Top Dog Owner Personality Traits in Dallas

Are dog owners in Dallas a bit more active than pet parents in other cities? The data points to yes, according to a recent Rover.com survey of more than 5,000 dog owners. 

Rover’s extensive dog owner database and knowledge of pet parent preferences helped identify five top personality traits: active, indulgent, obsessed, sociable, and eco-friendly. Dog owners were then surveyed to find out which personality traits reign supreme in 10 major U.S. cities, including Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, and San Francisco.

The National Ranking

Five cities rose to the top of our ranking: Denver, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, and Los Angeles. Denver tops the list of most active dog owners, Chicago has the most indulgent dog owners, San Francisco pet parents allege to be the most obsessed with their dogs, Boston dog owners are the most sociable around, and in Los Angeles dog owners are all about that eco-friendly mindset.

Dallas' Most Common Dog Owner Personality Traits

Out of the five most common pet owner personality traits, people in Dallas stood out as very active. Despite being the self-proclaimed least likely pet owners to take their dog on a hike, they enjoy getting active alongside their pup by including them in their daily exercise.

On top of ample walking, the majority (83%) of dog owners in Dallas are likely to play tug-of-war and nearly half (47%) are likely to do yoga alongside their pup. Next to San Francisco, they’re at the top for interest in using high tech devices like a dog activity tracker (37%).
