“Lori has been so easy to work with. She's been great with communication. Texted me every day and sent pictures of our dog. Cleaned up our dog's accidents. She stayed at our house and we returned to it so neat. She was punctual with coming for her meet-and-greet. Great experience. We would choose her again.”

“Sam did exactly as I had hoped and was so sweet and made Barb feel comfortable, which is not an easy thing to do! By extension I felt so comfortable with her in Sam's care. We would love to have her back anytime!”

“Hayli was our peace of mind with her loving care of Ellie and Annie, our two bichon frise dogs while we had a pontoon day on Lake Monroe celebrating our 45th anniversary. She arrived promptly and understood the girls routine and gave them and us a great day. Her attitude is positive and caring. She would be an ideal sitter for any pet and pet family. Highly recommend for future sitting.”

“Kristle was amazing!!! We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter to watch our Coco Bella! Kristle was loving and caring! She was so good to Coco! She took her out on walks, played with her, and made sure she was well taken care of. She sent us pictures everyday and was quick to respond! I am so happy we met Kristle and we will be in contact with her for future needs! I highly recommend her services! Thank you Kristle and family! Coco loved you guys!”

“Heather was brave enough to house sit our cane corso for us, knowing he was going to be scared of her and not likely to warm up to her. She was very patient with him. She said he did finally come take a treat from her but immediately ran away. This was probably the best experience we’ve had with him as he was able to go in and out on his, and he ate every meal after she would leave. We’re very grateful for her!”

“We’ve left a review before, but we’ll say it again…Stefanie is the best of the best!!! She goes above and beyond taking care of our dogs, 1 of them a very old girl. They love her and so do we!”

“Patrick was above and beyond!!! Really, I couldn't ask for a more consistent, responsive, loving human to watch my dawgos. I'm a bit of a stress case when it comes to them and he made me so comfortable. He stayed at my place for a week and he gave them stellar walks, tons of love and dealt with their idiosyncrasies with understanding and awareness. He fed my older dude his meds and could handle two big dawgos on a walk with grace that bled into their behavior. I can't say enough about how great he is. HIGHLY RECC'D!! Thanks Patrick, we'll see you again soon now that we know we have someone we can really trust.”
“Katie was a hit!!!! With Griffin and with us. Please come back soon!!! Thank you for being an eager player of dog games AND for leaving the house so clean. Five-plus stars for Katie.”

“Cass did a great job taking care of my 3 dogs and 4 cats for 3 nights/4 days in my home. I have 2 young dogs under 10 pounds, and an elderly 40 pound dog that takes meds twice daily. She gave the meds and followed all my instructions for keeping the pack happy and healthy. She sent regular updates and asked questions as they came up. When I arrived home, everything was in order and all my pets were taken care of like I had asked. I recommend Cass, and would not hesitate to use her as a sitter in the future!”

About: I have had many dogs since I was a kid. As an adult, I have had 5 dogs over the years. They have always been adopted from a shelter or rescue group, plus one dog from an elderly friend. I have adopted 2 puppies and the others were several years old when they were adopted. I love their companionship. I walk our current dog as many days/week as possible. She is my travel buddy! I have crate-trained the puppies and provided as much love and care as possible for our senior dogs, including providing medication. My animals are my children and are very spoiled! I'm currently unemployed so available pretty much any time to care for animals. Once I find a full-time job, my schedule may change a bit but if my job is remote then I would have a lot of flexibility to care for the animals. I have a fairly large fenced yard for running and playing. Trees for observing the squirrels! There are 2 outside cats that do not really mind other dogs. My dog has done very well with other dogs as long as they are not aggressive or too big. I also live in a nice neighborhood where dogs can be walked, including a nice, wooded area with a great trail for walking. I also live close to Eagle Creek park where dogs could be walked.
“Zach is great! He’s house/dog-sat for us a couple of times, and our dog is always clearly well taken care of and happy! Zach sends great photos and videos, and keeps us updated if there’s anything we need to know. Highly recommend!”

“Izzy was awesome. So sweet with our dogs. They both loved her and took her in as one of their pack. We have a newly adopted pit bull that we are still learning and she was great with her. Firm and loving. She was super flexible and super sweet to our girls.”

