“Karlee was amazing with our fur baby! She made him feel right at home by playing with him and taking him on his daily walks. She kept us informed with daily pictures which kept us at ease.”

“I was super comfortable leaving my dog with Jo for the weekend. She has a great set up with a fully enclosed backyard, which meant lots of space for play and bathroom breaks. She took great care of Meeka, letting her snuggle in on the bed, getting all the love she wanted. She treated her like her own, which I’m very grateful for! Will absolutely use her again when Meeka needs a sitter.”

“Teaghan was wonderful to chat with leading up to time of drop off - this was just as important for me, as she was genuinely interested in how to keep our dog safe, comfortable and well taken care of. She was even willing to meet before hand to get to meet and greet with our pup as it was our first time using a sitter for our dog. Frequent texts, picture updates and great exercise Completed the care for our dog. I could tell on pick up that our dog wasn’t stressed, nor eager to leave. Would definitely recommend Teaghan for her services and will use her again, myself, for any doggy sitting needs. Great work, keep it up!”

“Tanya was amazing with our girl, took her for walks and gave her lots of love while we were away. We also got updates every day and felt totally comfortable leaving our dog there. Definitely recommend. Thanks again, Tanya!”

“Penny did a great job taking care of my young German shepherd when we were apart for the first time ever. There was a lot of play time and a huge yard to get some good runs in. You can tell that Penny has a lot of experience taking care of all kinds of different dogs and I would highly recommend her services for anyone looking for a sitter.”
“Sonya did an amazing job taking care of Winnie. She's a dog whisperer and she really made Winnie feel relaxed and loved. Winnie loved her time there and quickly became apart of Sonya's pack. I highly recommend Sonya. We will definitely be using her services again.”

“Aaron sent so many updates and as an anxious dog mom with an anxious pup this was so appreciated. She said my girl got along well with her pups and I love that she had extra pup friends to keep her company while I was away. This was my first time leaving my dog with someone and it was a very positive one. Will absolutely be using Aaron in the future again!”

“First time to use this service, Cheree was great on keeping in contact and sending pics, and the kids and my Enzo had a great time together. I really appreciated the updates and pics as I was a nervous mama leaving her Velcro dog. Very happy that he was well cared for!”

“Kandie was a life saver! We had to arrange care for our guys with little notice and Kandie took them in! Her reviews are what made me choose her and it was a great choice. She was super accommodating and our dogs made themselves right at home as soon as we got there. She sent pictures and updates so I did t have to worry at all about how they were getting along in a new place. We will definitely hope to use Kandie next time Eddie and Indy need care :)”

About: I have owned dogs for over 20 years from small to large breeds. I can provide safety checks and potty breaks for you fur babies. Currently I have plenty of time to help with your pets. I will treat them as if they were my own and give them lots of attention. I provide a safe environment for my pets at home and would ensure that your pets are safe before leaving them after a visit. I would always notify the client if there were any concerns immediatly.
About: Like many others, I have been blessed with having the ability to care for animals throughout my life. In 2015, I had the wonderful opportunity to follow my passion professionally. I began working in a veterinarian clinic as a receptionist, technician assistant and external boarding for cats. After the adoption of our beloved Trixie in 2018, my focus shifted to behavior training while continuing care within the small animal medical atmosphere. Recently, I became certified as a professional pet dog trainer and specialized in aggression/reactivity/seperation anxiety. I continue my education through conferences/mentor sessions and am working towards becoming CCPDT certified. I am also an enrichment scent work instructor. I also have my Canine First Aid certification. If you are looking for someone to care for your companion, and would like to add any of the services that are mentioned above during their time with me (or at another time), I would love to get to know you and your companion. I am currently a stay at home mom and provide individualized training consultations as well as general pet care during early mornings and evenings during the week (including weekends). I offer limited care (1 or 2 dogs at a time) in my own home during the day if need be. My only requirements are that your companion not have prey drive (I do have cats and young children) and are good with another female adult dog. I have a large fenced in yard, and can accommodate your specific instructions/requirements as much as possible. Your companion will always be supervised and never left unattended.
“I Highly recommend Kristina for excellent care of your dog. Murphy was very well taken care of for sure. Kristina sent pictures and videos of Murphys vacation away from home. A excellent sitter, I would recommend Kristina and family to take great care of your hound... I will be booking again with Kristina next vacation for certian.”

We do have cats in the home but they don’t care about other pets. Non smoking home.
“Paige, Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Benji while we were away. It was clear from the moment we met you and your family that he would be loved and cared for, and you absolutely exceeded our expectations. We are so grateful for all the time, attention, and affection you gave him. Knowing that Benji was happy, safe, and being treated like part of your family made it so much easier for us to be away from him. It means the world to know he was in such caring hands. Your family truly went above and beyond, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you again for everything you did! We would absolutely love to have Benji stay with you again and would recommend you to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy dog sitter. 10/10 experience!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
