“We couldn’t be happier with the care and attention Karen provided for Jersey while we were on vacation. She consistently went above and beyond, often exceeding the scheduled time, choosing a variety of routes, and ensuring Jersey got great exercise. She listened to our feedback, worked well with the caregivers, and kept us updated with daily notes and pictures, which gave us peace of mind. Her expertise with dogs was evident, and it was clear she truly loves what she does. We highly recommend her!”

About: Greetings! I am an animal lover and have lived with cats and dogs most of my life. Most recently, I was a cat mom for 15 years. I am available to help care for your pet(s) while you’re away, drop in or live in. After retiring a few years ago, I moved to the Cochrane area. I have extra time in my flexible schedule to help care for your pets when you are not able to. I am happy to come to your home in the Cochrane area to care for your pets for either drop in or overnight sessions. I will take excellent care of your pet like they were my own.
About: I am a great listener and understand how important our furry babies are to us all. They are family and I will always do my best to help you out with caring for your special family member. I currently have ample spare time to help out others with the care of their furry family members. My schedule is very flexible and you can rely on my help with comfort and ease. I am reliable, a great listener, and have respect for pet owners and instructions. I will provide a positive experience for both the pets and the owners. I have loved and cared for two dogs and three cats throughout my life.
“Zoe walked Mojo today and it was Mojo's first experience with a dog walker! It went well. She sent beautiful pictures and took good care of him. She answered all my anxious-mom questions. Thanks for the great service Zoe! I will book again.”

“So lovely to deal with! I reached out last minute and they were so kind and accommodating. They treated my dog with genuine care on his walk, sent lots of cute photos and check-ins of my pup, and he had such a great time. I’ll absolutely be booking again and highly recommend them to others! :)”

About: As a family of six we ran a dog boarding care facility for over a decade. Fur babies have been our companions for most our lives. We enjoy outdoor exercise time with dogs. The company of a pet while relaxing at home is second to none. Life is only as good as the company you keep. We are a stay at home business owning family. With 6 of us and our friends and family coming or going throughout the day there is someone almost always home. Our boys are 22, 20 and 18 years and our daughter is now 9 years of age. We love cuddles and outdoor walks/jogs with dogs. Over night stays welcome or Pawsitive Pet Playcare! We are happy to accommodate your regular routine so your pet care is consistent while you are away. In Summer 2023, we welcomed a Yorkshire terror into our family. She’s been fun. Seen as dogs come with various personalities and traits we will enjoy getting to know your dog and socializing yours with ours. We can separate our dog from yours if necessary. If your dog is allowed to be on couch or bed we can accommodate that at our home.
“Thank you so much Amber! Our pup Phoenix had such a good walk with Amber the last two days! She also fed Phoenix for us because we wouldn't be home for dinner. We definitely recommend booking Amber for dog walking!”

