Intentional, High-Quality Dog Care

I'm Hugh, an experienced dog owner and caregiver who builds his schedule around the dogs he’s caring for. I’ve handled dogs of all sizes, including an Old English Sheepdog, Havanese, and Bernedoodle, and I’ve spent years helping run a doggie daycare. I focus on calm, structured, and consistent care, especially for dogs who need real engagement and a stable routine. I specialize in: High-energy dogs that need meaningful exercise Large breeds that benefit from confident handling Dogs that thrive on routine and clear boundaries Shy or socially selective dogs that need patience and calm presence House Sitting (Limited Availability) I take on a limited number of house sitting bookings so I can focus on one household at a time. I don’t split my time across multiple homes. When I’m with your dog, they get consistent care, structure, and real attention throughout the day. This is a good fit for: Puppies or dogs still building routines High-energy dogs that need more than quick visits Dogs that do best with a steady, low-stress environment My goal is to maintain your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible while you’re away. Walks & Drop-Ins For walks and drop-ins, I provide the same level of attentiveness and reliability, with a focus on making each visit meaningful rather than rushed. I prioritize clear communication, so you’ll receive thoughtful updates, photos, and honest notes throughout the stay. I’m looking to build long-term relationships with clients who value consistent, reliable care. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d be happy to set up a meet & greet.

Hugh was great with my two older large dogs. He administered medication and even cooked for one of my dogs who was sick at the time. He was prompt with communication and left my apartment in a good condition. I highly recommend Hugh and will definitely reach out to him again.

Dog Walking • Feb 26, 2026

John is really ann exceptional dog walker who goes above and beyond to make both pets and owners feel completely at ease. He was reliable, punctual, and incredibly attentive to my dog’s needs and personality. Sadie immediately felt comfortable with him, which says everything about his calm and confident approach. John provides thoughtful updates, photos, and clear communication during the walk and he also offered to share his location with me during the walk, so I knew she was safe and happy. It’s clear to me he treats animals with genuine care, patience, and professionalism. I fully trust him and would highly recommend John to anyone looking for a dependable, knowledgeable, and compassionate dog walker. We will absolutely continue booking with him!

Hugh is our every week sitter for our little pup! He’s been amazing with Sesame, and has helped with Sesame’s development training while he’s watching him!

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine because I build my schedule around the dogs I’m caring for. I’m very intentional about giving each pet as much time, attention, and engagement as they need I don’t rush visits or squeeze them in between other obligations. When I’m caring for someone’s dog, they become the priority in my day. Whether it’s extra-long walks, playtime, slow sniff sessions, or just hanging out together for companionship, I make sure your pup gets real, quality time with me. I love being present with dogs, and I’m happiest when I can devote a big chunk of my day to making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for.

Before caring for any pet, I always like to learn as much as possible so I can give them the best experience. Some important things to know ahead of time are: Daily routine – feeding schedule, walk times, sleep habits, and rituals they enjoy. Energy level & exercise needs – are they a snuggler, a sprinter, or somewhere in between? Temperament – shy, social, selective, anxious, friendly with kids/other dogs? Medical needs – medications, allergies, mobility issues, or anything I should monitor closely. Training & boundaries – commands they know, behaviors you’re reinforcing, or habits to avoid. Triggers or fears – things that might make them stressed (loud noises, certain dogs, being alone, etc.). Favorite comforts – toys, scratching spots, treats, routine phrases—anything that makes them happy. The more I know, the more I can make your dog feel safe, understood, and at home. My goal is to match your care style as closely as possible so your pet feels loved and secure while you’re away.
