“Hailey was an absolute delight. From the moment I met her, I felt confident she was the perfect person to care for my fur baby. She connected with my dog immediately, and my dog did not want to leave her side. Dogs are a great judge of character, and it was clear right away that Hailey is kind, trustworthy, and caring. Her communication throughout the stay was excellent, and she regularly sent updates and photos, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. My dog absolutely adored her and was genuinely sad to see her leave. I would not hesitate to hire Hailey again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional pet care.”

“Thank you Gwyn for taking great care of our fur family for a week! Happy pets = Happy Us!! Great communication and lots of pictures! We will definitely reach out to you again for our next trip! ☺️”

“Mike took absolutely fantastic care of my two cats and kept me informed and updated throughout the whole time he was house sitting. My cats are usually a little skittish around new people but they loved Mike’s calm energy immediately.”

“We were so fortunate to have Stacey care for our house and very active 9 month old dog Ollie while we were on vacation. Stacey and her sweet furry side kick Fred entertained Ollie with brain games, fetch, long walks and lots of snuggles! She sent us pictures and updates daily which our whole family enjoyed. We were so worried about Ollie due to him having separation anxiety. However, Stacey’s experience with dogs and willingness to keep Ollie mentally and physically stimulates worked like a charm! We will recommend Stacey to everyone and would be happy to have her help again!!”

About: I've grown up around pets, and have experience with dogs, cats, horses, a lizard and fish, from all stages of life. I currently help my family care for four dogs, two cats, and three horses. Two of the dogs have issues with their hind legs, giving me experience with animals that have specific mobility needs. I'm also able to take care of dogs of all sizes, having grown up with small, medium, and large dogs. I currently pet sit casually for a friend, taking care of cats and dogs with differing needs (i.e. diet and the ability to go outside). I have the most experience working with animals in rural areas, but I am able to care for pets in urban areas too. I'm currently off for the summer, until I start school in the fall. This gives me plenty of time to take care of your pets so you can enjoy the summer without having to worry. I'm available short notice, and I can commit to long, full-time stays. I'm not as available starting September, but I can definitely do some pet sitting in the Calgary area. I'm very meticulous when it comes to taking care of your pets. Whatever their schedule, I'll make sure to follow it to a tee. If they need full-time care, I'll be there. I'm also a huge rule follower and hold myself to a high standard, so you can be sure they're getting great care. I've grown up around a lot of different animals and have taken care of a friend's furry bunch that have different and specific needs, and different personalities. Whether your pet has specific dietary, grooming, mobility or other needs, I'll do my best to fulfill them. I'll make sure to take the utmost care of your fur baby (or fur babies) so they feel comfortable and cared for.
“Our very first time using Rover in a super last minute pinch and we couldn’t be happier with Dionne helping us out! She replied fast on a late evening and was able to accommodate our two pups the very next afternoon. Our Doxie can have really bad separation anxiety and Dionne’s calm presence kept her cool and calm. I could tell when we pick her up that she didn’t feel stressed or anxious with us away!! Such a nice feeling and successful first stay with Dionne! The pictures of the pups relaxing with her helped ease any anxiety knowing they were happy and cared for. We would definitely rebook with Dionne again! 10/10”

“Rachel and Jason were so awesome, and even set up a meet and greet a couple days before the dog sit! Peanut has such a great time, and came back exhausted from all her playing! Thanks for watching our special girl on our special day!”

“We have used Dale and Lauren for dog walking and house sitting, they have a natural way with dogs and do a great job getting your fur baby relaxed in their company. They ask lots of great questions to understand your dogs needs and whether they have any special requirements ie medication etc. We’ve booked them again for our next trip at the end of the year. Highly recommend!”

About: I lived with a friend on a hobby farm. She showed me the ropes. I learned how to take care of all animals big and small. I am willing and able to assist in medicine administration. I have tons of free time that I’d love to dedicate to ensuring your furry friend has their needs through the day and even when you’re on vacation I work from home, starting up my own business but I have free availability pretty much all day. I hardly ever leave the province and can dedicate as much time needed with your fur babies as you need! I won’t have pets in my home as I have a cat myself, but I will ensure I know where all food, treats, toys and everything else they require before you leave. I will ask for an emergency response plan in the event I need to get ahold of you asap. I also have my own reliable transportation and will ask for the vet you use in dire emergencies. I will also supervise play time as I know how quick everything can go sideways. I also am very clean, if there’s a mess from your pet, it’ll be cleaned. And I have no problem cleaning litter boxes as well.
“Sara helped out last minute and was super accommodating to take care of our Annie! The house was spotless when she left as well. Very grateful for services and we would love to have her back.”

