“Ginette was incredible with our dog Zeus. She was attentive and went above and beyond to take care of him. He had some separation anxiety and she took extra measures to make sure he ate and drank water. She also sent plenty of pictures and responded to any questions I had very promptly. I would highly recommend Ginette to take care of your fur babies anyday and we'll be booking with her again.”

“Dougie had a great time at Carina’s .He got pretty spoiled !!! Carina was very accommodating, as our dog has diabetes , she took him on small walks and let him go at his own pace .Loved that she sent videos of their excursions. He certainly was well cared for .I would highly recommend Carina ❤️”

“Carolyn is awesome! She had Jade for 2 nights and took very good care of her. Jade felt at ease and comfortable in her home the moment I dropped her off. Great communication the entire time. Would definitely recommend !”

“Will definitely have my boy stay here again. He came home tired out and content. The photo updates were nice too keep my in touch so I didn’t have any worries about him. Thanks again”

“Sarah was awesome- blue heelers are a niche breed, so hard to find someone that not only welcomed Tilly into her home, but also encouraged us to bring her back. Sarah sent a couple update texts which were all positive, and most importantly dealt with Tillys leg injury while there. Well for sure bring her back when in Red Deer again!! Much love Sarah and family, Regards, the McCarthys !!”

“Denise was amazing! My dog was so well cared for the 12 days she had him. I received frequent videos and picture updates which kept me happy. My dog settled in so well with her lovely dog and with her. She took him to the dog park and cuddled with him on the couch. She truly values the animals in her care. I know my dog is going through withdrawal from her house already. He can’t wait to go back! I would recommend Denise to everyone. Thanks so much, Denise!”

“My dog was at Sarah's once for daycare and when we left him for boarding he was super excited to go there. Sarah sent regular updates and left me at ease, knowing he was being well cared for.”

“Janelle had our dog Luna over night at her home and she was absolutely wonderful. Janelle sent pictures throughout the stay, and stayed in good contact. Luna is a shy girl, and she seemed to feel really comfortable with Janelle. We will definitely be contacting Janelle again to take care of our girl.”

“Laura and John took great care of our Jojo and they even took her in on short notice. We have taken her there twice now and both times she had a blast. Even got a bath after digging in the dirt the first time. We will definitely be back. Thanks again for taking Jojo in onsuch short notice.”

About: I have been a dog owner for over 20 years. I recently had to let my ole girl pass over the rainbow, such an heartbreaking decision to make. She was happy as the only dog if the house and I had a desire for more happy tails! So I decided to start walking dogs and doing pet visits so that I could fulfill my need for more waggy tails! I do work a local job that runs Monday -Friday, but am done by 3:15. I schedule my walks for 3:15 and after.I do get a 30 min lunch break that I can do washroom breaks for pets if needed. Walks are 30-45 mins. I do have weekends and evenings off, this is where I make the time for pups/cats. I do not tend to bring other dogs to my home, I have done so on occasion but only after my dog has had a chance to meet our new furry visitor. I do dog walks, visits and out door adventures for your pup. I even take some of my 4 legged friends to the back country roads, for that nice open free run!
“Cheree took such good care of my cat. I felt good knowing she (my cat) was in a loving home and was being cared for and looked after while I was away. She kept me updated and sent me pictures on how my girl was doing and I really appreciated that. I would definitely recommend her to look after your fur baby.”

“Shelley and her fam were amazing with my guy! He was treated like part of the fam and was comfortable right away! I did not have any anxiety leaving my dog with her! Her home is very dog friendly and my guy had the best time of his life he played so hard and was pooped the whole day once he was home ! Can’t recommend her enough 🤍”

“Elizabeth took amazing care of my 2 doodles! She sent lots of pictures and updates for me to know they were having a great time while we were away! We will definitely use her again !”

About: I have experience with dogs and animals of all kinds and sizes. Here is a list for your reference. 12 year old Rottweiler. 2 year old black lab. 9 year old chihuahua. 5-10 year old Jack Russell. 5 year old Husky. 8 year old Saint Bernard. Fostered two 8 week old labs for saving grace. As well as grew up with yellow and golden labs from puppy till they passed 😢 Both my neighbours have dogs on each side of the fence and for that reason I am asking for well behaved animals as I don’t want to upset my neighbour's lives. I am an animal lover and enjoy playing catch as well as going for walks. I have one animal in my home, his name is tink and he is a 4 year old male neutered cat. I work part time and am a single mom that is usually available on short notice, as long as i do not have a prior commitment. We are a family of 3, myself and my two sons, ages 9 and 10. We have a small fenced yard and live in a townhouse complex.
About: I have experience with every kind of dog you can name. Experienced in giving needles and oral medication, following detailed instructions and enjoying every quirk your pet has. Whatever they need, I can handle it. Take a break, you deserve it! Pet care is my full time job, send me the dates and times you’d like and we can make it work. Talk to you soon! I will care for your dogs like they are my own, they will not be running wild or off the walls. They will be happy.
“Aaren was great with our dog Echo, the dogs all got along great together and after a 4 night stay with Aaren I can tell Echo is missing her and her dogs already. Will definitely be bringing Echo back when ever we need dog care. :)”

“Teaghan was wonderful to chat with leading up to time of drop off - this was just as important for me, as she was genuinely interested in how to keep our dog safe, comfortable and well taken care of. She was even willing to meet before hand to get to meet and greet with our pup as it was our first time using a sitter for our dog. Frequent texts, picture updates and great exercise Completed the care for our dog. I could tell on pick up that our dog wasn’t stressed, nor eager to leave. Would definitely recommend Teaghan for her services and will use her again, myself, for any doggy sitting needs. Great work, keep it up!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t recommend her enough! She took such wonderful care of our dog, Nugget, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She sent regular updates and adorable photos so we always knew he was happy and well cared for. When our flight was unexpectedly delayed until the next day, she was incredibly accommodating. She even brought Nugget home for us and made sure we had arrived safely before continuing with her own travel plans later that day. That level of kindness and dedication meant so much to us. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals and goes above and beyond for both the pets and their owners. We are so grateful for everything she did and wouldn’t hesitate to trust her with Nugget again. Thank you so much !!

I never left my dog with anybody other than family before. When I found carolyn in my town , I told her that I was nervous and we met at a park so my dog could meet her and her dog. The meeting put me at ease and I felt very comfortable with my dog's body language and Carolyn's demeanor. She was kind understanding and confident in her abilities to help my dog transition with someone new like her. Carolyn took my dog who has high energy for several walks during the day and sent me pictures to comfort me that my dog settled down in her home. I would gladly recommend Carolyn. Her care for my dog and me was exceptional

Absolutely incredible people. They took such good care of Lola, sent me pics and made me feel good about her stay. Wonderful family with their own really great dogs. These folks have lots of experience with pet sitting and you could see and sense their comfort with bringing in dogs into their home. I would highly recommend them! I hope to use them again when I am back in Sylvan. Don’t hesitate to book with these guys, they were honestly great!

Carmen was so great with our pup . As it was only the second time he was with a dog sitter . She met nuggets a couple times before the actual pet sitting and nugget adjusted really well . She very attentive and calm , which is what my 3 lbs chihuahua needed . I will get Carmen again . Recommend Carmen 100%.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
