“Absolutely was a life saver for me this past week. Incredible communication, went out of her way to be flexible for me, sent me updates as I needed them, and kept me up to date on every detail of her weekend with Bella. I would book her 100x over and have absolutely zero concerns she would be perfect for anybody in any situation! Cannot thank her enough!!!!”

“Allison house and cat sat for us while we were on our destination wedding trip. Our cat Phoenix is pretty shy, but I knew I wanted someone here with her since we’d be gone for about a week. Allison sent us daily videos of Phoenix slowly warming up to her and I knew Phoenix was in great hands.”

“Kendall did a great job caring for my dogs. They loved her!! She took them on adventures and treated them to pup cups at Starbucks! Yes, my dogs are a little bougie 😊. I highly recommend Kendall to care for your pet(s).”

“Regina was wonderful! She took great care of our dog and cat in our home for the weekend. We look for a sitter who can spend a lot of time with our pets and she’s able to do that! She’s professional, conscientious and trustworthy! I recommend her for anyone looking for pet care - 100%.”

“We would highly recommend Bailey for your pet/house sitting needs. It was our first time using Rover and we have three dogs (2 large) so we wanted someone that was comfortable around large dogs. Our dogs warmed up to Bailey as soon as they met her. We felt our home was in good hands and came back to it looking exactly as left. Will definitely look to Bailey in the future when needed.”

“Will was great with our dogs! He great with up front communication, sent us pictures every day when we were gone and took such good care of them. We will use Will again for sure!”

“Gianna watched our bud Goose while we were away for the weekend and it was a great choice. She was communicative, great with Goose, and had absolutely no troubles taking care of him. We came home to a very happy boy, and I’m sure he will be staying with Gianna again in the future.”

“Chloe once again was great with Luna and Banjo! She sent me pictures while we were away and kept me posted on how they were doing. Will continue to rebook Chloe for future sittings..”

“Basma is an incredible sitter and I would highly recommend her for any furry friend!!! She watched my recently adopted dog for four days and really put my mind at ease during my trip. I received many updates on the status of my dogs, including the cutest videos and photos, and I knew she was taking great care of my pup. My dog will definitely miss the undivided attention and love Basma gave him and we will definitely be calling her again in the future!”

“This was our first Rover hire, but Eileen made it easy. She was awesome because when she arrived at our house, she eagerly greeted each of three labrador dogs she would be watching. We had communicated about the need for our family to be away from home for a company event and needed help with our dog, our daughter and son-in-law's dog, and a foster that we had for just 14 days. Eileen understands dogs of different ages and abilities and commanded their attention with grace for each of their personalities: Two dogs were over 7 year old, one dog was under 2 years old. We enjoyed the night out and trusted all would be well with Eileen. It was. Thank you!”

“Megan did an amazing job! Took notes and was flexible to every need and preference, pictures and updates regularly, and my minions clearly had a lot of fun! Highly recommend and will be requesting again for my future dog sitting! Thanks Megan!!!”

“Kyla did an excellent job house sitting with my dog. She was very communicative, responsive to my texts and sent pictures of my girl through her stay. Will definitely be using her again. Thank you, Kyla!”

“Kia was fantastic! She was patient and flexible with us making changes in the time. She was very responsive and timely. Most importantly, she was very sweet with our dog Bella. We will definitely rebook with Kia when we are back in the area.”

“Tucker stayed with jedi all weekend, he took him on walks, kept me updated (with pictures) and gave him the attention he deserves. Jedi liked his company and I will happily rebook if he is available for my next trip.”

