“Stephanie was great to deal with and our dog seemed to have a great time! We had never left him at a boarding place so wasn't sure how he would do. It was nice to receive communication and a photo while we were away to see all was well and to see his happy face! I booked very last minute and Stephanie replied very quickly and was able to accommodate him. Would definitely recommend.”

“I contacted Jackie last minute to watch Meeka for what I thought would be an afternoon. We were on a climbing trip and didn’t anticipate being so late. Jackie was a lot more flexible than most would be. Thanks for taking care of Meeka so well.”

“David and Candice were awesome! It was my first time using Rover and I had to book a sitter last minute. Walter and Lily had a great time and I got lots of pictures of them throughout the day. Thank you so much!!”

“Stacey and Caleb were amazing! Our pup had the time of his life when he stayed with them at their Lakeside Pup Paradise! He went on more walks than he ever has before, swam in the lake everyday, and even got to cuddle with them in bed. They were both wonderful and kind. They even gave him a toy, some treats, and the cutest necklace! I’d recommend them to anyone!”

“Joann was so great! It’s very clear she adores all the dogs. She has a great outdoor space and sent me lots of pictures and updates. Oscar was a very happy pup when I picked him up!! I would happily bring Oscar back to her.”

“We left our 10 year old pomchi with a sitter for the first time, and while he was whiney and needy, Audrey made all of us feel so comfortable. Her big pup at home was a non issue, and we were able to enjoy a wedding even though our little dude didn't make it easy on her. 10/10 would take him back (if Audrey was willing) -Chels, Edward, & Pico”

About: Experienced dog-sitters from London, UK. Looked after two dogs loyally for 3.5yrs: day care, boarding and little holidays. My husband & I have moved to Canada last year and were missing our doggo-time so we set ourselves up on Rover. We now have vast experience of looking after new dogs (often on holiday), for single days, or up to a week. We are quick to bond and patient to understand your dog. We will give them the care, entertainment and exercise they need to have a great day 'away from the parents'! I work 100% remotely as an environmental sustainability consultant; my husband works as a mountain guide in the Rockies. We lead active lifestyles, but also love relaxing at home. Our building is pet-friendly, and we have a mini dog park outside. We have hard flooring throughout our flat but we would be happy to lay down additional rugs if required, depending on your pet's preferences. We don't have any stairs.
“Cindy took excellent care of Beatrix. They went on amazing long outdoor adventures. Beatrix is a very active dog for her age and Cindy managed to tire her out by the end of the weekend together. Communication was also good. Thank you Cindy, we hope to book again soon”

“Huge thank you to Maxine and Léa! They are always awesome with our big goofy guy. We never worry about our pup as he is cared for as one of their own, and the updates are incredible! We can’t recommend them enough.”

About: I grew up with a dog and have always loved being around them. As an adult, I’ve often looked after my parents’ dogs when they were away, so I’m very comfortable with walks, routines, feeding, and all the day-to-day care that comes with them. More recently, our family has become a bit of a cat family too — we have two cats at home now and have really enjoyed learning their different personalities and routines. We also have two kids who love animals and have grown up around pets. They're used to being around cats and dogs and enjoy spending time with them. I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether it’s dogs or cats, I treat every pet like they’re part of the family and make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I work from home so they’d rarely be left alone for very long. I have lots of flexibility when it comes to walks or drop in visits. We have a fenced back yard so there is plenty of opportunity for outdoor time. My preference is dogs that are crate trained for sleeping or when I am out of the house but that’s not necessary We do have two cats who are usually kept on a separate level from dogs staying here. When I come to your house to feed or pet animals out, I will follow your instructions and take care to make sure they are well cared for.
“Amber is amazing! She cared for our 2 dogs for 3 weeks and was just incredible! Our one pup is a senior recovering from surgery, and she was so great with meds and physio and taking all the precautions he needed in his recovery. Our other pup is an active one, and she managed to balance both their needs and is an amazing communicator! We were able to enjoy our extended trip with absolutely no worries, and also received regular updates and pics of their staycation with Amber. My pups also came away with a new best friend in Dante. To say that I highly recommend Amber is an understatement.”
“It was our Ollie’s first time with Bia and it couldn’t have been better. She made him feel at home and comfy the whole time. We were able to get away for the weekend and have peace of mind knowing Ollie was very well taken care of! Highly recommended!”

“Henri had the BEST time with Melanie and her son! They took him on hikes, let him splash and play in the water nearby, and spent lots of time playing fetch - his favourite. Melanie was attentive, had great communication throughout his stay, and took such wonderful care of our fur baby. We loved receiving updates and could tell Henri was happy, well-loved, and having so much fun. We’ll definitely be dropping Henri off at Camp Melanie again for future stays. Highly recommend!”

“Thanks Brianna for taking such great care of Rosie and keeping her active. I know she enjoyed playing with Pippi. I’m glad Rosie felt very comfortable and loved while staying in your home. Look forward to having Rosie stay with you again in the future.”

“Freddy was so well looked after! Stephanie and Robert took our boy last minute after original plans fell through and couldn’t have been more welcoming to him. Stephanie sent photos to keep us updated, gave him lots of walks and snuggles and I think he had the best two days of his life! Thank you!”

“We were so lucky that Reina and Justin were able to accommodate our two pups while we had to evacuate the Fort Mcmurray wildfire. We have never left our dogs with anyone before and I felt reasurred and comfortable leaving them in Reina and Justins’ care. They sent us lots of updates and videos and the dogs looked like they were having the best time ever running around the acreage and playing with the other dogs. They were treated like family and I'm sure they enjoyed all the cuddles! My four year old also appreciated getting close with the Llamas!!! It was a highlight of her day!! I will definitely use Reina and Justin again and highly recommend them!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
