“I would have given more stars, but there was only five. We were leaving on a 12 day trip and needed someone for our 2 cats, one has diabetes and needs his insulin shots twice a day and he is very timid. A friend recommended Rover and that’s there we found Stefanie. She has been a godsend for our boys. She game to meet them and both weren’t having it, but she reassured us they would be ok. We shut all the doors upstairs & downstairs so they had less places to hide, but Grady hid anyway. I believe she couldn’t find him for the first 2 days and we ended up having our son come over and he finally found him and gave him his insulin. She tried looking everywhere and was so attentive and let us know everything. We felt just awful leaving her to deal them, but she persevered and finally earned their trust and it was the best experience /outcome we could have ever wished for. About: As the owner of an anxious cat, I know how hard it is to leave your pets with someone else, so I do everything I can to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I grew up with my own “zoo” of cats, dogs, turtles, parrots, etc., so I’m well-versed in pet care! I am currently a PhD student, so I have the ability to work remotely and can accommodate most schedules. I am a morning person and tend to get up early, so I am flexible with pet care times. I am a previous dog owner. My animals were not only my pets, but they were my family. I had my Labrador for 13 years and my Boxer mix for 15 years. About: I have had many dogs since I was a kid. As an adult, I have had 5 dogs over the years. They have always been adopted from a shelter or rescue group, plus one dog from an elderly friend. I have adopted 2 puppies and the others were several years old when they were adopted. I love their companionship. I walk our current dog as many days/week as possible. She is my travel buddy! I have crate-trained the puppies and provided as much love and care as possible for our senior dogs, including providing medication. My animals are my children and are very spoiled! I'm currently unemployed so available pretty much any time to care for animals. Once I find a full-time job, my schedule may change a bit but if my job is remote then I would have a lot of flexibility to care for the animals. I have a fairly large fenced yard for running and playing. Trees for observing the squirrels! There are 2 outside cats that do not really mind other dogs. My dog has done very well with other dogs as long as they are not aggressive or too big. I also live in a nice neighborhood where dogs can be walked, including a nice, wooded area with a great trail for walking. I also live close to Eagle Creek park where dogs could be walked.

About: I have been an animal lover my whole life. I have always had dogs. I became a cat mom a few years ago when we inherited our Grandcat. He is special needs and we love him so much. I have experience with diabetic cats and know how to administer an injection of insulin. I have learned and know a lot about cats now since having my first cat. I have retired from my full -time job after 36 years this last summer. I take care of my own special needs cat on a daily basis. He is a diabetic senior cat and needs two injections a day. About: I have been raising my own puppy, Vader (black lab), since April 2025 which has taught me both how to handle an energetic dog and what their body language means. I also grew up with two labs at home my entire childhood. I am an EMT and current medical student at MU-WCOM in Indianapolis, so I can assure you that I am fully equipped to follow any strict medical or dietary restrictions your dog may have or handle possible high-stress situations. I am training for an Ironman triathlon as well, so if your dog likes to go on runs (or look like they need to start😉), look no further as I’d love to have a buddy join me. I am generally unavailable on Mondays and Tuesdays, as I have my OMM and clinical anatomy labs on those days. I have lecture Monday-Friday from 8 AM-noon, but after that I would be happy to stop by for your pet! Weekends are completely open for me, however there may be weekends I need to study a lot more than others, so as long as we work out a relative plan in advance there shouldn’t be a problem. I would be glad to let your dog(s) out to use the restroom, play, go for walks/runs, and anything else they may need while you’re away for an extended period of time. Just let me know what their usual schedule is and how you’ve trained them so I know what to expect.