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my whole life, owning two big dogs and currently 5 cats back home. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages and sizes and love to see all the different types. I just finished university! I’m taking a well needed break from work and school, so I love spending extra time with furry friends! I have reliable transportation, and flexible hours to help accommodate other people’s needs I spend lots of time with my own pets making sure they are happy and healthy. I’m very dependable on making sure any pets are getting the best care
About: I lived with a friend on a hobby farm. She showed me the ropes. I learned how to take care of all animals big and small. I am willing and able to assist in medicine administration. I have tons of free time that I’d love to dedicate to ensuring your furry friend has their needs through the day and even when you’re on vacation I work full time in the city and I hardly ever leave the province and can dedicate as much time needed with your fur babies as you need! I’m very good with early mornings and late night visits. I won’t have pets in my home as I have a cat myself, but I will ensure I know where all food, treats, toys and everything else they require before you leave. I will ask for an emergency response plan in the event I need to get ahold of you asap. I also have my own reliable transportation and will ask for the vet you use in dire emergencies. I will also supervise play time as I know how quick everything can go sideways. I also am very clean, if there’s a mess from your pet, it’ll be cleaned. And I have no problem cleaning litter boxes as well.
“Melissa is amazing! Definitely recommend her for your dog walking/sitting needs. She walked my dog, Finn and sent me updates about where they walked and also sent pictures which was really nice and reassuring! Your dog will be in great hands with her :)”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, temperaments, and backgrounds. I’ve fostered dogs ranging from young puppies to rescue cases coming from neglect, so I’m comfortable adapting to different needs and personalities. I also worked at a dog and cat boarding kennel, where I supervised playgroups and cared for a wide variety of client pets. This experience made me very confident in reading canine body language, managing group dynamics, and ensuring every pet stays safe, comfortable, and happy. With a background in veterinary medicine as a Wildlife Biologist, I’m confident administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and keeping a close eye on your pet’s overall health and wellbeing. You can trust that your pet is in capable, attentive hands. I’m also very active—I’ve spent years hiking in the Rockies, so whether your dog loves long walks, runs, or high-energy play, I can easily keep up! As a former dog owner of 14 years, I understand the special care and patience senior dogs need, as well as the deep bond we share with our pets. In addition, I’ve taken training courses and worked closely with my foster dogs on skills like crate training and leash manners to help set them up for success. Your pet will be treated like family, with lots of love, attention, and personalized care. I have recently completed my Masters degree and am doing some online coursework to continue building my skillset so my schedule is very open and flexible to the needs of your pet! I take safety and comfort very seriously, whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home. I’ve created a pet-friendly environment with potential hazards in mind, any plants are kept in a closed-off room so they’re completely inaccessible, and since there are no children in the home, there are no small toys or choking risks present. My space is also senior-friendly, with only one stair, making it easier and safer for older dogs or those with mobility concerns. I pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs, including monitoring water intake based on their breed, activity level, and the weather, to ensure they stay properly hydrated and healthy. Overall, I aim to provide a calm, secure, and attentive environment where pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for at all times.
“Félix and Rachel always take great care of Merlin. He loves them and is always so happy to see them. They have great attention to detail and their communication is always excellent. They are definitely reliable, conscientious, and wonderful with dogs!”

About: I have experience in working at the humane society and various vet clinics. I am studying pet nutrition and behaviour which includes cats and their special ways. I am available to walk your dog, let them out or pop over for supper if you are running late. My schedule is flexible and I am able to help out on short notice. I am a mature adult, currently working a few days per week so I have the flexibility and time to look after your fur babies. I have a regular client who brings their cat to my home, however most cats prefer the comfort of their own home so I am available to take care of your cats and plants leaving you to to enjoy your time away.
“Jessica was a great dog walker for my pup Chachi during our 10-day stay in Canmore. She sent lots of photos and was flexible with timing of her walks. Chachi loved her. Highly recommend!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cochrane
Brielle was so lovely to deal with and it seems Charlie is quite excited to see her for his daily walks. She is very consistent, reliable and communicates very effectively! She walks Charlie everyday and I certainly don’t let just anyone walk my fur baby :) highly recommend!

Kirk was absolutely wonderful with our dog Henri. This was our first time booking with him and we honestly couldn’t have felt better about it. He took such great care of Henri, kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear from the start that Henri bonded right away with him. What really stood out was how attentive he was - when Henri seemed a little off one day, Kirk checked in right away, adjusted the walk, and even offered to come back later just to make sure he was okay. That kind of care gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear that Kirk truly cares about the fur babies he works with. We came home to a happy pup, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book him again. Highly recommend!

I would recommend Darielle to anyone who needs their pet cared for. Normally you get what you pay for, but I’d say you’re definitely getting more in this case. Her care of Loki definitely went above and beyond. He even got a Christmas present from her. She is very informative and diligent. She also has two young daughters that are great with pets as well. She started walking Loki when he was about 2.5-3 months old and asked if I would mind if she took her daughters with her during their walks/home visits. I was happy about, that as it was a great way to get Loki some experience with young children as I don’t have any of my own. She had a door code to get into my home, and she left the home in better condition than when she came (cleaning up Loki’s accidents). I used her services for about 5-6 months would definitely have kept using her indefinitely if I had not moved out of the Cochrane area. She is very accommodating and the very very few times she had to cancel I was given lots of notice to find another sitter/walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cochrane choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
