“Evelyn is an amazing dog sitter! She was incredibly flexible with a changing schedule and our dog loved her. She took Billie on daily walks by the river for sniff and play. We would highly recommend her.”

“My dog Ruby immediately felt comfortable in Kathleen’s home and was a very happy girl when I came to collect her. Ruby was well loved and had a good walk before our long drive.”

“My Daughter was coming in from the Uk, she booked us into Canmore for 2 days and treated me to a day at the Nordic Spa, I needed someone to look after Buddy my 6 year old sheltie/pom, I was so lucky to have found Bia, he has really never been away from me, Bia new just how to handle him and made him feel comfortable right away,he was so content when we went to pick him up, he slept so well that night after having 2 walks with Bia and spending the day with her, I could tell he had a great day! Wish she lived closer to me but when I visit Canmore again I will for sure be booking with Bia she is an excellent dog sitter! Thank you again Bia 🙂”

“I truly appreciate the attention and caring that Rosie receives during her stay with Candace and Dave. We receive regular updates and photos while we are on vacation! Thank you!!”

“OUTSTANDING! Took Sophie for a long walk in the wilderness and I've never seen her so tired and happy. I think Sophie would have stayed forever given the chance. Thank You”
“Aaron and Corrine were so lovely and have great energy. They were very punctual, flexible, and always responded so quickly. While we were at a Banff tour, they happily took our baby and took the best care of Dexter. They eased all our anxiety. He was walked multiple times and played fetch a ton. Dexter looked so happy in the photos they sent 😂❤️ Merci beaucoup !!”

“We will definitely use Scarlet and Miguel again, such a warm and caring family they made our baby ( Maggie ) feel at home and 💕 loved, They gave us lots of pics and Videos and she was very happy and content. Highly recommended, thank you 🙏”

“We had a last minute change to our travel plans and were looking for a sitter in the Canmore area. Jackie was available and looked after our two Tibetan Terriers for 3 nights. Jackie wasn't familiar with the breed but by the time we arrived she had researched them. She had also read and was familiar with the dog profiles, including feeding schedule. The dogs had the run of a spacious back yard (and a buddy to play with) as well as of the house. Jackie was very good about providing periodic text and photo updates for all 3 days.”

“Joann was so great! It’s very clear she adores all the dogs. She has a great outdoor space and sent me lots of pictures and updates. Oscar was a very happy pup when I picked him up!! I would happily bring Oscar back to her.”

“Tracey was just amazing with our little dogs!!! It was the first time I had left my puppy behind and my others dogs are generally quite nervous. They ate their food (which by itself was amazing) and were happy and fine when we picked them up and brought them home. The pic updates were adorable. 5 stars for amazing!”

“Our dog Aspen had the best time with Stephanie for 10 days. Her property is beautiful and she is super communicative and flexible. We will be sending him back :)”

“Stacey took such good care of our boys. Excellent daily communication with pictures that gave us lots of reassurance that everything was going well. Highly recommend!”

“Henri had the BEST time with Melanie and her son! They took him on hikes, let him splash and play in the water nearby, and spent lots of time playing fetch - his favourite. Melanie was attentive, had great communication throughout his stay, and took such wonderful care of our fur baby. We loved receiving updates and could tell Henri was happy, well-loved, and having so much fun. We’ll definitely be dropping Henri off at Camp Melanie again for future stays. Highly recommend!”

“Freddy was so well looked after! Stephanie and Robert took our boy last minute after original plans fell through and couldn’t have been more welcoming to him. Stephanie sent photos to keep us updated, gave him lots of walks and snuggles and I think he had the best two days of his life! Thank you!”

“Thanks Brianna for taking such great care of Rosie and keeping her active. I know she enjoyed playing with Pippi. I’m glad Rosie felt very comfortable and loved while staying in your home. Look forward to having Rosie stay with you again in the future.”

“Huge thank you to Maxine and Léa! They are always awesome with our big goofy guy. We never worry about our pup as he is cared for as one of their own, and the updates are incredible! We can’t recommend them enough.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
