I can’t recommend Gabriela enough! She helped me out on very short notice, and I’m so grateful she was available. My dog can be a handful—he’s big (around 100 pounds) and very affectionate—but she handled him with so much patience and confidence. It’s clear she really understands dogs, especially larger breeds, and knows how to manage their energy while still giving them the love and attention they need. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. If you’re looking for someone reliable, knowledgeable, and genuinely great with dogs, Gabriela is the one!

10/10 recommend Karin! She took wonderful care of my car and dog while I was out of town for two weeks. It made me nervous to leave them for so long, but Karin quickly showed how much love and affection they’d get while she was there!

About: Hi, I’m Jacob! My husband and I recently moved to Indianapolis from Fort Lauderdale to be closer to family, and I’m excited to start caring for pets in our new city. I’m the proud dad of two 4-year-old French Bulldogs, Aspen and Onyx. As anyone with Frenchies knows, they can be high-maintenance health-wise, so I’m used to paying close attention to breathing, temperature, activity levels, and overall comfort. I take the best care of my own dogs and will do the same for yours. I’ve been walking and caring for dogs for over 15 years (mostly informally for family and friends). Over the years I’ve had Black Labs, Golden Retrievers, and Dachshunds, plus cats growing up. I’ve also raised macaws, sugar gliders, and other exotic pets, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of animals and personalities. Your dog or cat will get calm, consistent care from someone who genuinely loves animals. I currently offer: • Dog walking (short or long) • Drop-in visits • House sitting I’m in nursing school, so my schedule is very flexible. I’m available weekdays, weekends, and holidays (I’ll block off the occasional cruise dates in advance). I’m calm by nature but have plenty of energy for walks of any length, and I’m happy to follow whatever routine and sleeping arrangements work best for your pet. I’m looking forward to meeting your furry family members and giving them the attentive, loving care they deserve. Feel free to reach out with any questions! I'm in nursing school (mainly online classes at the moment), which keeps my schedule flexible and varied week to week. I'm available weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and can typically accommodate morning, midday, or evening visits depending on what your pet needs. The only exception is the occasional cruise I'll block off well in advance. If you need a consistent daily routine or last-minute coverage, I'm happy to work with you to find a schedule that fits. My schedule is very flexible. I only provide care in your pet's own home, so they get to stay in their familiar environment, routine, and space rather than adjusting to somewhere new. As a Frenchie dad to two dogs with health needs, I'm naturally attentive to safety — checking that gates, doors, and yards are secure, keeping a close eye on eating and bathroom habits, and watching for any signs something's off. I treat every home and pet with the same care and respect I'd want for my own, and I'm always reachable for updates or questions while you're away.

We came home to a very happy dog! This was our first time using a house sitter instead of a kennel. We always had a very anxious, depressed dog when we picked him up from a kennel. Ellen took great care of Cooper and our house. She sent us pictures and updates about how Cooper was doing while we were gone so we weren’t anxious and depressed about leaving our baby! We are very pleased with our experience with Ellen. Thank you.

Kyla spent a week with our two dogs and did a great job! She was a great communicator and was very open about any previous commitments to ensure it would work with our needs. She sent updates and photos which were much appreciated and made us feel much more comfortable while we were away. The house looked great when we got home, maybe even better than before we left! Would highly recommend her for your sitting needs, and we would definitely be inclined to use her again.

About: Animals have always been part of my life. I grew up walking our family dog and my sister's dog, giving them plenty of love, attention, and outdoor time. Now I care for my own cat, who I've had for five years. I understand the patience and affection each pet needs, whether they're energetic pups or independent cats. Your pet will get the same warmth and reliability I've always given my own. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I'm a graduate student who loves animals and values a calm, consistent routine. I work only Friday and Saturday evenings (6pm–11pm), which means I'm fully available Monday through Thursday, plus Friday and Saturday daytime—so I have plenty of open time for walks, playtime, feeding, and cuddles. My Master's program classes begin August 27th, but even after that, my schedule stays light enough that your pet remains a priority. Your pet won't just be squeezed into my day; they'll get one-on-one attention and lots of love. In my client's home, I follow your instructions exactly—feeding schedules, walking routes, medication, and any house rules—so your pet stays comfortable in their own space. I'm attentive, reliable, and treat your home with respect, keeping things clean and secure. In my own home, I'm in an apartment complex that has both a fenced dog-walking area and an unfenced walking area, so there are safe, flexible options depending on your pet's needs. I always use a leash in unfenced spaces and keep a close eye on your pet in the fenced area. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priority, and I'll make sure they get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention either way.

About: Im new to rover but not new to pets. Ive been giving pets the care they need for about 5 years. I have experience with pets of all shapes and sizes, pets with high and low energy levels and seniors also. I cherish caring for all pets and believe all pets deserve the same amount of love, care and patience. Weekdays I am available Monday through friday 7am - 6pm. I also can go later if needed. I am also available in the colder months I am also very aware of the safety of your pet during walks and am extra cautious of allergies, anxieties and the comfortability of your pet. FAQs for House Sitting - Crows Nest

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Crows Nest on Rover is $48.15 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,486 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Crows Nest. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Crows Nest walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Crows Nest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crows Nest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Crows Nest. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
