“Mel was amazing taking care of both of our animals. She was super communicative, sent lots of great pictures and was super easy to work with. 10/10 would recommend Mel for all your pet needs!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 13. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk and feed pets. I have experience with different breeds and size dogs, even with puppies. And I've gotten use to cleans messes and teaching from time to time. I'm not an expert but what I learned has help my friends and family with the dogs and puppies. Also if bathing the dog is a problem I have no issues handling it if the need arrives. I'm free anytime from Monday thru Friday but not Thursday evenings and I can do weekends if necessary but not Sunday mornings unfortunately do to religious reasons unless I'm pet sitting. I do have different size crates if needed one small, medium, and xtra large and I do have a gated section in my home for the dogs.
“I highly recommend CeeCee for your pet and home sitting needs. We hired her to look after our overly affectionate cat and our quirky pit-mix pup while out of town for 6 days. CeeCee was communicative, sent pictures, and took care of needs as requested, including watering plants. She kept the house tidy, even throwing in a load of wash at the end of her stay. We will definitely be repeat customers for future pet sitting needs.”

“Yolanda was very informative and accommodating for our first time using Rover. Our pups seemed comfortable with her right away. She communicated with us throughout our trip and sent us pics of our fur babies. Will definitely work with her again.”

“Amazing service from Milena and Fernando! It's the second time we leave our 2 medium size dogs with them. This time, Milena came at our house and provided a top service, taking great care of our puppies for 4 days, with lots of cuddles, care, pictures and love! Thank you so much pnce again! Will for sure call you again for future!”

“She took care of my dog as best as she could and in the most horrible time crunch. The one thing i can say is that my dog was pleased with her and I was pleased with her. Will definitely use her services again.”

“Katherine is fantastic! She took such great care of our dog and cat, Moose and Mister. Her communication was excellent, she sent us updates regularly, and the boys loved her. Can’t recommend Katherine enough.”

“Malgorzata was prompt on replies and got along really well with my dog who is normally cautious around new people. While on vacation she sent many photos and updates to keep me posted on the status of Jaeger. Great communication and when I returned he was happy and healthy!”

“This is second vacation Leslie has house set for us. She is amazing! We have two rescue dogs that we wanted to leave in their home while we were away. She fed them, played and walked them and gave them their meds. Peace of mind knowing your fur babies are well cared for makes being away more relaxing. We had daily texts with photos which helped with our missing them too.”

“Andrew was fantastic with our senior dog for an overnight stay. He was very kind and communicative and I felt at ease with him watching our dog. Would definitely recommend him!”

“Jocelyn took excellent care of my two dogs while I was away for a long weekend. She sent frequent and reassuring updates and went above-and-beyond the call of duty.”

“Alekhandra is so responsible and reliable. She was so thorough with direction and got along with our fur baby right away. We will definitely will use her again!!”

“Kate was great with our labradoodle puppy! Got tons of photos and video update, communication was easy, she arrived early and was well prepared. Would be delighted to book her again.”

