Kendall did a great job caring for my dogs. They loved her!! She took them on adventures and treated them to pup cups at Starbucks! Yes, my dogs are a little bougie 😊. I highly recommend Kendall to care for your pet(s).

Stephanie took the time to get to know my dogs before we left on vacation. Her visits to get to know them really made for a smooth stay. She communicated throughout our trip which added to our comfort leaving them and allowed us to enjoy our time away.

About: Ever since I was little, I’ve taken care of all kinds of dogs and cats for family and friends. From the most energetic puppies to anxious rescues, I am very experienced in pet care, and will ensure your furry friends receive all the love and attention they deserve while you’re away! I am currently taking a break from school, making me available all throughout the week to help with anything you need—including walks, check-ins, and house sitting. I cannot care for your pets in my home because my dog gets very anxious around other unfamiliar animals. However, I can definitely stay in your home where your pets feel the most comfortable, & will take care of them exactly as you would like!

Heather was brave enough to house sit our cane corso for us, knowing he was going to be scared of her and not likely to warm up to her. She was very patient with him. She said he did finally come take a treat from her but immediately ran away. This was probably the best experience we’ve had with him as he was able to go in and out on his, and he ate every meal after she would leave. We’re very grateful for her!

About: I grew up taking care of several cats, and as a mom I helped my 4 daughters raise and train for obedience 3 dogs. Recently, I worked for 3 years at a (small animal & equestrian) veterinarian clinic in the front office. I take care of walking, feeding, and loving on my neighbors’ pets on a regular basis. My own Labrador, Nico, passed in December 2025. Boarding other pets give me the opportunity to still feel the joy of having a pet around. My day job is somewhat flexible on start and end times, most afternoons I work from home and I can fit in breaks when neeeded I will adapt to your pet’s personality and level of desire for interaction. When taking your pet out, I am mindful of whether or not to let them interact with other pets and people.

Overall, Kellsey did great with caring for my dogs! My girls can “pout” a bit while I am away and she made sure that she messaged me to ensure that they were ok and that it was normal. She was able to meet my girls before my trip so that I knew they got along well!

Sophie provided great care to our fur babies while we were out of town for the weekend! She was attentive to them, communicated well and sent lots of pictures! This was our first time using Rover and we were a little nervous. Sophie put our fears at ease and we couldn’t have asked for a better house sitter. We highly recommend booking with her!

Incredible communication, went out of her way to be flexible for me, sent me updates as I needed them, and kept me up to date on every detail of her weekend with Bella. I would book her 100x over and have absolutely zero concerns she would be perfect for anybody in any situation! Cannot thank her enough!!!!

I can’t recommend Gabriela enough! She helped me out on very short notice, and I’m so grateful she was available. My dog can be a handful—he’s big (around 100 pounds) and very affectionate—but she handled him with so much patience and confidence. It’s clear she really understands dogs, especially larger breeds, and knows how to manage their energy while still giving them the love and attention they need. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. If you’re looking for someone reliable, knowledgeable, and genuinely great with dogs, Gabriela is the one!

We’ve used Rover for years and never had such a positive experience as we did with Megan. She not only took diligent notes about all of my pups little quirks and preferences, but she really went the extra mile every opportunity she had. Our dogs loved her, too 😃. I will absolutely be using her in the future and recommending Megan to anyone looking for a pet/house sitter.

About: Hi, my name is Ashlea! I am a fur momma to a beautiful little pomsky and a german shepherd!! I know how stressful it can be when you are busy or on vacation and you need someone to look after your pet. I’m here to help! A little about my background in dog sitting.... Whether it’s my families dogs, friends or neighbors dogs, they can always count on me. I absolutely love dogs and I am extremely dependable. I will treat your pup as one of my own. I love being outside and going on adventures! Cooper, Tampa and I go on multiple walks per day so it’s part of our everyday routine! Let’s be honest, dogs are better than most people. I love hanging with the dogs! 😊🐶 Available most evenings and during lunchtime. I have two dogs of my own and we take multiple walks a day as part of our daily routine. Care for them just like my own. I know how stressful it can be to leave town or have long days at work and have to worry about your pups!

Amy and Steve were fabulous. I initially met them on a meet and greet and immediately felt at ease. They took very good care of my pets and I was comfortable leaving on vacation knowing that they were in charge. I was also given a daily update on Baci and Bella with a photo and a text. My mail was brought in and my trash was taken out and they handled the service people that came to the house with ease. They also bought a cute little toy for my dog, which he loves. They were the best.

I’ve used Kendall for both house sitting and drop-in visits for my pets, and I can’t recommend her enough. She was fantastic during her week-long stay at our home. She kept us updated whenever we checked in, took our puppy on long walks and hiking trails, and even treated her to pup cups. She spent time working on training, kept her active throughout the day, and clearly gave her so much love and attention. We also came home to full food and water dispensers, which made settling back in after a long trip so much easier. Kendall is incredibly responsive, dependable, and always does her best to accommodate us—even when we have last-minute meetings or unexpected schedule changes. Knowing our pets are in such great hands gives us complete peace of mind. We will absolutely continue using her services and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will care for their pets like they’re her own.

Absolutely lovely! Alexi watched our dogs for a week in our home and we couldn’t be happier with her service! We got pictures and updates daily, which I really appreciated. She also loved on and snuggled our babies just as much as we would have. It was such a relief to know our pups were in good hands while we were away. Definitely will be recommending to all my friends and family who need someone to watch their pups! 🩷

FAQs for House Sitting - Royalton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Royalton on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 1,437 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Royalton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Royalton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Royalton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Royalton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Royalton. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
