About: Hi! We’re Will and Ellie (Wellie) — a British couple living permanently in Canada who work in the entertainment industry and love spending our downtime with furry friends. I (Ellie) have been fostering dogs since I was a teenager — especially pups who needed a little extra love, whether they were seniors, had medical issues, or came from tough backgrounds. I’ve helped care for lots of dogs who needed time to heal before finding their forever homes, so I’m super comfortable with giving meds, managing mobility, and just being a calm, reassuring presence. I’ve also looked after dogs with reactivity — whether that’s around other animals, people, or wildlife — and I always tailor care to what each dog needs to feel safe. Will works in wildlife and has tons of experience around animals too, so between the two of us, your pup is in good hands! We’ve both done in-home pet sitting (dogs and cats!) and have experience with everything from high-energy pups to cuddle bugs. We bought a house here in Canada just a year ago, and we're excited to start helping local families with their pets soon! We both work from home, ensuring any furry visitors have maximum attention and strokes throughout the day. During the week, we regularly let pets out into the yard for breaks, as well as two walks a day (to stretch our legs and theirs!). On the weekends we love to adventure into the parks for hiking or lake days, and we're always eager to bring your pup with us! We live in a house with a fully fenced yard that’s perfect for potty breaks and playtime. There’s a security camera system on the property, and we never leave dogs outside alone — we’re always right there with them. We also have indoor cameras so we can check in on your pup if we need to run out for a quick errand, just to make sure they’re safe and settled. Our yard backs right onto beautiful forest trails, and we’re a short walk from a great dog park too. That said, with unpredictable wildlife in the area, we always keep dogs on-leash during walks unless we’ve discussed otherwise with you in advance — and only if we both feel confident in your pup’s recall and comfort level. Your dog’s safety (and ours!) is the top priority, and we want to make sure everyone stays safe and happy no matter where we’re adventuring. We’re both used to handling outdoor animal encounters and tailor each outing to what your dog enjoys — whether that’s quiet sniffy walks, socialising, or just a quick pee break in the backyard.
About: My experience includes hands-on care with the SPCA, as well as volunteering at a dog sanctuary, where I cared for a wide range of dog breeds! I’ve had a rural upbringing and have grown up with dogs my whole life, so looking after them feels very natural to me 😊. I’m confident with different temperaments and focus on consistent care. I’m currently in Canmore on a working holiday visa from Scotland. I have a very flexible schedule. Working part-time in town means I’m available most days for walks and drop-ins, whether it’s morning, afternoon, or evening 😊. I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, exercise, and care! For 25 years, I have had Jack Russell Terriers, a breed known for their intense hunting drive, intelligence and energy. My current pup Dan enjoys long walks around the farm, but also loves his home comforts. I miss the companionship of a pup and would love to look after yours! I keep things simple by sticking to your pet’s usual routine. Walks are all about fresh air, exercise, and plenty of sniff time, while drop-ins include feeding, water, bathroom breaks, and some company. I make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable 💕
About: Hey! I’m Sarah and I am arguably the world’s biggest dog lover! I’ve grown up with dogs, and really really missed having them around when I moved to Canada from the UK 5 years ago. Because of that, I’ve been volunteering with a local, foster-based dog rescue for the past 3 years…which of course led to me adopting my own precious pup from them! I am experienced with a huge range of dog breeds, sizes and temperaments and have been fortunate enough to receive extensive behavioural and safety training whilst working with the rescue. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend soon! I currently work very flexible hours so I can be available as often as required to help you out with your pups scheduling needs. Walks, drop-in visits or home stays - you name it and I can make it work for you! My pet friendly home has a wonderful, resident pup to keep your four-legged friend company. We’re comfortable if you’re comfortable - crate or no crate, on leash walks or dog parks, it’s totally up to you!
About: I've always had dogs in my life, from tiny dachshunds to a great dane. I started a Rover account after we said goodbye to our beloved family dog, Mya, after 11.5 years of adventures together. I missed having a dog to share my love for an active mountain lifestyle with and encourage me to get outside in all types of weather. Soon after creating the account, I deactivated it to welcome a new member named Bailey to our family. Bailey is now a 3 year old German Shepherd x Lab Retriever ready to make new friends! She will be home during doggie day care so your dog should be good with other dogs. Walks can be done separately if that better suits your dog. I am comfortable with dogs of any age from puppy to senior and am regularly entrusted with caring for many friends dogs. While your dog is in my care, I'm happy to implement any training techniques you may be working on, including ecollar. If looking for full day care for your dog, and have any concerns about compatibility, please book a few days out so that our pets can have a chance to meet to ensure a good match before welcoming them into our home. I am an active person and love spending time outdoors, especially with the company of a furry friend. I currently work only 2-3 days/week, and am off throughout summer, therefore I have availability and flexibility throughout the day to play with your pup, offer pee breaks, take walks, visit dog parks, etc. Rovers availability options don’t quite accurately reflect my true windows of availability so get in touch and we will figure it out. I do have a 12 year old son so if requests are outside of school hours, there’s a chance he may be present - please let me know if your dog is not okay with children. I have a fenced yard and also live very close to 2 fenced dog parks within Canmore. I have a reliable vehicle and am willing to transport your dog to their favourite park or hike.
“Nicola is truly wonderful! She’s responsive, friendly, and accommodating. She’s taken care of Bean on several occasions (and sometimes even on short notice). She’s attentive to our pets’ needs and keeps us well informed (with photos, details, and a completed report). Bean seemed very happy to spend time with Nicola! I recommend her without hesitation and will definitely be using her services again very soon.”

