She truly goes above and beyond. She did everything to make sure my poor girl was comfortable as she was having some anxiety issues and she took every extra step to help her get through it. By the end they were besties… which also eased my mind. Was also a special sprite to come home to a house that was put together and dogs that were happy and excited. She will be permanent and regular

We were so fortunate to have Stacey care for our house and very active 9 month old dog Ollie while we were on vacation. Stacey and her sweet furry side kick Fred entertained Ollie with brain games, fetch, long walks and lots of snuggles! She sent us pictures and updates daily which our whole family enjoyed. We were so worried about Ollie due to him having separation anxiety. However, Stacey’s experience with dogs and willingness to keep Ollie mentally and physically stimulates worked like a charm! We will recommend Stacey to everyone and would be happy to have her help again!!

Anastasiia is amazing. We booked her last minute for a two week stay after our cat injured himself and needed more care while we were away. We were very anxious about traveling while he was hurt and needed vet checks. From the moment we met, we could tell that she truly loves and understands animals. She took such great care of all of our pets including our injured cat who required daily medication, our other two cats and our small dog. We received frequent communication and pictures. I could tell that our pets were loved, happy and very comfortable. It allowed us to go on our vacation with absolute peace of mind. I can’t say enough good things about Anastasiia.

About: 🐾 About Me Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have extensive hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, and reptiles, and I've spent years pet-sitting for friends and family while always sharing my home with animals of my own. I currently have two cats and 2 dogs, all rescues, and definitely all the best decisions I ever made! :) 🐕 My Experience In addition to caring for my own pets and pet sitting for friends and family, I have volunteered in civilian rescue and transport for high-risk dogs and served as a volunteer cat caregiver with AARCS. 😊 The Rescue of Sally and Her Puppies. I rescued and transported a lot of dogs and cats over the past few years, but the biggest undertaking was helping rescue a mother dog, who we later named Sally, and her 8 one-day-old puppies from a reserve in Alberta during -38°C temperatures. I transported this special fur family to my dog trainer's acreage where we set up a secure, safe, warm area. I learned how to care for them and help with early socialization, structure, and training to prepare them for life with their future families. Every puppy, and Sally herself, has since been adopted into loving, forever homes. Being part of something like this was definitely one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences of my life! I am in a position with much flexibility and availability in my schedule, allowing me to easily accommodate most booking requests with little advanced notice. ❤️ Your Pet Is Family Every pet parent should have worry-free, stress-free pet care. I will treat your animals with the same love, and your home with the same respect, as I do my own. I understand that every animal, just like people, is unique. I'll take the time to earn their trust, understand their needs, likes, and dislikes, so they will be well cared for, and they will get an abundance of fun and cuddles! Whether we're going for a walk, playing in the yard, or simply keeping each other company while you're away, you will receive photos and messages during our visits so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your fur-baby is in caring, capable hands.

Danielle was a wonderful sitter. I had her stay over at my place for a full week to watch my cat Jules over the holidays. She provided daily updates and sent photos and videos. It was quite clear that Jules had taken a liking to her and was very affectionate in the videos. This was my first time leaving for an extended period, so this really eased any anxiety I had. I will likely utilize Danielle's service in the future and would certainly recommend her to other owners.

About: I have always had a special connection to animals. I have lots of experience with large to small dogs. I love going on multiple walks with the pups as well as taking them on hikes out to the mountains (if that is something you wish). I have no problem taking them to a dog park as I have an suv. I will send updates on your animals with pictures and videos. I myself have a cat so I have a lot of experience with felines as well. You can count on me to give your fur babes the best love, attention, cuddles and care. If you would like me to stay at your home overnight I will treat it as my own and make sure to leave it in pristine condition. I look forwards to meeting you and making new furry friends.

About: As a dedicated pet lover with a deep passion for animals, being a pet sitter is not just a job for me, but a calling. I believe that pets are beloved members of our families, and they deserve the highest level of care and attention when their owners are away. With years of experience in pet care, including volunteering at local animal shelters and fostering animals in need, I have honed my skills in providing exceptional care for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals. I understand the unique needs and personalities of different animals, and I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for them. One of my top priorities as a pet sitter is the health and safety of the pets in my care. That's why I require all pets to be up-to-date on vaccinations to ensure the well-being of both the visiting pets and those in my home. This policy ensures a healthy and secure environment for all furry guests. I have a very secure location in my house where they are allowed to roam freely in the house with my small yard. I prefer the environment where the client is more comfortable towards its furry being as I understand animals love to stay more where they have grown up. I'm open to stay at client's house for a day or two for house sitting. As a pet sitter, I offer a range of services tailored to the needs of each individual pet, including regular exercise, feeding, bathing, and administering medication if necessary. I am also skilled in handling emergencies giving pet owners peace of mind knowing that their beloved pets are in capable and caring hands. Above all, my motivation to be a pet sitter stems from my unwavering love and passion for animals. I am dedicated to providing the best care possible for pets, creating a stress-free and enjoyable experience for them, and building lasting relationships with both the pets and their owners. I’m currently working from home, as my job offers me a flexible environment to work which helps me fulfill my passion of taking care of pets. On weekends I’m free so I can take full time care. I work according to the client’s need as they know their children better. There are no restrictions in my house as the little ones will not be chained or caged unless required as per the clients request as I believe they should have their own freedom and should feel like home.

This has been my best experience with Rover in all these years. Tare Jo is an absolute gem. She had to deal with some aggression issues between her dog and mine, and she worked through it and found resolution without blame or judgement. The dogs were exercised multiple times per day and she kept in touch regularly with the sweetest of photos. My place was left cleaner than when I left, and all the bedding and towels were cleaned. Tara Jo is so very skilled, and I will certainly reach out to her in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Kananaskis on Rover is $36.63 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 612 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kananaskis. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kananaskis maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kananaskis walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kananaskis choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