About: I’ve always been someone who loves being around dogs. I’ve cared for high-energy breeds like Belgian Malinois, Huskies, and a Malinois-Husky mix, as well as smaller dogs like Chihuahuas. I know every dog is different, so I take the time to learn what they’re comfortable with and what they enjoy. One thing people notice about me is that I stay calm, even with energetic dogs. I enjoy playing with them, going on walks, and making sure they get the attention and exercise they need. I’m patient, dependable, and I never rush a dog if they need a little extra time to warm up. I’m also learning more about dog training because it’s something I’m passionate about. During walks and visits, I’m happy to reinforce basic commands and good habits if that’s part of your dog’s routine. My goal is simple: make sure your dog is safe, happy, and excited to see me the next time I come by. Pet care is my full-time focus, so I have a flexible schedule and can easily work around your dog’s routine. Whether your pup needs walks, drop-in visits, or daytime care, I have the time and energy to give them my full attention. I enjoy being active and spending time with dogs, so making sure they get plenty of exercise, play, and care is something I genuinely look forward to every day. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and any special instructions before every visit or walk. I always keep dogs securely leashed unless we’re in a safe, enclosed area where you’ve said it’s okay to let them off leash. When caring for pets in your home, I’ll treat your space with respect and stick to your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible. I’ll make sure they have fresh water, get plenty of exercise and attention, and I’ll send updates so you know how they’re doing. My goal is to help your dog feel comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away.
About: I've always loved being around animals. For the past 2-3 years give or take, I would help out and take care of my family and friends pets whenever they would be was away. Dogs, Cats, even Guinea pigs. It's something that I love doing, and I love to hang out with them and care for them :) It's what made me realize I wanted to do this more. I feel I can resonate with their energy, and get along with them very well. I also grew up having a dog, and though hes no longer with me I always love being around animals regardless. I aim to be available whenever I can! I am not in school, nor do I have any full time work. I'm open for pretty much all days including weekends. Regardless of the environment, or animal, cat or dog, I will always aim to make sure they are comfortable, fed and given affection. I'd walk and clean up after them if and when needed to. My house is always clean, and should I be at a client's house, I will make sure it looks exactly the same as it did when I arrived (better if possible)
“Averi was AMAZING! Responsive, sent pictures, left the house clean and most importantly took amazing care of our older doggo! Definitely book Averi for any of your needs!”

“Lehan was amazing and Milo loved her. She gave great updates and sent a lot of photos. Milo had so much fun and I will be using Lehan every time I take a trip. Thank you again for everything!”

“Mi’kaya is a wonderful sitter and took good care of my two cats while I was gone to my home country for a month long visit. She is responsible and friendly. I trust her for any future sits that I might require for my cats.”

“Berenice is an incredible sitter! She watched our 10 year old collie Wynter for a week and was so thoughtful, responsive and kind throughout. Berenice was very attentive to our pups needs, taking care with long walks and making sure to give her all of over joint and dental supplements. She sends so many photos a day which is really comforting when you are far away from your fur baby. I would book her again and again!”

“Jose took care of my dog, Yogi, for three days and stayed at my home while I was away. He was very responsive throughout the entire stay and consistently kept me updated with photos and messages from Yogi’s morning and evening walks. It gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing Yogi was being well cared for. Everything went smoothly, and Yogi was happy and comfortable when I returned. I really appreciated Jose’s communication, reliability, and attention to detail. I would absolutely book him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.”

Fernando takes excellent care of our foster dog, Ernesto and this stay was no exception. Even though he's watched him a few times before, each stay is different as Ernesto learns and grows and Fernando handles each update and change beautifully. He's a wonderful communicator and we never even have to wonder how Ernesto is doing when we are away because Fernando keeps us posted at every step. Thank you so much, Fernando!

Olivia is a great pet sitter. She is prompt, courteous, and understanding of all questions and concerns while we were traveling, and she is great with animals as well. Her photo updates were also always timely and a pleasure to receive. I felt at ease knowing that our cat was in good hands!

Kathleen watched my dog for over a week and was a great dog sitter. She regularly sent photos and updates about their day, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was on vacation. She was also very quick and easy to communicate with throughout the stay. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a dog/cat sitter!

Aiyana was great! Would absolutely ask her to stay and watch Maggie again. She helped me out last minute and was able to be communicative and prompt right away. She showed up on time to meet Maggie and grab the keys from me. The apartment was left clean and organized.

Michelle was kind and clearly cares about the pets she looks after. She followed all of our instructions and left our home exactly how we left it, which we really appreciated. There were a couple of timing and communication issues at the beginning, but once we connected, she was very responsive and made sure everything was taken care of. I appreciated her willingness to adjust and make things right. Overall, our experience ended on a positive note, and I would feel comfortable booking with her again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Bayonne
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Bayonne on Rover is $48.17 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 19,022 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bayonne. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bayonne walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bayonne maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bayonne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bayonne. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
