Hello, My name is Josie. I have been an active Rover pet-care professional for 7 years. 💚 I am a lifelong animal lover. I owned a beloved dog for 17 years, and currently have a gentle but energetic border collie/flat coated retriever🐺 , along with two friendly cats 🐆🐈⬛. Over the years, our home has acted as a refuge, fostering and finding loving homes for more than 45 cats😸. So, if your cat seems to dislike most people, you can rest assured that it will likely warm up to me - just like every cat does! Currently, I am a graduated Computing Science student 👩💻 at the University of Alberta, looking to earn some extra money to offset student loans 🥲while meeting new furry friends along the way.🤗. As an active person, I enjoy going for walks and runs, often bringing my pets to the park or dog park, facilitated by the convenience of having my car. I reside in central Calgary and look forward to serving clients in this area. My partner, Joe, and I share our home. Joe is an immense help with rover boarding, rover daycare, and caring for our pets. In terms of safety, trust, and environment, I provide meticulous care for pets either in my home or my clients' homes, depending on the specific services requested. At my residence 🏡, we have a large fenced yard offering ample space for dogs to run, play, and explore safely. Additionally, we have a spacious catio on our deck,😻which is directly connected to the house. This allows for cats to roam freely and safely, enjoying fresh air while being protected from any potential threats. My own dog, Abby, is incredibly gentle and can adapt her play style to match any dog. She's so tender-hearted that she even cuddles with kittens! Abby provides excellent companionship to any pet staying in our home, ensuring they feel comfortable and at ease. In my clients' homes, I respect and adhere to all rules and instructions provided, ensuring their pets are safe and secure. I maintain clean environments, administer medications as required, and ensure all pets are well-fed and exercised according to their routine. My attention to detail guarantees that your pets' needs are met, establishing trust between myself, the pets, and my clients. Ultimately, my priority is the safety and happiness of the pets I care for, regardless of the location. I strive to create an environment that is as close to their own home as possible, reducing any stress or anxiety that they may experience💓

Josie was wonderful with my dog Benji. I am new to the city and new to leaving my dog at home. She eased every anxiety I had by communicating with me and sending lots of photos so I knew he had a great time. Would recommend her to anyone and especially people who are new and need a bit of comfort that their baby is in good hands.
Josie is enthusiastic and clearly loves animals! She took good care of our two needy cats and did a little extra around the house when asked too.

Our dog had a great time, I was a little nervous as how she was going to get her out of her kennel. But she used the distraction of her own dog, which certainly helped our anxious pup. Maddie seemed to enjoy the group walk I would recommend and use her services again.

Schedule
As a new graduate from the University of Alberta, I work from home and set my own schedule. 👩🏽💻 I am usually at home, except for the occasional one or two-hour absence.
