“Danielle was amazing! She kept me updated every step of the way and I could tell my cat felt comfortable with her. She made sure to send lots of updated pics as well. Would 100% book her again”

About: 9 years of professional pet care, plus many years of owning my own pets, caring for pets of friends and volunteering with shelters. My best friend growing up was my dog Lobo that we got when I was 1 yr old. I grew up loving and caring for animals and caring for them became a natural thing to do for friends and then as a living. I started my professional per care journey in Brooklyn, NY working for Animal's Are Soul, then worked across the country in Florida, for DogSmith of the Emerand Coast and in Salt Lake City, Utah for Mixed Company Dog Walking and Pet Sitting. I moved up from just a dog walker with Mixed Company to Assistant Manager, hiring and training people. I recently spent 2 years as Assistant Manager of Bare Paws. We had many dogs with special needs, such as diabetic cats who needed insulin and dogs who's back legs no longer worked. Old and very young pups. It is my pleasure and joy to make your mutts and fuzzy butts day! I currently work in New York, Time's Square as a performer at RiseNY Museum part time and am pursuing a career in the arts, and my passion. With that I would like to combine my passion for animal care as a part time career to keep my life well rounded and grounded. It is my pleasure and joy to make your mutts and fuzzy butts day In a client's home, I always remove my shoes at the door, get the pup suited properly in harness and leash, put shoes back on and get them out and about. I always have poop bags and paw wipes handy. Before the walk I check for any specific notes that may change daily to ensure that no feeding, or medication is forgotten. I only feed and give medication as specified and after the walk. If crated when I arrive, I will leave crated after walk unless told not to. I try to leave a home untouched and as it was when I arrived. Making sure your pet is safe and has had sufficient exercise and play and relief. Leave fresh water. Take careful notes for the owner, with full description of walk, poo, pee, etc. Including photos. Leave home and Pet feeling safe and relaxed.

“Emily is amazingly kind and compassionate. She took the best care of my doggo and made me feel at ease with updates and offers to accommodate Brownies needs with each visit. I will absolutely be contacting her in the future :)”

“Simply amazing! I will always ask Alekhandra to take care of my Bruno. This was my first time leaving my baby with a dog sitter and she made both Bruno and myself feel very comfortable and assured that he was in good hands. She even taught me how to properly get the harness on the puppy and how to train him for walks. She’s great and I’m more than happy with her services!”

“The best pet sitter I could ever dream of! My cats love her so much I call her their Auntie. Michelle is so caring, detail oriented and truly goes above and beyond, she makes me feel so at ease while I travel.. I truly can not recommend her enough! Thank you Michelle for all you do!!! We adore you!!”

“This was my first time having Jazmeen to watch my two boys and she exceeded my expectations. She was on top of everything I asked to be completed and then some. Both Cosmo and Reggie were fond of her and I will most definitely be booking her for my next trip!”

“I recommend Ian! He took very good care of my cats. He cares. While I was gone, he would call me and express concern if he suspected something was wrong. He was there on time every day for weeks, and always sent me pictures and updates. He even did the cutest drawing of my cat Winston and taped it onto the kitchen cabinet, which I appreciated. I will definitely call on him again to take care of my cats.”

“Eimy was excellent! This was our first time using the rover app. She was very communicative and willing to listen to our instructions. Happy to trust her in the future with our fur-baby.”

“Stephanie did an amazing job taking care of our cats. They warmed up to her very quickly even though they are usually skittish . It was also a last minute request and she really pulled through for us. Highly recommend if you are looking for someone to take care of your kitties 🤗”

About: I’ve always been someone who loves being around dogs. I’ve cared for high-energy breeds like Belgian Malinois, Huskies, and a Malinois-Husky mix, as well as smaller dogs like Chihuahuas. I know every dog is different, so I take the time to learn what they’re comfortable with and what they enjoy. One thing people notice about me is that I stay calm, even with energetic dogs. I enjoy playing with them, going on walks, and making sure they get the attention and exercise they need. I’m patient, dependable, and I never rush a dog if they need a little extra time to warm up. I’m also learning more about dog training because it’s something I’m passionate about. During walks and visits, I’m happy to reinforce basic commands and good habits if that’s part of your dog’s routine. My goal is simple: make sure your dog is safe, happy, and excited to see me the next time I come by. Pet care is my full-time focus, so I have a flexible schedule and can easily work around your dog’s routine. Whether your pup needs walks, drop-in visits, or daytime care, I have the time and energy to give them my full attention. I enjoy being active and spending time with dogs, so making sure they get plenty of exercise, play, and care is something I genuinely look forward to every day. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and any special instructions before every visit or walk. I always keep dogs securely leashed unless we’re in a safe, enclosed area where you’ve said it’s okay to let them off leash. When caring for pets in your home, I’ll treat your space with respect and stick to your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible. I’ll make sure they have fresh water, get plenty of exercise and attention, and I’ll send updates so you know how they’re doing. My goal is to help your dog feel comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away.
About: Coming from a family of breeders, I grew to learn how to take care and love dogs who are not all mine. I have a dog of my own but she stays with my mom where she is less anxious. I love and miss my dog so by allowing me to take care of yours will help me just as much as I am helping you! I’m currently a full time student with a part time internship. I have 2 in person classes and the rest online so I have plenty of free time and availability. My home welcomes all dogs, small and big. I do not have a fenced in home, however i do have a tight grip on leashes and and confident and comfortable at walking dogs. My apartment has pathways and grass areas where dogs can sniff and walk freely.
About: I’ve had pets all my life , from bunnies to dogs and cats, gerbils, even fish. Animals are such a big part of my day to day life, constantly providing happiness. Back in high school i’d feed the cats at lunch time and spend time with them. I currently have two dogs i rescued, as well as a cat who recently found her way into my heart. I’m available 24/7 for your pet care needs - around the clock, 365 days a year. I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pet and ensure they’re entertained. I have a fenced yard so your pup can play around, and 2 beautiful doggie fur babies to keep your pet company (if your pet is not friendly i live in a home with an upstairs and down stairs so they can be kept separate and happy!!!) I have a cat tree as well as plenty of cat and dog toys on hand.

“Jennifer was a fantastic dog walker & carer for our pup who stayed home while we went away. She was open to meeting with us prior, to form a bond with our anxious dog, who warmed up to her instantly! For once, we felt at ease travelling without Kobe. Jennifer also administered his medication everyday with no hiccups and stayed in contact with us daily, which made us feel very reassured. Not only would I recommend her services — we look forward to Jennifer watching Kobe again in the future. If I could give 10 stars I would! ??”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
