“Sarah is the best. Wanted to leave our dog for a month while we were away. Sarah would respond and send updates and picture of our boy as we were traveling overseas. Felt very confident he was being well looked after.”

“Exceptional care yet again from Denise! My pup loves being at her place. Lots of exercise and tender loving care. Looking forward to the next visit! Thanks, Denise.”

“Becky was fantastic - so easy to work with my crazy schedule and constant changes. I so appreciated that! And she gave me lots of updates and pics so I knew how my girl was doing!!! Shelby seemed to do well, despite being a bit of a nervous kid and having never met Becky or been to her place. I would definitely pick Becky again to watch my pup!”

“Kristin and her family helped us out with a very last minute request and took great care of Marli. They are great communicators and we got pictures daily. We felt really good about leaving Marli here. She was well loved. We are so appreciative. <3”

“Janelle took the time to get to know our dog and helped her feel comfortable and safe from the start. She was very attentive and kept us updated throughout the stay, sending photos and letting us know how our dog was doing. It gave us great peace of mind knowing that she was being so well cared for. Janelle kept us informed of every detail, and we truly appreciated her kindness and dedication. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of her!”

“"Five stars for Ginette! Our dog, Cookie, stayed with her for 4 days and had a blast. Ginette was wonderful about sending daily updates so we knew Cookie was happy and settled. It's clear she loves animals and takes her job seriously. Cookie really enjoyed her stay!"”

“Teaghan was wonderful to chat with leading up to time of drop off - this was just as important for me, as she was genuinely interested in how to keep our dog safe, comfortable and well taken care of. She was even willing to meet before hand to get to meet and greet with our pup as it was our first time using a sitter for our dog. Frequent texts, picture updates and great exercise Completed the care for our dog. I could tell on pick up that our dog wasn’t stressed, nor eager to leave. Would definitely recommend Teaghan for her services and will use her again, myself, for any doggy sitting needs. Great work, keep it up!”

“Carolyn is awesome! She had Jade for 2 nights and took very good care of her. Jade felt at ease and comfortable in her home the moment I dropped her off. Great communication the entire time. Would definitely recommend !”

“Aaron sent so many updates and as an anxious dog mom with an anxious pup this was so appreciated. She said my girl got along well with her pups and I love that she had extra pup friends to keep her company while I was away. This was my first time leaving my dog with someone and it was a very positive one. Will absolutely be using Aaron in the future again!”

“My dog was at Sarah's once for daycare and when we left him for boarding he was super excited to go there. Sarah sent regular updates and left me at ease, knowing he was being well cared for.”

About: I have been a dog owner for over 20 years. I recently had to let my ole girl pass over the rainbow, such an heartbreaking decision to make. She was happy as the only dog if the house and I had a desire for more happy tails! So I decided to start walking dogs and doing pet visits so that I could fulfill my need for more waggy tails! I do work a local job that runs Monday -Friday, but am done by 3:15. I schedule my walks for 3:15 and after.I do get a 30 min lunch break that I can do washroom breaks for pets if needed. Walks are 30-45 mins. I do have weekends and evenings off, this is where I make the time for pups/cats. I do not tend to bring other dogs to my home, I have done so on occasion but only after my dog has had a chance to meet our new furry visitor. I do dog walks, visits and out door adventures for your pup. I even take some of my 4 legged friends to the back country roads, for that nice open free run!
“Shelley and her fam were amazing with my guy! He was treated like part of the fam and was comfortable right away! I did not have any anxiety leaving my dog with her! Her home is very dog friendly and my guy had the best time of his life he played so hard and was pooped the whole day once he was home ! Can’t recommend her enough 🤍”

“Debra was great with Zoe. Regular walks and plenty of pictures keeping us up to date were greatly appreciated. Her attention to Zoe’s needs and flexibility with our travel plans were above and beyond. We will definitely be booking with Debra again.”

“First time to use this service, Cheree was great on keeping in contact and sending pics, and the kids and my Enzo had a great time together. I really appreciated the updates and pics as I was a nervous mama leaving her Velcro dog. Very happy that he was well cared for!”

“Wonderfully welcoming lady and gracious hostess to our dog for an overnight boarding. Our dog had her home and fenced yard to himself with no other pets in the house, with many walks to a nearby park. Darlene kept us well informed on how our boy was doing, and he was comfortable with her immediately. A great communicator and we feel so fortunate to have found this loving atmosphere in which to board our pet with. HIGHLY Recommend booking with Darlene and we look forward to doing so again!”

About: Like many others, I have been blessed with having the ability to care for animals throughout my life. In 2015, I had the wonderful opportunity to follow my passion professionally. I began working in a veterinarian clinic as a receptionist, technician assistant and external boarding for cats. After the adoption of our beloved Trixie in 2018, my focus shifted to behavior training while continuing care within the small animal medical atmosphere. Recently, I became certified as a professional pet dog trainer and specialized in aggression/reactivity/seperation anxiety. I continue my education through conferences/mentor sessions and am working towards becoming CCPDT certified. I am also an enrichment scent work instructor. I also have my Canine First Aid certification. If you are looking for someone to care for your companion, and would like to add any of the services that are mentioned above during their time with me (or at another time), I would love to get to know you and your companion. I am currently a stay at home mom and provide individualized training consultations as well as general pet care during early mornings and evenings during the week (including weekends). I offer limited care (1 or 2 dogs at a time) in my own home during the day if need be. My only requirements are that your companion not have prey drive (I do have cats and young children) and are good with another female adult dog. I have a large fenced in yard, and can accommodate your specific instructions/requirements as much as possible. Your companion will always be supervised and never left unattended.
About: I have experience with every kind of dog you can name. Experienced in giving needles and oral medication, following detailed instructions and enjoying every quirk your pet has. Whatever they need, I can handle it. Take a break, you deserve it! Pet care is my full time job, send me the dates and times you’d like and we can make it work. Talk to you soon! I will care for your dogs like they are my own, they will not be running wild or off the walls. They will be happy.

Sarah and family have a nice hobby farm where the dogs can roam. My Murphy had lots of outdoor time and got along well with the other dogs at Sarah's. Sarah sent photos and texts to let me know how things were going, which I really appreciated. I would certainly recommend Sarah and her family to look after your beloved pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
