Our very first time using Rover in a super last minute pinch and we couldn’t be happier with Dionne helping us out! She replied fast on a late evening and was able to accommodate our two pups the very next afternoon. Our Doxie can have really bad separation anxiety and Dionne’s calm presence kept her cool and calm. I could tell when we pick her up that she didn’t feel stressed or anxious with us away!! Such a nice feeling and successful first stay with Dionne! The pictures of the pups relaxing with her helped ease any anxiety knowing they were happy and cared for. We would definitely rebook with Dionne again! 10/10

About: Hi, I’m a dedicated dog walker and sitter with 6 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages and personalities. What started as a passion has grown into a full-time commitment to giving dogs the exercise, attention, and love they deserve. My home features a true dog oasis — a rare ½ acre inner-city property with plenty of secure space to run, sniff, play, and relax. It’s the perfect environment for dogs who enjoy freedom, fresh air, and enrichment in a safe setting. I specialize in fun, stimulating off-leash adventures at some of the best parks in the northwest, where dogs can explore trails, socialize, and burn energy while staying under close supervision. Whether your pup loves long walks, play sessions, or peaceful companionship, I tailor every outing to their unique needs. Reliable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about dogs, I treat every pet like family. Your dog’s happiness, safety, and well-being always come first. Your dog can join my daily group hike between 12-2, or schedule a private walking time. About: What sets me apart is my calm, intuitive approach to animals. Pets tend to feel comfortable with me very quickly, including shy, anxious, and senior animals. I’m patient, observant, and I let pets warm up at their own pace rather than forcing interaction. I’m attentive to routines, body language, and subtle changes in behavior, and I take pride in creating a low-stress, safe environment while you’re away. I’m reliable, respectful of your home, and I communicate clearly with regular updates so you always know how your pet is doing. Pet care fits smoothly into my daily routine. I plan my schedule to allow plenty of time for feeding, walks, play, and quiet companionship without rushing. I’m consistent with routines and make sure pets receive attention throughout the day, not just quick check-ins. Because I keep a structured but flexible schedule, I’m able to adapt to each pet’s needs while maintaining a calm, predictable environment they can feel comfortable in. I provide attentive, calm, and structured care whether in my home or yours. I follow your pet’s routines for feeding, exercise, play, and rest, and I make sure they feel safe and comfortable at all times. In your home, I respect your space, clean up after pets, and ensure everything is secure and tidy. In my home, I create a calm environment where pets can relax, with cozy spaces for resting and plenty of positive attention. I communicate regularly with updates so you always know your pet is happy and well cared for.

Anastasiia is amazing. We booked her last minute for a two week stay after our cat injured himself and needed more care while we were away. We were very anxious about traveling while he was hurt and needed vet checks. From the moment we met, we could tell that she truly loves and understands animals. She took such great care of all of our pets including our injured cat who required daily medication, our other two cats and our small dog. We received frequent communication and pictures. I could tell that our pets were loved, happy and very comfortable. It allowed us to go on our vacation with absolute peace of mind. I can’t say enough good things about Anastasiia.

About: I have had pets since I was young, and I have always been responsible for taking care of those animals, whether it’s walking them, cleaning up after them, bathing them, training them, and overall just making sure the animals are living in a very high-quality environment. I have both a cat and a dogs. My dog is a bit larger, so I am knowledgeable on how to properly take care of a larger dog. I have also taken care of small dogs that my family and friends have had. Overall, I find I get along great with any animal! Respecting their boundaries is very important to me! I just finished my first year of university and I am working over the summer! I work most days but with a flexible schedule that allows me to check on your pets throughout the day! In my home my dog is outside and inside, but our cat stays inside. I value their safety, and although my dog is outside sometimes, I check on them frequently and give them constant attention to ensure that they are okay. In a clients home, I will follow their guidelines on whether or not the pets are indoors or outdoors, and I will give frequent attention to maintain their safety and well-being.

We booked Matheu to look after our home and dog, April for 9 days during Christmas but we wanted to do a trial first to see if he was a good match. We tried this last Friday and I have to say that everything went well. He listened and follow all the routines, he was friendly and April seemed very happy when we were back home. He is definitely our person for next time.

About: Animals have been a part of my life since I was 10 years old. Growing up, I cared for goats and helped look after chickens, pigs, dogs, and cats, giving me experience with animals of all ages, sizes, and personalities. In high school, I completed a co-op placement at a veterinary clinic, where I was later hired. This experience gave me hands-on knowledge of animal handling, health monitoring, and recognizing when something may not be right. I’m also the proud owner of Romeo, my 10-year-old rescued American Staffordshire Terrier. Caring for a senior dog has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, exercise, enrichment, and understanding each pet’s individual needs. In addition to my animal experience, I have a background as a Personal Support Worker, which strengthened my reliability, attention to detail, and compassionate approach to caregiving. As the oldest of 10 siblings, responsibility and caring for others have always been a natural part of who I am. Whether your pet needs daily walks, drop-in visits, overnight care, or companionship while you’re away, I’ll treat them like family. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free experience so you can feel confident knowing your pet is in caring, capable hands. I work from home, which allows me to provide pets with plenty of attention, companionship, and regular potty breaks throughout the day. My flexible schedule means I can easily accommodate walks, feeding routines, playtime, medications, and cuddle sessions while keeping your pet’s routine as consistent as possible. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving you peace of mind with regular updates and photos throughout their stay. My home is a spacious basement suite with large windows that bring in lots of natural light, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment. There are 10 stairs leading down to my space, so I always take extra care with pets who may need assistance or supervision on stairs. I share my home with my dog, Romeo, who is friendly and used to being around other pets. I always prioritize safe, positive introductions and make sure every pet feels comfortable and secure. My flexible schedule allows me to maintain your pet’s routine with walks, feeding, playtime, medications, and plenty of affection. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible in their familiar environment. I respect your space and follow all instructions closely to ensure your pet feels safe and stress-free.

This has been my best experience with Rover in all these years. Tare Jo is an absolute gem. She had to deal with some aggression issues between her dog and mine, and she worked through it and found resolution without blame or judgement. The dogs were exercised multiple times per day and she kept in touch regularly with the sweetest of photos. My place was left cleaner than when I left, and all the bedding and towels were cleaned. Tara Jo is so very skilled, and I will certainly reach out to her in the future.

FAQs for House Sitting - Kananaskis

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Kananaskis on Rover is $36.63 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 631 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kananaskis. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kananaskis maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kananaskis walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kananaskis choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