“Overall, Kellsey was a great sitter for us! She was able to meet with us prior to her stay, my pets seemed to enjoy her, and she was able to sit over a holiday weekend without a ton of heads up. The only reason I’m knocking a star here is because she left our home much earlier than we agreed upon/I outlined in my Rover booking request, leaving my pets alone for many hours that day. This could have been a communication flub, but it’s something to think about. Thanks for caring for our pets well, Kellsey.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. My family has had dogs ever since I was a baby, and we've owned a variety of breeds, including Pugs, Shih Tzus, Labrador Retrievers, and more. I currently have a 9 year old Australian Shepherd who keeps me active and reminds me every day how important quality care is for our pets. I'm also a lifelong horse owner and rider, having owned and cared for horses and other livestock since third grade. And as much as I love dogs, I'm just as much of a cat lover! I began pet sitting independently when I turned 18 and have since built a wonderful group of repeat clients. I provide a wide range of services, including drop-in visits, dog walking, overnight stays, and extended pet care. I take pride in being dependable, attentive, and respectful of my clients' homes, always leaving them as clean or cleaner than I found them. Most importantly, I care for every animal as if they were my own. Building trust with both pets and their owners is something I take seriously, and providing safe, loving, and reliable care is something I am truly passionate about. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily routine as a dog owner myself. Every morning, I spend 20–30 minutes walking and playing with my 9 year old Australian Shepherd before starting my workday. During my lunch break, I often return home to let her out and spend some additional time with her. I work a full time 9–5 job, but I have a flexible schedule and the ability to work from home when needed. This flexibility allows me to accommodate pet visits, walks, and other care needs throughout the day. Because caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, I make it a priority in both my daily and weekly routine. My top priorities when caring for pets are their safety, comfort, and maintaining the routine they're used to. I always follow the pet owner's instructions closely, including feeding schedules, exercise routines, medications, and any specific care needs. Whether a pet is on a leash or in an approved off-leash environment, I make sure they are supervised and safe at all times. I also have experience caring for pets of all ages, from young puppies to senior pets. I understand that trusting someone with your pet and your home is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. I pride myself on being dependable, respectful, and communicative, providing regular updates so owners can have peace of mind while they're away.
“Alexis is the best!!! This was our first extended period of time away from Cubby (our 8 month old Great Pyrenees) and she made us feel so at ease. She sent daily pictures and updates. There were some curve balls that were thrown at her that she handled beautifully! We will 100% be booking her in the future!”

“Rhonda was wonderful!! I just rescued this dog and she has some challenges. Rhonda did a great job dealing with her issues and making sure that everything went well. I will definately use her again in the future.”

“Viviane was a blessing. She accepted our job after another sitter cancelled at the last minute. She was prompt, professional, but extremely personable and very caring with Diesel. She came by a day before the sitting appointment to meet Diesel. He took to her promptly. When she returned to sit with him, he ran to her as if he was her dog. Will definitely be using Viviane again. We would strongly recommend Viviane for your pet sitting needs.”

Sofia was so fantastic in communicating before and during Michigan’s sitting. Felt totally comfortable leaving Michigan with her and giving her total access to my house while away. She even took pictures to check in during the sitting. I highly recommend Sofia to other pet parents. 10/10

Caelyn did a fabulous job with Sophie (bishon). I booked in-home overnights. She sent lots of pics per request and supplied updates at regular cadences. I trusted her and it allowed me to enjoy my time away! Would definitely recommend Caelyn for your pup 🐶-care!!
Brittany has become a go-to house sitter for me. My dog loves her. Her schedule aligns really well with my remote working schedule so the pal is never alone for long periods. I can leave the house with complete peace of mind knowing she’s going to be here for both short and longer stays. Thank you Brittany!!!

Fernanda was such a joy. She was wonderful with our two dogs, took them for walks, gave them snuggles and kept them entertained while we were out of town. She was very communicative and always available whenever I reached out. Would definitely hire her again!!

We’ve had Kristin’s watch our babies multiple times and each time has been amazing! She’s so thoughtful with her updates and pictures and the boys absolutely love her. It really gives you peace of mind knowing your babies are in such good hands while you’re away.

Nathan was wonderful. Shadow immediately connected with him, and it was clear to me that Nathan possesses both extensive knowledge and a genuine love for dogs. On his first day, Shadow was incredibly excited to see Nathan. His communication with me throughout was exceptional. I particularly appreciated his coordinated visits with a friend's dogs, and how he managed a challenge Shadow has, due to a previous attacked by another dog. Knowing Shadow was in such capable and caring hands allowed me to enjoy my trip. Shadow and I look forward to our next visit with Nathan.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Augusta on Rover is $39.96 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,484 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Augusta. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Augusta walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Augusta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Augusta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Augusta. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