About: I’ve had cats my whole life and started pet sitting other people’s pets in high school. I’ve looked after all types of pets such as hermit crabs, rats, rabbits, cats, and dogs. Since then I’ve adopted two kitties of my own and I can’t wait to look after yours! I am happy to stop by for drop in visits before or after my shifts at work or on my days off, send me a message for more specific scheduling. I am very comfortable navigating your home to your needs. I am happy to follow any instruction given and will make sure your fur baby is happy and safely taken care of.
About: Hi! I’m Eva 💕🙃 I’ve always loved animals and honestly, seeing or even hearing a dog or cat always makes my day. I know how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pets. I’ll care for your pet with patience, attention, and lots of love while following their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and safe. I have experience caring for my own pets and helping with others (family, friends, classes, etc.). I’m absolutely comfortable with different personalities and energy levels. Whether your pet loves walks, playtime, cuddles, or just having someone calm to keep them company, I’m happy to match their needs! I’ll also keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away 🐾 What makes me different is that I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and very attentive to instructions. I have my own fur babies, Nova 🐶 & Esma 🐱, so I'm very familiar with pet care routines and appropriate affection. I take my time to understand each pet’s personality so they feel comfortable and relaxed in my care. I’d love the chance to care for your pet like they’re my own! I currently work a part-time job on weekday mornings, but I have flexible availability in the evenings and on weekends. I love fitting pet care into my schedule and can usually adjust with a bit of advance notice when needed. I respond quickly to messages and will always communicate clearly so we can find times that work for you and your pet :) 🐾. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on safety, consistency, and respect for both the pet and the space. I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding, walking, and any special needs. I make sure doors are secure, routines are maintained, and the home is left clean and organized. I also communicate regularly with updates and photos for peace of mind!
“My dogs both have special medical needs due to heart conditions and require attention to detail. Amanda's background in vet medicine was just what the doctor ordered. Meeting her gave me the confidence that I was making the right choice for her as my pet sitter. Amanda stayed the evening at my house since one of my dogs is old and doesn't play well with others. She took great care of them both, gave updates in the evening and morning and even sent me several pictures to ease my mind. I will not hesitate to use Amanda again. I know my dogs like her and are well cared for when I entrust them to her care.”
“Sara is wonderful! During her stay at our house, she took excellent care of our 3 dogs and our home. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing that she had everything covered. We are ao thankful for her!”

Patrick is the best sitter we’ve ever used. He is so kind, reliable, and communicative, and has become like family to my cats. This trip my one cat had a medical emergency before the trip, and Patrick took extra special care with her meds and keeping me updated in a stressful situation. I felt at ease being away because of how caring he is, I knew he’d care for them like his own. We will miss him once he moves away, he is the best!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ — 4 out of 4 Paws · Highest Distinction I have exacting standards. I am, after all, a Duke. I do not bestow four paws upon just anyone. But I must report — on behalf of the Mohawk Mafia and under oath of the Second Dinner Accord — that my care was nothing short of exemplary. Punctual? Every single time. No waiting. No wondering. This is how a distinguished canine of my station expects to be received. Beyond that, they went the extra mile — the kind of extra mile that earns a biscuit AND a belly rub in the ledger of life. Attentive, committed, and with an apparent understanding that the mohawk does not mess around. While Mahm and Dad attended to their very important human wedding obligations, I was in excellent hands. I remained calm, comfortable, and — I will admit — perhaps slightly spoiled. Which is, of course, the correct amount of spoiled. — Sir Belvedere Chestnut Graham, Duke of Second Dinner, Chief Mohawk Officer, Certified Hearing Alert Service Dog 🐾🐾🐾🐾 #MohawkMafia #belvederesbanter ⭐⭐⭐⭐ — 5 stars, and if I could give more I would. Taking Belvy is no small thing — he's a Certified Hearing Alert Service Dog with strong opinions and a social media following. They were on time, communicative, and treated him like the absolute royalty he believes himself to be. Knowing he was safe and happy meant we could truly be present for our granddaughter's wedding. That is an enormous gift. Highest recommendation from our whole rolling household. 🐾🚌 — Mahm (and Sir Belvedere, who has already filed his official report above)

Alexis went above and beyond with Alan! Even though we did a meet and greet, he decided to be a cranky senior and had a little stranger danger when she first got to our house after we left. She sent us a message right away and handled the situation like a pro! Alan settled quickly and they were best friends for the rest of the time she stayed at our house. She sent pictures the whole time and was great at communicating with us. It was great knowing he was in such caring hands.

Cass did a great job taking care of my 3 dogs and 4 cats for 3 nights/4 days in my home. I recommend Cass, and would not hesitate to use her as a sitter in the future!

Josh took great care of our dog this week while we were away. We really appreciated him keeping us informed and connected while we were on a trip (via pictures, videos, and updates). We are repeat customers and will not hesitate to contact Josh whenever we need someone to care for our dog.

Jesslyn was wonderful during her stay watching our little one. She sent pictures each day and let us know if they went on walks. We were a bit anxious as this was the first time with a new sitter. Everything went great. No issues. We would definitely recommend her to anyone needing outstanding care. She is super nice and totally loves animals. Thank you Jess for the amazing care.
Amy is wonderful! She truly cares about my pets. I have cats and dogs and when we are away it's nice to know that someone like Amy is there with them. She sends updates with photos everyday. My pets love her and as long as she is willing I will be using her as my pet sitter :)

Kaylee did a good job caring for our two pups. She was even willing to provide a bit more assistance to our old boy who had sustained a serious injury and had not fully recovered. She was even able to gain the trust of our skittish and cautious girl. We hope that their friendship will grow in the future when we need dog sitting again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fairfield Heights on Rover is $60.58 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,517 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fairfield Heights. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fairfield Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fairfield Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fairfield Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fairfield Heights. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
