“Krista has been such a great walker for my 2 dogs. Very trustworthy and communicative. She switches up walks and is reliable with scheduling. My energetic dogs can be a handful together and Krista handles them both with confidence and care. She always sends updates and photos, which I really appreciate. I can tell my dogs are excited when they see her, and they come back happy and well-exercised. Also wonderful for checkins- Highly recommend!”

“Cathleen is a great dog walker! She has been very attentive to Ellie and is extremely reliable. Her communication skills are outstanding and we feel fortunate to have found her!”

About: I’ve always had a pet dog growing up. My first was a standard poodle, with a sensitive tummy. Then I moved to California, and took care of my childhood dog for 3 years. A maltipoo who has grown older, needing walks once a day, and his meds. I moved back to Washington, welcomed by a pitty with lots of energy, and a puppy with potty training issues. During that time I walked 3 of my neighbors dogs to make cash. Currently I live with a ball python, a curious girl, and an anxious rat terrier who requires 3 walks a day and meds. Because I’ve moved around a lot I’ve learned to adapt to the animals around me and what they need. Nothing beats the feeling of caring for an animal. Im currently going to community college, so it’s safe to say I’m free Friday-Sunday, I can also make time during the work week but it is something I need to discuss! I also have my own pets that I’m required to take care of because my folks are away for long periods of time so I’m available 10-3:30pm and 4:30-8:00pm and after 9pm I’m m available for late night visits! Hopefully not too late :) Since my dog is very anxious, and raised in covid times, he’s not very sociable with others. I’d love to walk them, wipe them down, give meds/play/cuddle with them. I think I’m pretty good at reading animal body language so I’ll be able to assess what your animal needs from me, ensuring they’re as comfortable as possible!
“Eli did a fantastic job with my dog, Spot! Eli showed up on time, paid close attention to details about caring for Spot, appeared genuinely interested in Spot’s personality and needs, was kind and caring while demonstrating an ability to manage Spot with safety in mind. I will definitely rebook with Eli!”

About: With over 15 years of active pet-sitting experience and a lifetime of caring for animals, I bring compassion, playful attentiveness, and calm confidence to every home I visit. In 2024, I spent four months road-tripping across the U.S., housesitting along the way and caring for 7 cats and 14 dogs in 10 households—ranging widely in breed, age, temperament, and needs. This experience left me especially comfortable quickly building trusting relationships with new animals and adapting to their individual personalities. I have extensive experience with medically complex pets, including administering pills and liquid medications, giving injections, and providing wound care. I understand the importance of consistent routines, detailed observation, and gentle handling when working with animals who require special attention. Whether caring for playful puppies, senior cats, or anything in between, I offer dependable, compassionate care tailored to each pet's unique needs. I work four days a week, Thurs-Sun in the afternoon and evening. On work days, I am available in the morning and late-evening. Mon-Wed I have full availability for all types of care. I prioritize safety and active stimulation for my own pets and those I care for. In addition to maintaining feeding schedules and security, I make sure those animals in my care receive exercise and mental stimulation, depending on their needs.
About: I have a dog at home that I helped trained and have taken care of friends and family’s dogs. I would love to take care of your pup and give it lots of attention. I am a college student home for the summer and am currently for the most part free any day. This could change later on as I find out my schedule. I only offer dog walking services. I can assure you that your dog will be well taken care of and will have lots of fun on their walk. If allowed treats will also be given

“Thank you so much for hanging out with my boy today. I love the info that you gave me while you were with him. It totally set my mind at ease and when I got home he was in such a happy mood. Cheers!!”

About: Hello! I love animals of all shapes and sizes, dogs being my favorites to this day. I have my own dog, a rescue, who joined my family at 6 months old several years ago. Ever since I haven't been able to say no to any furry friends! I have experience with both young and old dogs and their needs, having dog sat and owned one in the past. I am very good with all sizes of dogs as well; large or small, I love them all! Additionally, I am an avid distance runner--- I love the outdoors and will happily take your dog for anything from a leisurely walk to a run. I am fully comfortable with walking dogs through various parks, trail systems, and neighborhoods, and know how to assure their safety in a metropolitan area. My own dog and I run together frequently throughout Overland Park. Due to this, I am also very adept at noticing and caring for canine needs before, after, and during exercise. I hope you allow me the chance to care for and walk your dog!
About: I have been a pet lover my whole 44 years. I have owned cats and dogs of many breeds, ranging from kitten care to senior pooches needing med regimens. Currently loving on a chinchilla at home, I am delighted to care for pets of all shapes and sizes. This is currently my only gig, so I have all the time to spend with your loved ones. Always happy to discuss complicated pet needs. Care in a client home is at each client’s discretion. You tell me what your love needs and I’ll get it done. You can trust me to communicate important issues and just take care of the small stuff.
“Piper walked our dog this week as one of us was out of town and the other slammed at work. Piper was perfect! Punctual, super communicative, and our dog loved her! (and even one of our cats did too, though she was only over to walk the dog!). Highly recommend!”

“Alisha took so much care in walking our dog. She made sure she was safe and enjoyed her walks very much. We would definitely love to have her walk our dog again.”

About: When neighbors or friends need a dog sitter, I always raise my hand! I love long walks, playing fetch and canine cuddles. I have experience with all ages (young pup to senior). I am taking time to figure out my next professional chapter. While I do that, I have lots of time to put energy into something I love: being with animals. I'm well-versed in using multiple-dog-lead leashes, spending quality time with pets, and being bad cop when a fur baby tries to get an extra feeding.
About: I am good with a number of pets, I've worked with both conventional furry pets and even feathered and scaly ones, although the scales I definitely have less experience with. I've looked after people's pets plenty of times in the past, both dogs and cats. I much prefer medium or small dogs since I am a small person, but if the large dog is a gentle giant I will certainly consider it. I can work around your schedule quite well, I am very flexible! Weekdays are easy, weekends might need some negotiating but I am open to it. I own a very nervous and anxious cat, so I cannot take overnights sadly. I care for pets as if they are little people. Pets are wonderful companions for life and deserve to be cherished while we have them.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