“Mehak was wonderful dogsitter for our 17 year old Heidi! Mehak was great with her, taking her for several walks each day, as well as playing and just chilling with her. She sent us daily updates with photos over the 10 days she took care of Heidi. Mehak was also very respectful of our home, bringing her own food, cleaning up, and leaving the house spotless. Wish she wasn't moving, otherwise we would have zero reservation about using Meehak again!”

“Andreea was awesome! Sent regular updates and photos and went above and beyond every step of the way. Came home to a happy kitty and everything in tip top shape. Thank you!”

“Anyone would be super lucky to have Ana take care of their fur babies! She’s very kind and genuinely cares for animals. She’s amazing with communication and sending updates too! Would rebook in a heartbeat!”

“Jay was literally the best pet/house sitter ever! I think our dog might actually prefer him over us now! Jay was so attentive, went above and beyond and was extremely accommodating especially as we booked him last minute! Thank you again Jay! We will absolutely be using Jay again in the future!!”

“This has been my best experience with Rover in all these years. Tare Jo is an absolute gem. She had to deal with some aggression issues between her dog and mine, and she worked through it and found resolution without blame or judgement. The dogs were exercised multiple times per day and she kept in touch regularly with the sweetest of photos. My place was left cleaner than when I left, and all the bedding and towels were cleaned. Tara Jo is so very skilled, and I will certainly reach out to her in the future.”
About: I have had pets since I was young, and I have always been responsible for taking care of those animals, whether it’s walking them, cleaning up after them, bathing them, training them, and overall just making sure the animals are living in a very high-quality environment. I have both a cat and a dogs. My dog is a bit larger, so I am knowledgeable on how to properly take care of a larger dog. I have also taken care of small dogs that my family and friends have had. Overall, I find I get along great with any animal! Respecting their boundaries is very important to me! I just finished my first year of university and I am working over the summer! I work most days but with a flexible schedule that allows me to check on your pets throughout the day! In my home my dog is outside and inside, but our cat stays inside. I value their safety, and although my dog is outside sometimes, I check on them frequently and give them constant attention to ensure that they are okay. In a clients home, I will follow their guidelines on whether or not the pets are indoors or outdoors, and I will give frequent attention to maintain their safety and well-being.
“We booked Matheu to look after our home and dog, April for 9 days during Christmas but we wanted to do a trial first to see if he was a good match. We tried this last Friday and I have to say that everything went well. He listened and follow all the routines, he was friendly and April seemed very happy when we were back home. He is definitely our person for next time.”

About: As a dedicated pet lover with a deep passion for animals, being a pet sitter is not just a job for me, but a calling. I believe that pets are beloved members of our families, and they deserve the highest level of care and attention when their owners are away. With years of experience in pet care, including volunteering at local animal shelters and fostering animals in need, I have honed my skills in providing exceptional care for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals. I understand the unique needs and personalities of different animals, and I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for them. One of my top priorities as a pet sitter is the health and safety of the pets in my care. That's why I require all pets to be up-to-date on vaccinations to ensure the well-being of both the visiting pets and those in my home. This policy ensures a healthy and secure environment for all furry guests. I have a very secure location in my house where they are allowed to roam freely in the house with my small yard. I prefer the environment where the client is more comfortable towards its furry being as I understand animals love to stay more where they have grown up. I'm open to stay at client's house for a day or two for house sitting. As a pet sitter, I offer a range of services tailored to the needs of each individual pet, including regular exercise, feeding, bathing, and administering medication if necessary. I am also skilled in handling emergencies giving pet owners peace of mind knowing that their beloved pets are in capable and caring hands. Above all, my motivation to be a pet sitter stems from my unwavering love and passion for animals. I am dedicated to providing the best care possible for pets, creating a stress-free and enjoyable experience for them, and building lasting relationships with both the pets and their owners. I’m currently working from home, as my job offers me a flexible environment to work which helps me fulfill my passion of taking care of pets. On weekends I’m free so I can take full time care. I work according to the client’s need as they know their children better. There are no restrictions in my house as the little ones will not be chained or caged unless required as per the clients request as I believe they should have their own freedom and should feel like home.
“Lyndsie and her dog kept my dog company and went for lots of beach walks together while I was away. Her dog Dierk is adorable and the dogs got along so well. I will definitely hire Lyndsie next time I need a reliable, outdoorsy dog sitter.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Didsbury
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 303 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Didsbury. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Didsbury maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Didsbury walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Didsbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
