“Hannah was great, she took good care of our kitty while we were out of town. She was communicative and sent photos every day. Would definitely have her again.”

“So nice and responsive! She kindly offered many services that were beyond the scope of what we booked (we just needed someone to watch our cats but she asked about various house sitting tasks). Our cats seemed healthy and happy when we returned home which is all we wanted :). Would definitely book again!”

“Krista is amazing! She is super sweet and took amazing care of my doggie :) she was communicative and willing to give Juno his medicine. He gets anxious when we leave, but when we got home, he seemed healthy and happy, as if we never left. Absolutely recommend Krista!”

“Dawn was exceptionally persistent when cat sitting my misbehaving Muffin. Spilled her treats on the floor then ate much more than usually allowed only to toss them up later for Dawn to clean up. 🙀 She also had to hide the feather fishing rod as kitty fetched it from top of bookcase and tore it up. Bad -kitty all around.”

About: I love petting and snuggling with my friends pets. After my beloved cat passed suddenly I have been pet sitting for friends a lot and enjoy walking their dogs and snuggling with their cats and dogs when the go out of town. I may be more of a cat person but I won’t tell your dog :) I am currently working on Bainbridge island and, with no pet of my own, would love the opportunity to stay closer to work and love on your pet. I love walking a lot so dogs that require walks will have a great walking buddy in me. I also love watching movies so cats and dogs will have a great lap in me! Cats and dogs both need play so I will spend time playing with your pet and making sure they feel attended to.
About: When neighbors or friends need a dog sitter, I always raise my hand! I love long walks, playing fetch and canine cuddles. I have experience with all ages (young pup to senior). I am taking time to figure out my next professional chapter. While I do that, I have lots of time to put energy into something I love: being with animals. I'm well-versed in using multiple-dog-lead leashes, spending quality time with pets, and being bad cop when a fur baby tries to get an extra feeding.

“I am so appreciative and lucky to have someone I can fully trust like Jacob to check in on my pups! They love him so much and he has consistently shown he goes above and beyond for all of us.”

“Ryan is a reliable, good communicator and has a lovely calming presence around animals that was perfect for our shy kitties. She is a seasoned pet sitter in high demand, and we’re grateful she fit us into her busy schedule!”

“Highly recommend Kalea!! She is kind and easy to work with, and provides comprehensive updates after each visit. She took excellent care of our 2 cats and 2 dogs, even cleaning up accidents when one of the had an upset stomach. We felt so safe with our pets in her care.”

About: I’ve always had a pet dog growing up. My first was a standard poodle, with a sensitive tummy. Then I moved to California, and took care of my childhood dog for 3 years. A maltipoo who has grown older, needing walks once a day, and his meds. I moved back to Washington, welcomed by a pitty with lots of energy, and a puppy with potty training issues. During that time I walked 3 of my neighbors dogs to make cash. Currently I live with a ball python, a curious girl, and an anxious rat terrier who requires 3 walks a day and meds. Because I’ve moved around a lot I’ve learned to adapt to the animals around me and what they need. Nothing beats the feeling of caring for an animal. Im currently going to community college, so it’s safe to say I’m free Friday-Sunday, I can also make time during the work week but it is something I need to discuss! I also have my own pets that I’m required to take care of because my folks are away for long periods of time so I’m available 10-3:30pm and 4:30-8:00pm and after 9pm I’m m available for late night visits! Hopefully not too late :) Since my dog is very anxious, and raised in covid times, he’s not very sociable with others. I’d love to walk them, wipe them down, give meds/play/cuddle with them. I think I’m pretty good at reading animal body language so I’ll be able to assess what your animal needs from me, ensuring they’re as comfortable as possible!
“Jennifer is amazing!! She has watched my cat before and I felt so much better leaving town, knowing she was going to be there to check in. Jennifer sends detailed notes about how your animal is doing and sends great pictures. Highly recommend going with Jennifer for her services!”

“Mel went above and beyond for us and our cat, even coming over last minute to help us out with something. We will absolutely be using her services again. She was so communicative and Derby loves her!”

