“We’ve used Jill a few times now to walk our dog. She always follows the instructions, has great communication and is flexible with last minute requests. She’s great with our dog and we wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.”

“Second time Ellie has taken our little guy on his morning walk. He already loves Ellie and has settled right in with her. We are impressed that she does the full two hour walk, is punctual and keeps us up to date. We picked these guys as they seemed to really want to know about Rocky to make sure they felt they could keep him safe (and happy). These guys are just perfect!”

“Ofer kindly and promptly accepted our last minute request for dog walking. My pup Miel was taken care of and a happy pup. I would recommend Ofer for your dog walking needs.”

About: As lifelong dog lovers, we are excited to provide a safe, caring, and welcoming home environment for your pets while you are away. Pet care allows us to combine something we genuinely enjoy with the opportunity to save for future family travel adventures. Our household currently includes our 17-year-old daughter, who shares our love of animals and assists with pet care responsibilities. As my husband works away for extended periods, my daughter and I are the primary caregivers for the dogs staying in our home, ensuring they receive consistent attention, exercise, companionship, and supervision. We have experience caring for a wide variety of breeds and sizes, from small companion breeds such as Pugs to giant breeds such as St. Bernards. Our family owned a Black Lab/Golden Retriever cross for nine years, and we currently share our home with a medium-sized mixed breed dog and an indoor cat. Our home setup allows us to comfortably separate our cat from visiting dogs if needed. Our experience includes: • Daily dog walking and exercise routines • Caring for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs • Administering oral medications • Monitoring pets for changes in behaviour, appetite, or activity level • Providing companionship, enrichment, and individualized care based on each dog's needs • Experience handling dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments For the safety and comfort of all pets in our care, we ask that dogs staying in our home are friendly, non-aggressive, and comfortable around other animals and people. We do not have breed preferences and are happy to care for dogs of all sizes and backgrounds, provided they are a good fit for our home environment. We understand that every dog has unique needs and personalities, and we strive to provide the same level of care, attention, and affection that we would want for our own pets. We look forward to welcoming your furry family member into our home and providing them with exceptional care, plenty of exercise, and lots of affection while you are away I currently work full time in Canmore. I have an hour off for lunch that I head home for. My children are home all day during the summer. I have a large fenced yard with a very friendly dog that LOVES to play. Kids and I enjoy being outside as well ether in our green house or just enjoying life in the mountains.
“Evelyn was so accommodating when I needed a last minute walk for my pup, Hershey. He had an amazing adventure in Canmore with her! I will definitely be booking again next time I’m in the mountains :)”

“Élise was more than happy to accommodate our last minute request and was great in her communication leading up to, during and after the walk. She made sure Kygo was well walked and settled back in after. Thank you Élise!”

“Robyn has been amazing. She has been doing weekly dog walks with our reactive pup, Carrie, to help develop a relationship with Robyn and build to future overnight sitting. Robyn is kind, firm and cautious with Carrie. Everything we could ask for in taking care to keep herself and Carrie safe. We’re grateful for her time and dedication to getting to know Carrie, even working to desensitize her on walks with by teaching the command of touch/target and rewarding Carrie for touching her hand when asked. We feel confident in Robyn and look forward to her watching our pups overnight in the future.”

About: Hi! My name is Danika (Dani). I was a dog groomer for 8 years and worked in a dog day-care for 2 years; thus I have experience with many types of dog breeds! I grew up fostering both cats and dogs (and the odd rabbit). After University I volunteered doing pet therapy with my dog at a seniors home which we both loved. Now, I don't have a pet of my own so I have lots of time for yours! I have experience with nail trims as well which I am happy to help with. I currently work as a massage therapist in town so I have a flexible schedule with many gaps in my day to come home. Most days I work are 1/2 days. I live in a condo so I don't have a fenced yard which means each time your pet goes out they will be on leash. I do however, have a small, quiet, fenced dog park near my home. Which depending on their needs I am more than happy to take them there!
About: I grew up on a farm and I always loved taking care of animals! I never get enough dogs in my life! I will be very happy to take care of your pet with all the love they deserve! I adore puppies and being a part of their early training! I will adjust my services accordingly from puppies to senior dogs . I walk my dog 1 h every morning/lunch and after work . I am mostly available all weekends if I am not out camping or hiking I have a very lovely friendly bernedoodle who would love your pets company. I walk mine 3 times a day so your pet would also join if they need some activity as well
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life—literally! Since I was a baby, my family has had everything from giant Saint Bernards to energetic Australian Shepherds, a cuddly Sheepoo, and now an English Bulldog. Between my mom’s house and my dad’s, I’m always surrounded by a pack, so I’ve had experience with all kinds of personalities, sizes, and energy levels. Whether it’s keeping up with high-energy pups or giving a little extra care to seniors, I’ve seen it all. I also genuinely love being outdoors, so your dog will get lots of fresh air, exercise, and adventure on our walks. I treat every dog like they’re my own, and I always make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I’m currently working at a golf course for the summer, so my schedule is flexible and I never work more than 8 hours a day—most shifts are even shorter. I have my own car, so I’m always able to get to where I’m needed. I already go on daily walks, so adding a four-legged walking buddy is a perfect fit! On my days off (usually two per week), I love spending time outdoors hiking and camping, so staying active with dogs is something that naturally fits into my lifestyle. Whether it’s a quick visit or a longer walk, I’m happy to give your pet the attention and exercise they deserve. Whether I’m taking your dog for a walk or staying overnight in your home, I always treat pets with love, patience, and respect—just like they’re my own. I understand how important routine is, so I’ll make sure to stick closely to your dog’s regular schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions you provide. When staying in a client’s home, I’m mindful of your space and aim to keep things clean, calm, and comfortable for your pet. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe and at ease while you’re away, so they get consistent care and plenty of attention.
“Very patient with our dog. Second time for our dog walking with someone she hadn't met before. She was reluctant at first but Caitlyn was able to get her to accept a new person. Caitlyn is very responsive and good with communication. She was able to send me a clip of my dog running when they were out for a walk. I would recommend Caitlyn to others looking for pet care without hesitation.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Canmore
This was our first time using Rover and also otter’s very first time walking with a new person other than family. Dave was very attentive in listening to our wishes with Otter’s on going walking/training. Otter took to Dave immediately which was reassuring. We have already booked a second walk!!

Kayla was able to accomodate a last minute request to take Oslo on a long morning walk. She was really flexible and easy to communicate with. Oslo took to Kayla instantly and she was really patient with his rambunctious teenage energy. He had a great walk and came back happy and ready for a nap.

Mary was super flexible as we were in Canmore on vacation and needed our dog walked while we attended a lunch reservation. She was able work work around the reservation and met us at the restaurant. It gave us peace of mind to know Ellie Mae was in good hands while we enjoyed a delicious meal.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Canmore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