About: Experienced dog-sitters from London, UK. Looked after two dogs loyally for 3.5yrs: day care, boarding and little holidays. My husband & I have moved to Canada last year and were missing our doggo-time so we set ourselves up on Rover. We now have vast experience of looking after new dogs (often on holiday), for single days, or up to a week. We are quick to bond and patient to understand your dog. We will give them the care, entertainment and exercise they need to have a great day 'away from the parents'! I work 100% remotely as an environmental sustainability consultant; my husband works as a mountain guide in the Rockies. We lead active lifestyles, but also love relaxing at home. Our building is pet-friendly, and we have a mini dog park outside. We have hard flooring throughout our flat but we would be happy to lay down additional rugs if required, depending on your pet's preferences. We don't have any stairs.
“Élise is amazing at drop in visits and treated our dog so wonderfully. We really appreciated her dedication to walking our dog during the drop in and keeping her company while we were gone for a short time!”

About: I’ve always been around dogs, my family has had dogs consistently since I was little so I have seen lots of different personalities! I try to help out with walks and grooming and the day-to-day of course! I am putting all the money I make on Rover toward my own Puppy Fund! Help me welcome home my own furry family member 🐾❤️ I currently work full-time but since moving out I miss having a dog nearby! I am available most days after 4:30pm with occasional weekend availability. I’ve been learning the layout of Canmore through my own walks and jogs throughout the town. I am level headed and prioritize taking care of our furry companions.
“Ofer was AMAZING!! He looked after my 3 cats with so much love and care. I didn't have to worry at all about them whilst I was away. He sent great updates and photos each visit and left the house spotless. He even won my super shy cat over which is no mean feat! Recommend 100%!!”

“Laura is WONDERFUL! I had her do a drop in on my brand new kitten (10 weeks), as I had to go to the office all week. I warned her that he is pretty nervous and skittish and by the end of her week he was in her lap and purring and loving her visits! I feel like he was looking forward to them. Thank you so much Laura for helping me socialize my new baby. We will definitely be using your services again! Leo now has a new friend. :)”

About: I'm sorry, but I can only take small breeds of dogs at the moment. I have extensive experience with all breeds of dogs. I had a boarding at home business for 10 years with over 100 clients who booked a year in advance for my services. I will only take one dog at a time. This is ideal if your dog does not get along with other dogs. Also, will get a lot of one on one time. I can also provide home visit services. I am now retired so have plenty of time to care for dogs in my home. I am home most of the time so your dog will not be left alone much. I can provide home visits as well. Lots of care and attention will be provided for your dog. Long walks multiple times during the day.
About: Since I was a child, animals have always been part of my life — cats, dogs, hamsters, and fish. I’ve always enjoyed taking care of them and understanding their needs. Back in Czechia, we have two cats (one of them is mine) and a dog. Whenever other family members were away, I took full care of all the animals, making sure they are fed, exercised, and feel safe and comfortable. I’ve also pet-sat for my sister’s cat several times, handling feeding, litter care, playtime, and providing calm companionship. Unfortunately I was not able to bring my pet with me to Canada, so I am more than happy to take care of your pet! In case of cat sitting I can check up on your cat at least twice a day and provide playtime and snuggles. As for dog care and walk your dog on my days off :) I treat each animal as it is my own, so with love and respect. I am reliable and responsible and will always make sure your pet is feeling safe.
About: I have been pet sitting for family, friends and through pet sitting websites for many years. I absolutely love pets and am looking to fill the void of missing mine whilst living in Canada. I am currently working full time hours across 4 days per week. I work close to town and can duck home during lunch breaks if required. I am home for most of the weekends I am happy to follow and routine or structure for the pets I look after. I have one dog in the house where I live so I am unable to offer boarding boarding
“We really appreciate Audrey helping us out with a last minute request! Care and communication was top notch. She contacted us before entering the house and it was obvious by the photos that our Luna loved her! Thank you so much Audrey!”

About: I grew up with several family pets and my wife and I currently have 2 very active Australian Shepherds. My wife and I are outdoorsy and love walking, hiking, training and playing with our dogs. I’m currently available for walking services as well as drop-in visits. If you have a fenced area, I may also be able to provide doggy playdates with one of my Aussies to give your pet some playtime! In 2024 I’m available Saturdays & Sundays (usually anytime) and Mon-Fri (only after 6pm). My days off largely revolve around time with my wife and dogs outdoors, so some extra walks/drop-ins are easy to fit into my schedule. I’m happy to do drop-in services, and offer stimulating play sessions as well as exercise to keep your pet(s) occupied while you’re absent. One of my Aussies can join for added socialization/play sessions. A meet and greet is suggested prior to our first play session to ensure the dogs are compatible.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Canmore
I truly don’t think there is a better dog sitter in Canmore. Nicola was nothing but helpful from the first time I reached out. We were camping in Canmore and had to fly home for a funeral. We had never left 2 of our 3 dogs before. Nicola came to meet them ahead of time and followed our many directions perfectly. We had a senior dog who is so shy and anxious around new people and Nicola was so patient with her and won her over. Our 7 year old dog was extremely anxious and Nicola tried everything to get her to eat-went so far above her job description. She also gave her the meds we requested. And we also had my sister’s 6 month old puppy-who of course had tummy problems when we left. Nicola handled everything we threw her way so well. She gave us updates after each visits. Her daughter even got Lily to eat when I thought it was lost cause. And when we had major flight delays, Nicola was willing to be “on-call” for the dogs the next morning. You can tell Nicola really cares and she does such a great job. Too bad we don’t live here-we would love to use her services again!

There are 73 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Canmore. About 92% of Canmore sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Canmore stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Canmore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
