, I was a cat mom for 15 years. I am available to help care for your pet(s) while you’re away, drop in or live in. After retiring a few years ago, I moved to the Cochrane area. I have extra time in my flexible schedule to help care for your pets when you are not able to. I am happy to come to your home in the Cochrane area to care for your pets for either drop in or overnight sessions. I will take excellent care of your pet like they were my own.
“Karen is an amazing dog walker and sitter! Our dog, Phoenix, absolutely adores her! Karen is communicative, trustworthy and cares about the dogs she looks after. I 100% recommend her!”

About: I grew up with lots of animals and have been pet sitting for family, friends, and clients since I was 12. I’d love to help care for your pets. I am a photographer that works from home and have tons of flexibility in my work schedule to care for your pets and get outdoors! While I am unable to invite other pets into my home as I have three cats and a large dog, I’m happy to stop by to take your dogs for a walk, clean cat litter boxes, and play with your pets!
“Thank you so much Amber! Our pup Phoenix had such a good walk with Amber the last two days! She also fed Phoenix for us because we wouldn't be home for dinner. We definitely recommend booking Amber for dog walking!”

“Zoe walked Mojo today and it was Mojo's first experience with a dog walker! It went well. She sent beautiful pictures and took good care of him. She answered all my anxious-mom questions. Thanks for the great service Zoe! I will book again.”

“Cari is very flexible and willing to help you with your puppy or older dogs. She has been very helpful for us, as we work full time in Calgary. She was able to come over at lunchtime help with walking our puppy at lunch time. She has been an amazing help with our training as well.”

“So lovely to deal with! I reached out last minute and they were so kind and accommodating. They treated my dog with genuine care on his walk, sent lots of cute photos and check-ins of my pup, and he had such a great time. I’ll absolutely be booking again and highly recommend them to others! :)”

About: I grew up on a farm, and animals are a part of our lives. Dogs and cats were a part of my life from puppy age to senior age. Usually, the animals on a farm were our playmates when we were children, and they played the role of the family protector. And now I like to do the same for them. I am pretty open. l keep my life simple and do not over-schedule. I like to keep it so that schedules run smoothly for myself and the customers. I work from home and I am in control of my schedule. I make sure I follow the clients directions to keep their animal safe, leashes on when needed, doors closed quickly, gates checked that they are closed. I do my best to make sure they don't eat anything on the ground.,I have 25 years experience with dogs and cats. Love throwing toys for the dog to chase and retrieve. And I have the patience to take it slow with older dogs on walks.
About: As a family of six we ran a dog boarding care facility for over a decade. Fur babies have been our companions for most our lives. We enjoy outdoor exercise time with dogs. The company of a pet while relaxing at home is second to none. Life is only as good as the company you keep. We are a stay at home business owning family. With 6 of us and our friends and family coming or going throughout the day there is someone almost always home. Our boys are 22, 20 and 18 years and our daughter is now 9 years of age. We love cuddles and outdoor walks/jogs with dogs. Over night stays welcome or Pawsitive Pet Playcare! We are happy to accommodate your regular routine so your pet care is consistent while you are away. In Summer 2023, we welcomed a Yorkshire terror into our family. She’s been fun. Seen as dogs come with various personalities and traits we will enjoy getting to know your dog and socializing yours with ours. We can separate our dog from yours if necessary. If your dog is allowed to be on couch or bed we can accommodate that at our home.
“Caitlin was so caring and a wonderful “new” human companion to my 2 chihuahuas over our multiple days stay in Calgary. She ensured they got lots of attention, time outside walking , and cuddles too (all of which they love!). I always had great and timely feedback from Caitlin about how the walk went and she so easily ensured any updates or requests on my end were met. I won’t hesitate to book with Caitlin again when I’m back in the area. Thank you!!!”

“I booked Sara's services for a second week in a row, she is absolutely wonderful and am grateful for her spending her time coming out walking our pup. She is very reliable and love getting updates on how the visit went. Thank you again Sara!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cochrane
Cari is very flexible and willing to help you with your puppy or older dogs. She has been very helpful for us, as we work full time in Calgary. She was able to come over at lunchtime help with walking our puppy at lunch time. She has been an amazing help with our training as well.

Tammy was amazing. She was able to come walk our dog on fairly short notice. Both an evening and a morning walk - even in the bad weather in the morning. Our dog can be difficult with other dogs and our cat is always trying to escape and she handled this incredibly well. I have never hired anyone off Rover before and I am just incredibly impressed by this experience.

Brielle was so lovely to deal with and it seems Charlie is quite excited to see her for his daily walks. She is very consistent, reliable and communicates very effectively! She walks Charlie everyday and I certainly don’t let just anyone walk my fur baby :) highly recommend!

Kirk was absolutely wonderful with our dog Henri. This was our first time booking with him and we honestly couldn’t have felt better about it. He took such great care of Henri, kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear from the start that Henri bonded right away with him. What really stood out was how attentive he was - when Henri seemed a little off one day, Kirk checked in right away, adjusted the walk, and even offered to come back later just to make sure he was okay. That kind of care gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear that Kirk truly cares about the fur babies he works with. We came home to a happy pup, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book him again. Highly recommend!

I would recommend Darielle to anyone who needs their pet cared for. Normally you get what you pay for, but I’d say you’re definitely getting more in this case. Her care of Loki definitely went above and beyond. He even got a Christmas present from her. She is very informative and diligent. She also has two young daughters that are great with pets as well. She started walking Loki when he was about 2.5-3 months old and asked if I would mind if she took her daughters with her during their walks/home visits. I was happy about, that as it was a great way to get Loki some experience with young children as I don’t have any of my own. She had a door code to get into my home, and she left the home in better condition than when she came (cleaning up Loki’s accidents). I used her services for about 5-6 months would definitely have kept using her indefinitely if I had not moved out of the Cochrane area. She is very accommodating and the very very few times she had to cancel I was given lots of notice to find another sitter/walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cochrane choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