About: I am a genuine happy pet loving guy. With at least ten years caring for my own pets (2 cats, 3 dogs). I have my own transportation and have been first aid certified so I know what to look for at the first signs of any trouble with pets. My days and weekends are perfect time for walking and caring for dogs and cat sitting. I work part time at night as a caregiver, but I can plan house sitting around my other work. I like pets and can’t wait to meet yours. I have a big home and am open to one or two animals a week, but no double booking and no outside cats. However, in a client’s home they set the rules and I respect their space.

About: An animal lover for as long as I can remember, I have years of experience caring for pets of all kinds, from dogs and cats to rodents, birds and more! I use my body of research-backed knowledge about animals' needs as a guide for all my interactions and care protocols, in order to ensure the best safety and welfare for the animals as possible, at all times. You can trust I will keep your furry family members happy and healthy! My schedule is extremely open-ended at the moment and I have plenty of availability for walks and visits, including last-minute bookings. Don't hesitate to contact me! I'm happy to care for your pets in their own, familiar environments. In my experience, pets being able to stay in their own homes while their people are away is ideal for maintaining their comfort and feeling of safety, especially when introducing an unfamiliar human into the mix. This is especially true for animals that tend to be anxious. I will always be respectful about entering and being in your home, and diligent in making sure it stays clean and secure.

About: Loving Pet Sitting with a Family Touch! I’m a preschool teacher and lifelong animal lover spending my time out of the classroom doing what I love—caring for pets! With a warm, playful, and attentive approach, I treat your furry friends like family. Whether it’s cuddle time or playtime, your pet will feel safe, happy, and right at home. Pet care is my second part-time passion alongside teaching. In the summer, I’m fully available—days, evenings, and weekends. During the school year, I shift gears a bit, offering pet care in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends around my teaching schedule. As a pet parent myself, I know how important it is to feel confident in your pet’s care. My home is a safe, calm, and loving space, but I only offer in-home boarding to trusted clients and pets, as I have a precious new cat of my own to consider. When caring for your pet in your home, I’m respectful of your space and committed to creating a warm, engaging environment for your pet—whether through walks, gentle play, or cozy companionship. Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first.

About: With over 15 years of active pet-sitting experience and a lifetime of caring for animals, I bring compassion, playful attentiveness, and calm confidence to every home I visit. In 2024, I spent four months road-tripping across the U.S., housesitting along the way and caring for 7 cats and 14 dogs in 10 households—ranging widely in breed, age, temperament, and needs. This experience left me especially comfortable quickly building trusting relationships with new animals and adapting to their individual personalities. I have extensive experience with medically complex pets, including administering pills and liquid medications, giving injections, and providing wound care. I understand the importance of consistent routines, detailed observation, and gentle handling when working with animals who require special attention. Whether caring for playful puppies, senior cats, or anything in between, I offer dependable, compassionate care tailored to each pet's unique needs. I work four days a week, Thurs-Sun in the afternoon and evening. On work days, I am available in the morning and late-evening. Mon-Wed I have full availability for all types of care. I prioritize safety and active stimulation for my own pets and those I care for. In addition to maintaining feeding schedules and security, I make sure those animals in my care receive exercise and mental stimulation, depending on their needs.
“We are very happy with the care and communication Emily provided. She even stopped by the vet and picked up a perscription I forgot to get before leaving town. We were able to relax while visiting family knowing our kitty was being well taken care of.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bainbridge Island
Mel and Kelly were very thoughtful and caring cat sitters. We met Mel in person before we left so that we could introduce her to Arwen (Kelly was out of town). They came regularly each day, followed all the care instructions that we left, provided fun pictures and videos, took in our mail, and left the house clean and tidy! We appreciated the extra mile that Mel and Kelly went to make sure Arwen felt cared for. Specifically, Arwen tends to hide from strangers, so the first time Kelly came to care for Arwen (with Mel), she hid the whole time. Mel made another attempt later in the day to check in on Arwen. With patience and being sensitive to her scaredy-cat ways, Arwen warmed up to both of them, which made us feel much better leaving her in their care during this trip. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
