We were very lucky to find Lani on short notice. She was very good with dogs, and our pup took to her right away. Not to mention her schedule worked great for all.

We needed a sitter for our senior kitty but were hesitant to leave her with anyone she didn’t know, since she’d always been looked after by family and a close friend. This was our first experience with Rover, and we decided to try Chris after reading the great reviews he got. He took care of our girl over a long weekend while we were out of town, and we were completely reassured by the level of care and attention he gave her. He sent us updates and photos, letting us know how she was doing and how she was behaving, and was very attentive to her needs. He has cats himself, clearly loves them and was such a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Chris.

I almost hate writing this review because then Jessica might get too busy to care for our dog. Jessica was fantastic! She took such good care of our dog. Loved on him. Played with him. Made sure he was not lonely or anxious. She sent regular updates and we felt blessed to know our boy was in great hands. Absolutely will not hesitate to use her services again and again. Thank you Jessica!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

About: Loving Pet Sitting with a Family Touch! I’m a preschool teacher and lifelong animal lover spending my time out of the classroom doing what I love—caring for pets! With a warm, playful, and attentive approach, I treat your furry friends like family. Whether it’s cuddle time or playtime, your pet will feel safe, happy, and right at home. Pet care is my second part-time passion alongside teaching. In the summer, I’m fully available—days, evenings, and weekends. During the school year, I shift gears a bit, offering pet care in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends around my teaching schedule. As a pet parent myself, I know how important it is to feel confident in your pet’s care. My home is a safe, calm, and loving space, but I only offer in-home boarding to trusted clients and pets, as I have a precious new cat of my own to consider. When caring for your pet in your home, I’m respectful of your space and committed to creating a warm, engaging environment for your pet—whether through walks, gentle play, or cozy companionship. Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first.

About: I work remotely as a RN, which gives me flexibility to care for your animal and home during the day and night. I have 30 years experience with horses, dogs, cats, and a variety of other farm animals. I’m comfortable with care of puppies to seniors and those with medical needs. My typical day M-F has work meetings and projects. This allows for flexibility to play with your pet, offer snuggles, and get outside! Weekends are low key for me and can generally flex to make things work best for your needs. I currently don’t have any animals of my own and would love to focus on yours! If I’m house sitting and your pup or kitty likes field trips and mixing things up, and it’s appropriate, we may go on a safe adventure . We sometimes stop over to my place and hike the forest next door , or some other cool trail on the island , or perhaps hit the beach, or a dog friendly store for treats. Otherwise we stick to your neighborhood and routine.

Alisha is the real deal. We came home to a spotless house, happy pets, and zero stress. Which, if you knew our crew, is saying something. We have a senior dog on seizure medication, three cats, a duck, five chickens, and fish. Alisha handled all of it without missing a beat. She sent photos throughout the stay, responded quickly every time we reached out, and brought such positive energy to everything. Our dog Seca, who can be particular, clearly loved her. The chickens were tucked in every night. The house actually looked better than when we left. If you want someone who treats your home and animals like they're her own, book Alisha. We already plan to. Highest possible recommendation.

It was our first time having Jacob watch our two dogs and he made it as easy as could be with timely communication and updates throughout the weekend, giving me peace of mind that our girls were being taken care of while we were out of town. He took them on walks and sent us photos and the girls looked very happy. We will definitely be booking Jacob again.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have helped take care of pets for family, friends, and neighbors for years. I’ve cared for both dogs and cats, including a puppy, and I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, and keeping pets company while their owners are away. I can also do overnights! I have experience with rescue dogs and dogs from abusive households - I understand that every animal has a different personality and needs different levels of patience and attention. I love animals and always do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I have two dogs- a Black Mouth Cur named Koa who was a rescue from Hawaii and an Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees Mix named Chung from a shelter in Tacoma. I have a flexible schedule and can work with a variety of pet care needs. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays, and I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep them comfortable by following their usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I understand that every pet is different, and I take the time to build trust and make sure they feel safe while their owners are away. I’ll also provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind. I also have experience with rescue dogs and understand the importance of patience when working with shy or nervous pets.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Wendy as a dog sitter, and I can't express enough how impressed I am with her level of preparedness and experience. From the moment we met, it was clear that she has a deep understanding of canine behavior and care. A delightful bonus was when Wendy brought her sweet dog, Honey Pie, along. My dogs got along wonderfully, and Honey Pie's friendly demeanor made the transition smooth for my dogs. It was heartwarming to see them all play together. Wendy’s extensive experience with dogs was evident in everything she did. She was well-prepared with all the necessary supplies and created a safe and engaging environment for my pets. It gave me peace of mind knowing that my dogs were in such capable hands.

We’ve never had to leave our pups for 8 days before and were quite anxious about it. But Shayla was very responsive to our needs and we came home to 2 happy and healthy pups. I would certainly recommend Shayla.

About: I grew up with two chocolate labs and have always loved caring for animals of all sorts. I’m fairly active and enjoy bringing your dog outdoors for walks/play time. I’ve had some experience with both small and big dogs, as well as puppies, and am very happy to stay in and cuddle or go out and be active, depending on your dogs preferences!:) I have my own car so am able to drive to parks and such to bring your dog out. I recently graduated WWU and am looking to fill my free time before starting a full time position. My days are super open so I’ll be able to give your pets lots of attention, and can bring them out on walks around the neighborhood or drive them to a park for a walk. I love to cuddle and hang out with dogs! If they’re playful, I love playing with them inside or outside. If they’re more calm I’m just as happy staying inside with them and giving them lots of pets and cuddles. I’ll bring your dog on a short walk, make sure their fed and bring them on regular potty breaks.

Pamela was wonderful with our pup "Rio!" He's normally a bit shy at first meetings but he took to her almost immediately. She was great at giving us daily photos, updates and even a lovely written "Rio Report" at the end of her stay. We had to reschedule our flight and Pamela was very accommodating when we had to return for one of the nights she was scheduled to stay over. Both times we arrived home to a very happy hound and tidy hearth.

Trenton and Jordan took incredible care of our home and our sweet Pineapple. They sent videos and photos multiple times a day of our sweet pup so we could stay close to gow she was doing. And they prepped the house (washed sheets, took out garbage cans, etc) for our next Dogsitter who was arriving after them. Will definitely see if they’re available the next time we need dogsitting.

We are so happy we found Leslie! Our dogs are super sweet but nervous with new people so tend to hide and be scared. Not with Leslie! They warmed up to her so quickly and were snuggling away the entire weekend. She has a natural calm demeanor with dogs and totally respects and reads their needs. She sent photos, communicated quickly, and left our house cleaner than it was. Couldn't be happier, when normally it can be quite stressful to leave them. Thank you Leslie!

FAQs for House Sitting - Bainbridge Island

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Bainbridge Island on Rover is $77.7 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 8,025 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bainbridge Island. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bainbridge Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bainbridge Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bainbridge Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bainbridge Island. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
